  1. Don't like the Jets of course, but I do enjoy Rex Ryan's **** talk for a laugh. As others have said above, season ticket buyers are going to be hard to come by in this economy, given the exorbitant PSL fee. They will sell out their games though, individual ticket buyers will make up the difference in a market that large. As far as the RB situation goes, I don't know if it was money issue with the Jets, but the 30 yard old rule for RBs is taken a little too far IMO. Thomas Jones had two of his best seasons with the Jets, but was shipped away to back up Charles in KC. Jones hasn't shown any sign of slowing down that I can see. They do have Shonn Greene in addition to LT remember.
  2. Nice to hear some positive feedback from someone that actually went to camp and saw the team first hand. I wish there was more of these, but the board is currently clogged with whiny trolls. Especially encouraging were your observations of Hardy - I'm curious to see how his role will evolve this season. Carrington does seem like a potential home-run based on his perfomances so far.
  3. Sirius NFL radio reports multiple sources have heard Brett is retiring for the 3rd time... Sorry no links yet.
  4. I usually cut slack...but not when the 1st OP is still on the front page of the board close to the top.
  5. Stop Stop Stop Stop this please.
  6. Don't worry the Bills will be able to pick up Smith for nothing after John Beck beats him out for the 3rd string job. Who wouldn't want a QB more horrid than JOHN BECK. Hell, let's just trade for Beck right now.
  7. Were Nix and Gailey around when the team chose Poz? No. Modrak has input? Of course he does he and all the scouts under him have input. They gave their assessment of Poz and every other draftee to the PEOPLE THAT MADE THE DECISION ON DRAFT DAY. Those people, with the possible exception of RW, are gone. Is this that difficult to understand? Or are you just trying to defend your idiotic point to the death? I know, this is how you think it goes right: Ralph Wilson: Hey Buddy, we need a GM. You want the job? Buddy Nix: Sure, sounds like a great opportunity. I get to pick our next head coach right? RW: Of course, of course. Here's the thing though. Whomever you pick, you guys won't really have any say on player personnel. You see, we have scouts that pick our players on draft day. Even though you and the head coach are the ones who get thrown to the media after every loss, you ain't got no say on who actually plays on the team. Modrak and the scouts pick the team. Even though they're anonymous and never have to answer for their picks. You do. Sounds good? BN: .... That's what happened with Levy and Jauron 3 years ago right? They didn't have final say on draft picks even though they were the HEAD COACH and GENERAL MANAGER? Modrak made all the decisions? Idiot
  8. If you think Modrak and the scouts make the decision to pull the trigger on draft day, congrats you are the biggest moron. Those picks were made by Jauron, Levy, and (maybe) Wilson. The scouting department provides info to the decision makers, not the other way around.
  9. Let's B word and complain about a choice made three years ago by guys who don't even run the team anymore and let's compare that choice to someone in an entirely different system playing a different position. Man the off-season is slow.
  10. Pitt's table is now set for a huge drop off...QB out first 6, best WR traded away, starting OG gone...I can hear the Steeler Nation crying in their Iron Cities already. 'em.
  11. Meh...better than reading Sullivan.
  12. Two , way up
  13. Is anyone really that surprised by this?
  14. You'll have no trouble finding scalpers with a whole range of seat quality. As far as price goes, RWS is pretty much the same as any other venue: the closer to gametime, the cheaper the seats will be. Luckily, the Bills have some of the lowest ticket prices in the NFL, and as long as you wait around long enough, you'll get seats close to face $$$.
  15. Amen. If he really is progressing as well as the reports claim, he should and (probably) will get a chance to play LT. Gailey has no loyalty to Bell or most of the others on this team drafted by the previous trainwre...I mean regime.
  16. Total posturing - Mankins is trying to tick enough people off in the front office to force a ticket out of town. If he and his agent were really take the Pats* (and, honestly, any NFL team) at their word they are really naive. Good player, but if Logan is really being honest with his statements, he needs to grow up a bit (or hire a better rep). Also, the Pats*
  17. Kelly. End of discussion.
  18. All valid and I wasn't criticizing you SanJose, I think the questions brought up about his bone structure/density are intriguing - I don't know enough about the subject to form an opinion one way or the other. I do know that Maybin is a few inches taller than the average LB, perhaps making him seem leaner and lighter than he actually is in comparison with some other guys. What I don't understand and can't tolerate is posters who dismiss the guy outright without seeing him play one snap at the position, justifying themselves by whining that Maybin is "way too light" for OLB. He isn't. There are PLENTY of 3-4 OLBs that thrive at 240-250lbs, and from all accounts that is what Maybin is going to play at this year.
  19. Well that's good, because TKO is a 4-3 LB and doesn't play the same position genius. BTW, Maybin hasn't been 230 since finishing college last year, before working out for the combine. It's amazing how some of you disregard facts in order to trash players who have barely had a chance to prove themselves. Maybin is currently listed at 250 lbs. You could have looked that up yourself instead of pulling 230 out of you ass. And just because I'm feeling generous, here are some other pretty decent 3-4 backers for comparison: James Harrison 6'0" 242lbs Ray Lewis 6'1" 250lbs oh, and: Takeo Spikes 6'2" 242lbs
  20. So we missed out an an extra 3rd round pick sometime in the future and are only left with 3 quality running backs on the team!?!? That's it, I've had it with these new guys. /torches season tickets //moves to Dallas and becomes Cowboys fan
  21. Wow I didn't know it was that easy thanks for the insight. I forgot that there are great franchise qbs just chillin' on every corner waiting to be plucked up by any team in need that passes by.
  22. It's a preseason ranking, son. It's entirely based on past performance.
  23. It seems a lot of the criticism leveled at Maybin related not only to his performance, but also his lack of size. Maybe it is a bit unfair to compare the two based on performance since they played different positions last year. But no Maybin supporter can deny that Orakpo just looks the part, moreso than Maybin. Some posters (not me) even think Maybin's too light to play 3-4 OLB. Regardless, this season we will be able to compare the two, and I think Orakpo will still outperform him. Plus, for a guy drafted as high as Maybin was, I don't care where he played on the defense, his TOTAL lack of production last year was unacceptable. High first round picks should be able to contribute at least a little right away.
