I'll say this - at least he's been healthier than poz. Maybe his signing will allow Moats to move back outside.

Seems like the common belief "RB is over 30=he's circling the drain and won't be around for long" is repeated mindlessly around here a lot. I know it's a belief perpetuated by all the media outlets like ESPN based on cases like Shaun Alexander. Recently though older guys like LT and Thomas Jones have shown they can produce past 30 so I wouldn't be so dismissive of every RB that old. I'm not saying the Bills should shell out a big extension to Jackson, but until you see an appreciable dropoff in his production maybe cut the guy a break - he may have more tread on his tires than you think.
-
Reading that was like a punch in the gut. We wonder why Buffalo doesn't attract more free agent talent? Look at the attitudes of the guys on the team currently. I don't blame leaders like Jackson and Florence for complaining - i feel bad for them and the other guys. This s**t trickles down from the very top, and is just one big middle finger to us.

Yes I brought it up because you asked for a stat. Even though Tebow's stats mean next to nothing with only 3 starts. What I and others were trying to drill into your head is this: the fact that Tebow cannot compete with Orton for the starting job is much more telling about Tebow's current skill level and potential than anything you could glean from his three starts. From what has been coming out of Denver, he's not even close to Orton, and barely keeping pace with Quinn. But you just had to have a stat for some reason so I threw one at you.
-
He'd make a great team chaplain as well.
-
Pretty spot on IMO.
-
No because college stats mean nothing in the NFL. Again, he did not beat out Quinn - if he did, he'd be named the no. 2 wouldn't he? I'd take Fox's comments from yesterday as more up-to-date than the chart on the internet. Now you're going to compare Tebow's stats over 3 starts to Mark Sanchez and every other QB in the NFL? Wow. Have you ever even heard of the concept of sample size? How many rings does Tebow have? How is the Romo comparison relevant? You asked for a stat and I gave you one. As low as Sanchez's CP% is, it's still higher than Tebow's. And the Jets success has much more to do with their defense than with Sanchez.
-
Yes because comparing Tebow's 3 starts to Bradford's 16 starts isn't at all unfair or misleading. Now I know you're trolling.
-
Clearly John Elway is as big an idiot and failure as John Fox. They can't see greatness when it's staring them in the face.
-
He didn't beat out Brady Quinn - that's not "opinion based" it's a fact. Look at the depth chart. I don't know what stats you're claiming support your idea that Tebow is awesome and is getting a raw deal. All you seem to point to is his "great attitude" and "work ethic". But if you want a stat, how about this one - 41 for 82, 50% completion last season. Show me a successful QB with a 50% completion percentage. You can't.
-
Your ideas are the good type of speculation however - backed up by reality and based on need. Those are good ideas. "Trade a future 1st round pick for Tim Tebow" is the bad type of speculation.
-
So John Fox is Dick Jauron and Kyle Orton is Trent Edwards. Those are your comparisons? John Fox did go 2-14 last year. He also coached a team to a super bowl. Kyle Orton threw for over 3,600 yards last year and is far more accurate than Tebow ever could dream to be. Calling him a training camp phenom is asinine. And since you're in the business of calling out NFL head coaches, who know more about football than you could hope to learn in 10 lifetimes, maybe you should start with Josh McDaniels. You know, the guy who mortgaged an entire draft to take Tebow? The guy who rose up riding the coattails of Bellichick and proved to be immature and entirely incapable of handling his players and coaching duties? Of course you won't - he drafted Tebow. Easier to just criticize Fox, who evaluated Tebow fairly and buried him on the bench where he belongs. You can't handle that, because like all the other Tebow apologists you're infatuated with the image he's crafted.

Don't get me wrong I'd like to see Easley produce. He certainly has great measureables as others have already said. So far, he's been hurt more often than not. That's all I was pointing out. Hopefully his injuries are due to simple bad luck and he doesn't become another Shawn Nelson.
-
It's not about some imagined ESPN conspiracy. Simple fact is Tebow can't even outplay Quinn for the backup job. That's the opinion of his coaches in Denver, not ESPN.
-
They both can't play qb. Tebow'd be a great fullback. Pryor make a good WR.
-
Spiller has more raw talent. Jackson is a more complete nfl running back. Spiller's blitz pickup and pass protection is awful at this point. I would use 2 back sets with both in the backfield. Otherwise keep jackson in the backfield and split spiller out wide. I trust in Gailey's creativeness and dont think they'll just force spiller into a conventional RB role.

I applaud OP's optimism and even though i don't agree with all of it it's better than most of the s**t being posted in response to preseason games.
-
I'd say, how the f**k you figure he's better than fitz and thigpen when he's not better than orton and quinn? The Tebow worship has got to stop you people are embarrassing yourselves. Tebow makes a great missionary, not a great nfl qb.

Hard to "step up" when you're hurt more often than healthy
-
Given the current state of the OL, I don't see any downside in tinkering with it a bit - maybe Levitre can surprise us at one of the tackle spots.

Longsnappers, the Dane Cooks of the NFL. -
I hope you're right. If Aaron Williams can make an impact right away (and it looks like he might) McGee's frailty won't hurt them too much.
-
I like the optimism, but Merriman and McGee staying healthy are BIG ifs. They seem healthy enough now, sure. Recent history suggests they won't hold up over the entire season.

Kelly and KD make some great points, but I still think this thing stinks. As he was a prospective free agent (if reinstated) vick and his agent should have been able to solicit every team in the league without interference. Apparently they did this, and the Bengals and the Bills both made him attractive offers. Goodell, in an incredibly powerful position over Vick and a representitive of all 32 teams, should be the last person attempting to steer him towards one franchise over another. It's contrary to the spirit and the letter of free agency. -

Dungy only admits he told Vick to avoid Oakland. Nothing about Cin or Buf.
