Fault lies with both the league and the NFLPA on this point. An interesting follow-up to this study would be to find out how many players who suffered concussions in 2010 were using that low graded Ridell helmet. From the article linked above, it seems the different helmets can be discerned visually, so apparently it would be easy to find out just by watching game tape. Say 25 players suffered concussions last season, and 22 of those were found to be wearing that low graded helmet. I don't know if that's the case, but if so, the elimination of that helmet should be a no brainer. (Apparently, with Ridell already discontinuing that model, the issue is moot, but it would still be interesting to see how many injured players were using that helmet over the past couple years.) To me at least, it's ridiculous that the NFL/NFLPA aren't just mandating the use of the 5 star helmet going forward. I don't care how the friggin thing looks. Neither should the players, if they care at all about their lives after football.

Agree. Carrington, Troup get passes from me - i don't fault rookies for the abysmal defense last year. Guys like Poz and Kelsay however? No excuse. Poz is a marginal pro linebacker and Kelsay should be in the CFL.
-
When multimillion dollar turnstiles like Chris Kelsay are stricken from the Bills roster, I'll sleep much better at night knowing that "rebuilding" is actually going on, and not just a word used as lip service for us fans.
-
So if I'm reading you correctly, you disagree because you're still clinging to the idea that Kelsay's making 6mil a year? Even though I and others plainly told you that's not the case? It's ok to have an opinion. It's also ok to change your opinion when you find out it is based on bad information.
-
Is CK's contract 24 mil guaranteed? I thought he was only making around 2mil next year, with much of the contract $$ being backloaded. The Bills don't "have to" start him at OLB. That's not a fact. He can play 43 end in nickel packages. That's probably where we'll see him most.

Instead of whining and expressing outrage over meaningless polls of sportswriters and fans of other teams, some of you should sit in a quiet room and evaluate what kind of fan you really are. Because if you need constant validation that your team is worth rooting for because other people (95% of whom are clueless and couldn't name two players on the Bills) think they've improved or "turned the corner" or whatever, then you aren't really a fan. You're a sheep, and should just root for the front-runners every year like Cowherd.

No OP, none of things you cite even remotely suggests such a deal was proposed between RW and "toronto businessmen." What you're doing is called rambling, not providing evidence. Your leaps of logic could span the Grand Canyon. Your "dig down" theory sounds like something you read on a Argo message board. Toronto has no place to put an NFL team, period. Until there are concrete plans to construct a stadium that would meet NFL capacity requirements, there is zero chance the NFL would award them a franchise.
-
Of course he was. We (and the rest of America) were disgusted by that fiasco simply because we're too dumb - Then again, I didn't attend prestigious Eastern Washington University so obviously I'm too dumb to understand Cowherd's genius take on Lebron and the rest of the front-runners he ballwashes on a regular basis.

That's not saying much

All of you above have expertly summed up why Cowherd is absolute awfulness. Bravo. That Michelle Beadle though...damn. Good job Barnaby

Kyle Williams rated 3rd best player overall in 2010
Zulu Cthulhu replied to Billy in 4C's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think PFF based this list on their own metrics. Obviously at first glance guys like Ngata (who has much more help around him) stand out more in name value and raw stats. But as a season ticket holder, who saw KW play in person 7 times last year, i cant underscore enough how awesome Williams was last year. He is way, way, undervalued due to his presence on a bad team and deserves all the credit that comes his way. -

Gus Johnson and his energetic calls leave CBS

Gus is the Man. I hope he gets paid. He understands what his job is - get the fans excited while giving them the play by play. He should be the highest paid guy in his field IMO. -
Not a fan of kelsay, but he wasn't the worst on that defense last year. He probably would've doubled his sack total last year if he could finish consistently. That was the most maddening thing about him for me. Even when he was back playing 4-3 end, he whiffed on a lot of sacks and TFL. He's plenty old enough now to play with a little more discipline. He will never ever be a servicable 34 OLB. i have no idea how some of you can even suggest that. Keep him out there in the 43 packages and hope he can finish a little bit better next year.

I think there's a very strong possibility the bills will employ Dareus in this way. There's no question Dareus' versatility is one of his biggest assets. The Bills would be fools to not take advantage of it. While many are swooning over the DT combo of Suh and Fairley in Detroit, I wouldn't be surprised if the Dareus-williams combo rivals that tandem's success.

Eh, draft grade columns are space fillers for the most part - no one knows how any of the teams did for at least one year. But, since you're asking nicely, i'd give the Bills a preliminary B+. i would've like to see another tackle candidate, maybe a tight end. Very pleased overall however. Didn't like any of the qbs besides Newton, glad we didnt take any of them.

You don't expect the commander in chief of the US military to give remarks about a US military operation that killed the most wanted man on earth? Your stupidity is baffling KD.

It's pretty embarrassing, reading this board sometimes...
Zulu Cthulhu replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fitzpatrick is probably even more intelligent, with a better arm. I already stated I was aware both came from winning programs, which was a plus. Dalton didn't win those games on his own however. Just because Cincinnati picked him after us does not help your argument. It hurts it, actually. The Bengals (Mike Brown) aren't known for being very shrewd drafters (remember Andre Smith?), and their quarterback situation is in much more dire straits. As far as the need argument, I suppose I should have used "pressing need" not "bigger need." Of course quarterback is the biggest need for any team as it's the most important position on the field. Buffalo simply didn't view either Dalton or Kaepernick as a significant upgrade over Fitzpatrick(and they know more than you). With that opinion, choosing either of those two wouldn't really be addressing that "need" now, would it? So they passed on those QBs, and instead took a player that addressed a more pressing need in Williams. With so many DBs leaving or reaching the end of the line, the Bills had to find replacements for their secondary. No team is going to go far with street free agent cornerbacks. Defensive backs have high salaries relative to other positions for that reason - it's a important position and good talent is harder to find there. -

Just curious and not attacking you as some have, but what about either of those two players makes you think they would end up being a better option at QB than Fitzpatrick? You spend a lot of time highlighting Fitz's mediocrity as a reason the current Bills won't ever contend. I agree he's not an elite passer and almost definitely never will be. But Dalton and Kaepernick, despite coming from winning college programs, seem to have glaring weaknesses in their games. Aaron Williams fills a more pressing need for the team, IMO. He will be able to contribute quicker than either of those two qbs. In my mind, the Bills made the right choice if they're trying to get better immediately, which should be their mentality. -
Round 5 (Pick 133): RB Johnny White - North Carolina
Zulu Cthulhu replied to Acantha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kelly hit it on the head - the guy should be fearsome on coverage units as a gunner. Runs bigger than his actual size, not bad with Jackson getting up there and Spiller still an unknown. -
Round 2 (Pick #34): CB Aaron Williams - University of Texas

Seriously Kelly, you're throwing out way too many facts for this crowd. Heads will explode! -

Well if thats true Kelly clearly the Steelers are on the road to ruin. A DB in the 3rd round? How dare they.
