  1. I suppose at first glance, without seeing a minute of either one play, you could make comparisons between Miller and Maybin. But Miller was a much, much better player than Maybin in college, and it's not even close. Miller understood football coming into the NFL, and his tackling and run pursuit are getting better by the week. He's simply far smarter and far stronger than Maybin, despite the similar weight. There are many all-pro and pro bowl OLBs playing around 240-250 lbs (see Harrison, James). Miller is only the latest one. It was a bad comparison back then, pre-draft, and it's a downright ridiculous one today.
  2. You're right - i can't argue with that. That said, I still take umbrage with people claiming that his celebration was somehow in bad taste. I get it, everyone was upset after Buffalo got beat down and wanted to rail about something, anything that went down in that game. But to whine about Nelson's gesture is crazy to me. There wasn't a hint of showboating in that celebration, and like I said, they probably will never get the opportunity again. The only unfortunate thing about it was the camera following him down the sideline, and that was the network's call, not his.
  3. No, it is. You think he was attempting to impress her? To what end? He is a professional football player already, hug or no hug. I'd say she was already pretty impressed before last sunday. I get it though - it's easier to hate and take yourself way too seriously than simply laugh off a cute, harmless little gesture. If you want to rail against supposed bush league behavior in football, there are far more egregious examples happening every week.
  4. That's not "all he wanted to do", that's just ridiculous to me. And being down 14 in the first half is not being dominated. Maybe you forgot already Buffalo has come back from bigger deficits, later in the game, multiple times this year already. How often does Buffalo play Dallas in Dallas? Once every 8 years? Nelson was right - it was a unique situation and he did it for him and his girlfriend. I guess some are just too square to get it.
  5. I was under the impression that many posters here are big fans of Goodell's No Fun League, considering all the hate David Nelson got here after his celebration last week.
  6. Shonn Green's injury, Von Miller and the rest of the Denver defense helped him out a lot tonight. That said, Tebow made the runs he had to in crunch time, including that pretty TD run. I give him credit for all of that. Some of his throws still look very ugly. Then again, some of Sanchez's throws didn't look much better than Tim's.
  7. Von miller is so beastly. I may have been completely wrong about tebow.
  8. Another tebow game from tebow (albeit with some drops). Jets offense is so bad theyre making denver look mediocre.
  9. Dominate? Really?
  10. A physical freak still with only a vague idea on how to play pro football. That's why he's not playing. Enough with this guy.
  11. It's mandatory that cliche be mentioned in at least one thread a week around here.
  12. Out of all the things to get upset about yesterday, yet another poster brings up Nelson's celebration. All you No Fun League devotees need to loosen up just a little bit.
  13. OP may be just a bit too optimistic. Buff doesn't have "decent linebackers" - they have one LB playing acceptably, Nick Barnett. The others, collectively, are a dumpster fire. Kelsay was mediocre, but of course he gets hurt, which is typical for him. The offensive line is not "good" anymore. They have done a good job clearing the way for Jackson most of the season, and they pass protected well when Bell was around. Even then, Fitz's low sack numbers were more a function of the offensive system than anything else. With Wood down now, I'd expect the line to regress noticeably.
  14. Pretty simple way of looking at it, actually. Fitz saw Jones in 1 on 1 coverage downfield and made the right read, but just put the ball on Jones a little flat. Still, it hit him right in the hands. Curious, did u see anyone else open on that play? Because i didn't. Also, i wouldn't classify that pass as a "long bomb".
  15. Both balls, while not perfect passes, hit him in both hands. He dropped them, period.
  16. I was told there would be no new threads during gametime
  17. You call what you do on here "humor"? It's not humorous if you're only amusing yourself.
  18. I agree Q and i'd add that after reviewing the thread again i really can't understand some of your complaints. The OP's point was simple enough - he's a Ralph Wilson hater who obviously is deriving some shallow enjoyment from the fact that the Bills are discounting tickets for the final games. 12% less money for greedy ol' coot makes his day, i guess. What the rest of you are complaining about is beyond me. Some seem to be advocating that no one buys any tickets until the team shows sustained success for 3 or more seasons - grand idea, if you want the team gone by 2013.
  19. Dude who are you? No one's twisting your arm and forcing you to buy tickets. Does it anger you that much that Wilson makes a lot of money? The team's in first place - the front office is discounting tickets, and you're still whining. You sound like a bitter loser.
  20. Great points as always San Jose Dimitroff had slipped my mind. The curtain has been pulled back on BB - maybe he's not the the genius everyone says he is.
