  1. But maybe if we tried to score 1 td in the redzone, as opposed to hoping we'd by some stroke of luck we could run it in... Point was on the missed fg vs. Indy we should have been thinking we need a TD & 2 point convert (go up by 7), and then Indy would feel some pressure. DJ mind though, was we get a fg and pray we get another fumble or Adam Vineterri misses a fg or Manning throws an int.... What makes it even more absurd is there were 6 minutes left and Indy had 3 timeouts.
  2. That's the whole point about playing well between the 30 yard lines, and be scared to throw... Once in the redzone he gives up or deep in his territory he doesn't know what to do or refuses to do anything at all innovative. How come, ignoring the fact that DJ only allowed JP to throw in difficult situations (third & long), did we abandon what worked or try anything new?
  3. Wow, we got it past the 30 yard line.... Let's run the ball... 3 yards, boy we are controlling the line, let's do it again.... 2 yards, damn we got to pass, but at least JP can't be sacked for a safety at the 40 yard line, can he? He completed a pass and had protection! Let's throw caution to the wind and try it again... Pass interference, 2 friggin first downs.... 13 yard run, now Indy must be getting tired let's keep running.... damn holding, who cares let's keep running.... 9 and 4 yards, 3rd and 4, I guess we got to pass.... Hope Indy doesn't guess pass on 3rd down... Another completion.... Let's keep running time off the clock, maybe we can hold the ball for 60 minutes and win 3-0... Back to the run, no yards, better try that again.... Botched handoff now we are at the 34 yard line, that would be a 52 yard feild goal on 4th down. If we miss then Indy will have a real short field, so I guess I can call a pass, good things can happen, maybe a completion, but if JP get's sacked Moorman can punt and if JP throws an int to the 10 yard line it is as good as a punt. Wow a 24 yard completion to the 10 yard line!!!! Can't chance it any longer, let's run it into the line and settle for the 3 points..... And you wonder why they are going no where....
  4. If you don't call plays that are throws to the end zone, you are not going to score in the redzone. Play call, when it is a pass is usually thrown to the 8 yard line and then ask for the receiver to make it in the endzone. How about throwing it in to the endzone once in a blue moon? Let's blame our bad redzone play on JP's inability to hand off the ball properly. Vs. Indy JP made one bad pass in the redzone (to Royal 5-7 yards short of the end zone). He completed a throwaway pass to Peerless for -2 yards and that wonderful sack by Freeny when the OC decided he should be blocked by our TE on an obvious passing situation. Add to that maybe if JP is in the shot gun, he could survey the blocking scheme (if not then yes he may not be ready to QB in this league), see the mismatch vs. Freeny and either change the play, call time out or dump off quick.... Oh the other plays in the Redzone all draws outside the 10 yard line....
  5. I was on the Flutie side. Here I just want to see the season played out with JP either falling flat on his face so we can move forward or we see a future. 13 passes and no attempt at even trying to do anything is driving me batty....
  6. Are you nuts!!!!!! The stupidity of the anybody but JP metality amazes me. When it was RJ vs. Flutie there was an option. Choose RJ and pray he fulfills his promise or choose Flutie, cross your fingers and prepare for the future (i.e. groom a QB, like they did with Brees). History proves they made the wrong decision. With JP it is simple, let him loose the last 7 games see if we have something and if not get or draft a quality QB.
  7. With RJ we went from winning and being at the point where we could have moved forward by transitioning a new QB..... to choosing RJ to blow a plaoff game and then screwing up the next 3-4 years (including falling for the Bledsoe fiasco, which only took Dallas 21 games to figure out).
  8. Why is it throwing caution to the wind???? He is a first round pick who has never been allowed to throw with abandon. Why not???? Let him fail or get sacked 8 times and throw 4 ints. Let's see Brady I think has thrown 4 ints the last 2 games.... Gerrard 4 on sunday. Grossman threw 4 ints and had 2 fumbles in one game. I could go on and on.... JP was terrible vs. Chi.... Got the short end of the stick vs. Detroit where he was not nearly as bad as reported and against NE he was ineffective. GB & Indy they basically gave up on him as if he was the emergency fill in after both QB's go down the same game.
  9. Yes a joke.... Unfortunately on us.... As a GM Marv needs to stand up and tell the staff we need to coach and see what we have for 2007. If JP bombs, I'd be happy to draft Quinn....
  10. But that's because manning is not so good a QB. Why would a really good QB need a Shotgun... Conversely why do you need it when you are handing the ball off....
  11. Throwing on second and 3 when you have softened them up a bit with runs, also does not hurt. Usually Losman is asked to throw in passing downs only or they give up and call a draw. Red Zone calls on Sunday (from memory).... Run,run run (third & 10)... From 12 yard line, run, screen to Proce -2 yrds, pass to Shelton 5 yards short of first down if caught... Last chance, run 7 yards, run -3 & sack on third and 6.... Useless calls. Add to that 3 for 3 first drive on passes (all third down) + 1 pass interference and then 2 drop backs the rest of the half (one incompetion & a sack)... I guess that means they opened up the seond half). We kept Indy off the field the first drive where we compelted passes and then gave up in the red zone (8 min 8 seconds)... and then a 4:25 drive where we got a fg and also threw 3 times + 1 sack and another 3:11 drive where we threw 4 times (2 completions). Thus 10 of our 13 pass attempts were on our longest clock consuming drives.... Interesting.... Sort of screws up the ball possession argument...
  12. What about Andrew Walter and his O-line? What about earlier in the year vs. Minnesota, NYJ and Detroit when he did throw more? Let him get killed or see what he can do. Look at Dallas. All of a sudden their line looks good when they have a mobile QB. Put JP oin positions to negate the O-line. It does not take a genious to know that no-huddle, shot gun, roll outs & short drops can mask some of the problems with the line. If Losman is incapable of doing the job, then fine, we'll see it and figure it out.
  13. Average pass attempts 33.... Losman 13. Nearest to him was Alex Smith with 20 (who also rushed 8 times) in a game they won and were always up by over a TD (closest 16-10) and then they got a FG. Obviously 31 other managers are out to lunch or if they had Losman would also throw only 13 times. Let's then review the QB's who we'll consider either inexperienced or in the lower tier of QB's and their attempts. Remember this is 2 weeks in a row... Leinart 38 Rivers 36 Romo 29 Huard 38 Harrington 35 Brunell 31 Young 25 (8 rushes) Carr 32 Frye 22 Walter 33 Wallce 23 Gradkowski 32 So let's hear more blah, blah blah that we were playing the Colts and it almost worked. What would have worked is 3 times in the redzone and more then 3 pass attempts...
  14. Not at QB & WR..... No way they are coming to a team that will not/can not/has no interest in passing the ball. Could you imagin TO, Chad Johnson, Keyshawn, Steve Smith coming to a team where on a good day they will see 6 balls come there direction. Sunday Evans was thrown to 6X (4 catches, 1 pass interfernece and a long incompletion). Wow.... Can you imagine the fun in the huddle when the play comes in from the sideline (AT run right).
  15. If I am a receiver or QB.... no way... As a QB I'd see a QB not allowed to thrown 20 times a game. As a receiver that is not even how many throws I want my direction on Sunday's (TO anyone). As for the rest of the team, why not if you are paying more then anyone.
  16. Say it ain't so... The most boring uninteresting offense in the NFL about to get even worse??? Didn't Levy realize what could be done with the no huddle, K-gun??? Don't say that is the answer, but at least try and run an offense that is not the laughingstock...
  17. I too would like to see if he could complete 9 of his 13 passes the offence calls.
  18. Please tell me how terrible he is in the turnover game he is again??? Three games Chicago (3 ints), Detroit (1 int, 1 fumble) & NE (1 Int, 2 fumbles).... He very well may not be the answer, but let me see... Give me a 15-40 game or two so I can agree with all you naysayers and be happy to boot him out.
  19. Neufeld was actually thrown in the end zone, but Peerless caught a swing and broke 2-3 tackles and got it in. Evans may have caught one in the endzone, Parrish twice have all run it in. I can seldom remember a throw, when in the red zone, thrown into the end zone. That is pathetic.
  20. So can anyone explain why we gave up once we got to the 10 yard line the first drive?
  21. get another first down by pass interference and then we get to the 10 yard line and raise the white flag... Tired of the scared of int crap. Have we thrown one pass in the endzone yet this season or an int deep in opposing territory? We then proceed to call 3 pass plays the rest of the half. Oh yea it's JP's fault. Then my favorite -8 yards on 11 redzone palys. Only 3 were passes and it was JP's lousy hand off plays that cost us the other yards.
  22. How come then on their first possession they converted 3rd & 13?
  23. Does that help? 835831[/snapback] Typical... Point is they did nothing to help him, he still converted third downs even when they were in passing situations. I couldn't stand watching the game, even if they won the game.
  24. I have no idea from his comments. Let Losman loose to get either get killed, prove he is useless or accomplish something...
  25. Oh did we run roughshod over Indy.... 28 carries 109 yards, wow 3.9 yards... This offense and the play calling is putrid... They gave them no chance to win... He converted 4 of 7 third down passes with 5,4,13 & 6 yards to go... He missed on 1 (converted fourth down), 10 & 6 (final sack). Downright unnacceptable.
