  1. Solid analysis as always Union. Shoulda put a + in front of your post. : ) Brohm looked good. Problem is, Edwards looked better. QB controversy lives on. Spiller = Stud. Touchdown run was carbon copy Chris Johnson. Let's keep him healthy.
  2. haha excellent reference that's why you're the best.
  3. You try to remember the names of 8 kids spread across 5 states whom you never see. Difficult to say the least. At least he hasn't been sent to prison like T Henry (yet).
  4. BTW slick, as you've probably figured out, since the post was edited, the show isn't "rated R" since, of course, it isn't a feature film. It is ,however, rated "TV-MA", the broadcast equivalent of the MPAA's R rating. Moreso, the rating card at the beginning of the show literally tells you it contains adult language. If you dim parents out there ignore these things and still let your impressionable little ones watch, that one is on you. Don't worry though, Dungy is lookin' out for you irresponsible parents out there by trying to shame Ryan publicly.
  5. Oh and for the record, I did complete high school. And college. And graduate school. And I still don't think saying !@#$ and **** is a big deal.
  6. 1. Come on Dean. I said finishing school, not high school. You know, "finishing school"? As in: finishing school  –noun "a private school, usually at the high-school or junior-college level, that teaches young women social graces and prepares them for life in society." There are far worse things for kids to do and/or hear than a football coach saying !@#$. I understand the love affair some of you have with Dungy - he accomplished much as a coach, in his prude, boring sort of way. But that sort of judgment about a guy after watching an hour of an edited-together show on pay cable that airs at 10:00 at night just smacks of sanctimony. He should stick to Vick - apparently his "mentoring" hasn't done much with all the shootouts going on at his birthday party still.
  7. Thank you. So Tony Dungy has no problem being associated with and mentoring a complete degenerate like Mike Vick after he basically admitted to torturing animals, but he's appalled with a successful football coach using bad language in front of grown men? Dungy's act is tired. Maybe it's because I never went to finishing school like some of you puffs, but Ryan's language doesn't bother me one bit. Maybe because I've actually been in football locker rooms and heard how the players and coaches talk. Dungy's hypocrisy is the off-putting part of this story, not Ryan's F-bombs.
  8. I agree and that's fine; I'm just pointing out Jimmy's not the first to come out of that so-called pro system ready to play. But, for people to think that one mediocre-at-best preseason performance makes this guy better than the current Bills QB staff is absolutely absurd. It's just another symptom of the everyday TSW Edwards bashing, and it's probably THE most ridiculous example of it yet.
  9. What QBs drafted "lately" by the Bills are you referring to? Levi Brown? You've seen him play already? Wow I must've missed that. Trent Edwards? In his first career start in 2007 he went 22-28 for 234 yds with 1 TD and 1 Int.
  10. It's amazing how many people have hard-ons for guys just because they're Notre Dame players, even though the Irish haven't been relevant for 20 years. Didn't Brady Quinn also play under Weis and learn his so-called pro-offense? He learned how to make the all the reads and adjust his protections too didn't he? How's that working out for him? 10 TDs, 9 ints. 67 QB rating for his career.
  11. Thanks dude, I get that. And it kinda proves my point, doesn't it. He made the statement that Jimmay looks as good, if not better than our QBs. Well, we really don't know that yet do we? Edwards and Fitz are our QBs "right now" and both have performed better in the past against better competition. If either regress tonight and complete barely 50% of their passes for no scores while also throwing a pick, then I guess he's right: Clausen will be "as good as" what we currently have.
  12. Well thanks for the interesting hypothetical but I was just posting his actual line, not woulda coulda shoulda's. And no, based on his performance you cannot say he looked as good as or better than the current Bills quarterbacks. Both Edwards and Fitzpatrick have posted far better lines in their respective careers than Jimmy did last night, and they performed against starters. Jimmy's underwhelming performance was against backups.
  13. Thanks. Informing you and the rest of the trolls about the game and people who play it would take a very, very long time. However, I am free Tuesday and Thursday evenings so contact me if you would like some lessons.
  14. You would, considering your posting history here. You know zero about football in general.
  15. 8-15. zero TDs. 2 sacks. 1 int. Yes, you are alone here. 30 other teams passed on him too, for a reason. He is Brady Quinn 2.0.
  16. I don't know about y'all, but I want to party with him.
  17. For a Buffalo Bills fan board it sure seems like no one is a fan of just about anyone on the team (except Poz of course, he can do no wrong). Haters of the team, Maybin and Edwards in particular, have hijacked this whole deal and you can all suck a dick.
  18. +1 as well. Not a member of the old guard, but have read the board for the greater part of the last decade. Sorry but I have to disagree with Paup, Lori did not just "post decently." Posting decently is the bare minimum that what we should expect here. This isn't 4chan for god's sake. Whatever the attack was that turned her away for the time being, I'm sure it was stupid, childish, ignorant, etc... Lori always had good insight and linked helpful stories, was able to coax ESPN's AFC east's beat reporter here for a period of time, and could debate with the best of them, as long as they weren't completely devoid of decency. Here's hoping she returns; if not, she will be missed.
  19. Ha thx and no I don't really disagree with you. I guess that is what I was trying to get at in a roundabout way. Sully's negativity is compelling is a morbid sort of way. He does a good job of condensing the frustrations we all feel about the team's problems into a nice, neat little column. Is it entertaining for the masochists out there? Sure. Is it always accurate and on-point and helpful? IMO, not so much.
  20. I agree with you Thurman and that doesn't change my point though. Sully's version of being negative is different than Allan Wilson's version. Wilson's just points out the team's !@#$-ups, Sully rolls around in them and grows a bone and tells you about it. And that is OK. He is, like I said, a commentator. He is paid to inject his bias and attitude into his column. The sooner people realize that, and realize that they are sick of his point of view, the sooner we will all be rid of him. Don't read, don't cite, call TBN, tell them you hate him. Enough people do it and problem solved.
  21. I hear ya and totally agree. I don't think me, you or anyone can say they're a Ellis fan; he hasn't been on the field enough to make a good impression. But that is the best part of this 43 - 34 transition: players (i.e. Maybin, Ellis) who failed to make noise in the previous system have another chance to prove their worth in a slightly different skill set. We don't know if they'll fail in their new roles or not. Maybe that is false hope, but I'll take it. We'll see soon enough if they can perform in those new roles anyways. I have no delusions about the Bills' talent pool compared to others in the league; we still have to improve in several areas. That doesn't mean there aren't players on the roster this year (maybe Ellis) ready to step up their game and be standouts in the league.
  22. You two have been all over the board for the last week. Anyways, I used to hate Sully too, read my history and you'll see that. But after awhile, you start to understand what his angle is. Sullivan is like the the Bill O'Reilly (or Ann Coulter) of Bills football. He's not a reporter. Too many people look at him as a "reporter" and read his columns and get pissed off. He's a commentator, or, in cable news-speak, an "analyst." His job is to get you and I pissed off. You and I get pissed off, and go online here (and other places) and complain how pissed off we are. In turn we link to his BS to show others how pissed off we are, and TBN and everyone wins. Best way to get back at Sully?: keep his name out your mouth. He is relishing this **** right now.
  23. Sort of a negative post, but a unique one, so I give you props. I'll give it a try
  24. Positive news is scarce nowadays on this board; always great to hear about a young guy coming on, even if it is only practice.
