  1. But when you only throw 15 times the results are much more pronounced. If he threw 35 times and completed 22 for 300 yards, I don't think I'd comment more then in passing 2 drops. However we have people pointing out no offence and 102 yards passing. Those 2 passes would have been at least 60 yards. If you want I'll do the math for you....
  2. Which one... The one he dropped that hit him between the 8 and the 3? Or the TD where he was hit on the play? How dare he hit an open receiver....
  3. Royal drops a 25 yard pass and Evans a 35 yard pass.... Easy, easy catches that would result in a 10-15 160 yards passing. Then we would say what a nice game. Also I watched the sacks and maybe 1 could be blamed on JP. How about the receivers getting open for a change? Today I am an apologist....
  4. Amazing I just watched the drop by Royal and also Evans dropping a 30 yard pass. This is after listening on the radio wgr550 how that was a bad pass with too much loft. Hit evans in the 8&3. If you want to be negative on Losman, you blame him on that one. I don't as there was a defender behind as well. 2 Catch on easy lofted passes and he has 160 yards passing on 10 of 15 and it is a great, efficient game.
  5. How about reading the post. He completed 8 of 15, had 2 drops... As with the TD to Evans, you probably give JP no credit and call it a blown coverage. I'll tell you what I'd like to see more of is receptions where the receiver wins a battle or makes a big play. How about an easy completion where the receiver is open and there is separation. Not seeing enough of them. Heck I can't remember more then 1-2 pass inteference calls (Miami bomb notwithstanding) or defensive holding calls. It has been pathetic this season.
  6. Here are the passes yesterday and the lousy situations... Down Yards to go Result 3rd 4 6 1st 10 14 2nd 2 incomplete 2nd 9 sack 3rd 20 15 1st 10 Drop 2nd 10 6 3rd 4 sack 2nd 12 6 3rd 6 4 yard rush 3rd 4 Drop? Evans 2nd 7 6 1st 10 sack 2nd 25 inc 3rd 25 sack -2 3rd 10 inc 2nd 5 sack 3rd 12 tipped 1st 20 inc 2nd 20 TD Evans I think I missed 2 passes.... Point is there was very few good passing downs. This more then anything shows what bad situations JP was put into.
  7. Is it the chicken or the egg. He went back to pass all of 21 times yesterday and most were bad passing situations. He has (outside the Chicago game) been completing 60% of his passes and frankly the offensive play calling has been offensive. I am sick of people being happy when they rush the ball 40 times for a 3 yard average. Yesterday again I marked him as an incomplete. Getting harder and harder to defend him, but what I'd like to see is the offense put in a game plan like NE vs. Minn where they passed 40 times, with Minn wanting to defend the run. Want to see him roll out, throw quick hitters, screens... Not being a JP apologist but just look at the play calling yesterday. It was putrid, like it has been throughout the year and yes may be it is JP's faultg. I am just not sure.
  8. Look I was not an RJ or Bledsoe fan. There career has borne the fact that they have put up some #'s, but have proven themselves as mediocre at best when it comes to coming up big when needed. Now let's look at JP yesterday. I have no ill will and want to see him succeed more then fail. He only threw 15 passes and dropped back 21 times (5 sacks, 1 rush). That is not enough to make a read. Now there were 2 drops and he made the one proper read and connected with Evans as he was hit. A naysayer will say Evans was open because of a blown coverage. What I saw was Evans beat the Packers #1 cover guy (Harris) and the DB choose double coverage on the other Bill in the middle. Most passes were in obvious passing downs and the offensive play calling has been terrible, with few open receivers. Other questions are whether the offsides and timeouts are JP's fault or just bad organization. So I admit I'm biased and can wait 'til the end of the season with JP, as I was happy to see Bledsoe go and Nall & Holcomb are not options. Now if we struggle, particularly JP, and Brady Quinn (as an example) is available, I want him drafted.
  9. What made Kelly-Marino I would say no worse then 2, was they played each other at least twice a year. Brady-Manning may get there, but they have faced each other no where near enough. Staubach-Bradshaw again, what a pair, but they just did not go head to head enough.
  10. First a question.... Has any QB made more money in his career then Drew??? He signed the first $100,000,000 contract and then duped Buffalo and Dallas with his prototypical 6'4" stature and a gun for an arm resume. He'll undoubtably have another suitor at the end of this year and the same scenario will play out. Unfortunately they have thrown Romo to the wolves, bringing him in vs. Carolina on the road as opposed to Bledsoe who continually seems to save himself in home games vs. dogs.... Parcell's yet another coach who thought he could turn Bledsoe around.
  11. I forgot how Bledsoe led the Bills and the Cowboys to the playoffs and won all those playoff games for NE. Bledsoe has done it again to another team..... teased them just enough....
  12. I said that in the OP. The point is that he has made ridiculously huge $'s solely based on him meeting the mould of the prototypical QB. Has anyone made as much and been given as much press with such a feeble track record? I compared his stats with Jeff Garcia (same age), who was undersized and came from the CFL. I will easily say that Garcia's stats were superior to Bledsoe the past 5 years. One was signed by Dallas, the other is no longer in football.
  13. I do blame JP for the int. I just thought Evans wasn't driving down the field or making the crisp break. You have to feel the defender and while it may not have made a difference there, on at least 2 other good passes, Samuel just stuck his hand in (when he was behind Evans) to break up plays.
  14. I like him and think he is a very good receiver, however Sunday he just was not there. I thought he did a bad job of shielding the defender or coming back to the ball and should have caught the endzone pass from JP. Just a bad day at the office, but where it is most reflected is in how people percieve JP. Break up the int (i.e. knowing the defender was there) and making a catch and there is the difference. Just an observation.
  15. I have said give Losman the season and decide afterward. I also mentioned that we should have drafted Leinart or Cutler because they were there and fell into our lap. I still want to see Losman the full year and have the staff support him.
  16. Home crowd, all the momentum in the world and he throws an interception at the goalline prior to the half.... What would be the reaction? Yes I remember it vs. Miami last year... Stupid play from a green QB and bad play call. Not a "proven" veteran. Bledsoe from all accounts is a very decent person and probably does not deserve a lot of the criticism he gets. On the othr hand, seldom has a QB been paid based on his physical stature opposed to his performance. Bledsoe has signed huge contract specifically because he is the prototypical NFL QB (Big, strong arm). Not fair but the many of the boos are due to the fact he has made close to if not more then $100,000,000.
  17. I just stated the opportunity was there to draft a QB when a top 5 player fell in their lap. I don't really want to discuss who is better (Cutler or Leinart). The point is 2 Blue-chippers were available. Could have had a Brees/Rivers combo. Remember Brees time in SD was almost up when they drafted Rivers and he responded with 2 great years. Did not see SD trade down in 2004.... See McGahee drafted @ 24.
  18. We had the chance this year with Leinart. The fact we did not pick him, when he fell into our laps more then anything should tell us that Losman needs the full year before we toss him aside. Right now I am indifferent.
  19. Exactly the point. Brady's last touchdown pass he was embarrassed. See how the player came back for the ball, which Evans (who I like) did not once. Add to that Evans dropping the TD pass (no Samuel's arm was not there) and there could be the difference. Not one break.... Face it, can you imagine being fans of the Cards, Dolphins, Redskins, Browns, Raiders and even though they have won two games the Bucs and their anemic offence....
  20. The difference between a good & bad team.... 1) London Fletcher's late hit - Changes complection and some momentum 2) Losman Fumble on another whiffed block 3) Losman's terrible interception All game long the Bills had lousy field position and NE did not help with a single penalty or turnover. Football easily always turns on little things and Sunday was a case in point. I could talk about other plays but the 3 above symbolizes what goes wrong for mediocre to bad teams. I am far from a Losman apologist and would have taken Leinart because he was there, but was interested to see if he could progress. Still not sure. I was also very unimpressed with Lee Evans yesterday. He did not seem ready to battle for the ball or did not get the separation as Samuels either reached around him or stepped in front of him for the int (though that was Losman's fault). Defence again allowed 3 60+ yard TD drives and their one stop was nullified by the roughing the passer. No I was not happy at all yesterday but I was prepared for that at the beginning of the season. Slowly Reminiscent of the RJ era, but then it was a bonehead decision the Bills made that helped begin this downward spiral. For those arguing, 2 year Bills stop gap with Flutie and groom a new QB we'd be well ahead. Let Losman be and the Bills could be in a perfect position to draft Brady Quinn or a top QB, or he turns it around and we go forward. Oh let's talk snakebit, when a Ump causes a fumble because Losman tried to avoid them.
