  1. No Jerry Butler, Hull & Wolford, Mike Stratton, Henry Jones, Billy Shaw, Haslett, Tasker?? I'd question - Kelso (Henry Jones) & Schulz (SS - Maybe Leonard Smith) Current Bills...I might take Clements over Odomes who had a pretty short career here. Especially if Nate stays. Schobel is #2 career sacks. I believe Steve Freeman was a Safety, not a Corner.
  2. Solid post it all starts up front. It's no mystery that this team has major problems on the O & D lines and will not go anywhere until they are seriously addressed. The game has become over analyzed and too technical. I see coaching staffs of 7 or 8 on the sidelines for a high school football game. I never played organized football (one year of little loop at age 11 doesn't really count) but your last name need not be Lombardi, Parcells or Landry to realize you need to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball to consistantly win at any level. It's a simple credo - Protect the Quarterback and get to the Quarterback. The Bills can't do either. I know the D played well today and sat back most of the game to negate the big play on Indy, but was Manning even hurried once today, let alone sacked??? Don't think so... I believe another tackle and a stud pash rusher are priorities 1 and 1A. If Marv wants to take a mid to late round flyer on a QB next year, all the power to him.
  3. I don't know if I can wait 5 years for Losman to come around, but Houston stuck with Carr and things might be starting to pan out. Throw Kubiak, Moulds and an emerging elite receiver in Andre Johnson into the equation and things are looking up for a guy who came out of the football factory of Fresno State. If Losman is cut loose at the end of the season, you can bet he'll have a hanful of teams knocking on his door for a guy with his physical skills. If you read espn.com, you'll see Pasquarelli thinks Del Rio may not be sold on Leftwich long term who was a first rounder four years ago. Outside of a major implosion from JP, you might see him under center again for the Bills next year. How do you define or quantify a major implosion? That will be the prevailing quesiton for the remaining 9 games. With the recent O line re-shuffle, I think Marv & DJ want to see some more parts in place before they render a decision on him. And that could spill into 2007 as they might want to see more or improved parts in place. All I have to say is this experiment/trial/fact finding/due diligence (call it what you want) might not be complete in the next nine weeks. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...ht&lid=tab4pos1
  4. If Marv had chosen Leinart, he would have been lynched by the anti Rob Johnson fans who can't turn the page on him. Leinart would never have received a fair shake because he is from Southern California, laid back, took Ball Room Dancing his senior year, probably likes to surf, went to USC, doesn't sport a brush cut, so he must be another Rob Johnson. JP is from Southern California so he's another Rob Johnson. One fan called WGR the other day and ripped JP because he looked "de-sheveled" on the sidelines because his hair was messed up and he hadn't shaved that day.
