  1. Gees also they made at least one first down on 8 of 9 possessions leading up to the final drive. Amazing that on that final one, they blew it.... It's only the fact that Houston did not convert that you all have an argument. It was a huge gamble to punt, that by all the stats should not have worked.
  2. Yea 400+ yards a game, physical run stops, all those sacks, the gift wrapped fumbes and ints. they are they are really exciting me.... They have done a good job not allowing points, but I don't share the same optimism.
  3. Yes both expect to do it by the run and Indy held it the last 6:22 with ridiculous ease.....
  4. I have been told how good the gameplan was the last 3 weeks and now we play a real good defence this week (see what they did vs. Pitt & NYG, at least 'til 11:00 pm when I am writing this). Does leash go back on JP? Can't let him loose against such a good defence, can we??? Then next week we play SD, whose offence is making Indy's look like it's moving in slowmotion. They put up 49 & 35 points on the road the last 2 weeks and are averaging 34 for the season. Do we run the ball all game against their weak defense and have JP throw 13 times to keep their offense on the sidelines? Really I need to know.
  5. Nate played him tight (kudos), but the pass was off target and already incomplete when he knocked it down.... That was a nothing play......
  6. The stupidity amazes me. Yes Houston punted the entire second half, but all they needed was 1 first down, which they got on all their second half drives except 1 (their only three and outs the entire game) prior to that final drive. So they got first downs on 8 of 9 possessions in the game, just needed one more and DJ says we'll stop them this time.... I just finished watching Heroes on NBC and now I know why DJ called a punt... He is the charcter Hiro from the show and can bend the space time continuum.... Thus punts meant nothing.... they needed just needed a first down.
  7. I forgot the 32nd ranked pass defense GB @ home and a team with all of 11 sacks Indy. Bad schemes, timid uninspired palycalling killed us. You get sacked when you call pass plays on third and long and have a TE blocking the best speed rusher in the game.
  8. "Jauron's decision was like a gambler who spreads his bets (ie more downs to succeed) as opposed to the guy who goes "all in" You advocate the all in approach, I'm saying with this Bills team against that Houston team, multiple chances at success was the right way to go." He did go all in, that's where you have it wrong. By punting his only chance was getting a three and out against a team who had gained over 400 yards (albeit a weak second half). Going on fourth down he had 2 chances, making it and continuing the drive with 2 timeouts or stopping them and then having to go further. That is why on third down they should have been consevative and just went for the possession first down with plays like they used the final possession.
  9. Yes he made a number of catches and moved the chains as an outlet. In context though, we have had very little well designed plays to the RB's, our screen passes are terrible, or a true upfield throw to them. See the LT TD I noted above. Yesterday probably was the most receptions this season for our RB.
  10. 1. Third & 4 we should have been playing 2 down territory and not throw a long out like he did. However you have to be able to make a 4 yard play at midfield, simple as that.... 2. O-line did okay yesterday, have to have your best play prepared for that time and the line has to be expected to hold. 3. Our punter our MVP.... That is sad. We miss on fourth down we still need to stop and 80, 90 or 55 yards.... Have to be able to move the ball with 2 minutes left. We gave up one opportunity (make the 4th down or stop them) or have to stop them by kicking. The fact this was the first time this year we stopped anyone and got the ball back with the game on the line, tells me we were lucky. We could use the same argument about the defence last week and say how great we were stopping Indy the second half. When they needed to kill the clock the last 6:22, they made it look way too easy. What did they have 1 pass? Your points only are validated, because we stopped them. It was the wrong call.
  11. What I see is a glimmer of hope.... More worrisome is how little offensive support Losman has. The line is below average. Passes to the RB's accomplish nothing, the TE's are useless, Parrish has disappeared, Price (gw catch excluded) has been a non-entity. Sad to think Josh Reed is missed. Anyone see LT's TD catch vs. Denver? When was the last time we saw a perfectly drawn up play like that to the RB?
  12. I thought the game plans were terrible the GB/Indy game and that is why I have resurfaced after a number of years on this site.... The defensive bend/don't break mentality has allowed over 400 yards a game and we have been lucky and got some very lucky fumbles and a bad int (vs. GB). Yesterday was better on the offensive side, which is interesting as Houston's defence is actually better then GB and not much different then Indy's. To me the problem has been terrible game plans this season and a lack of imagination.
  13. Yes he made a catch a pro should make.... He made it at a crucial time with the game in the balance. I want to add he got both feet down, and I can't believe even Bills fans have wavered on whether he did.... Also hypothetical.... How is the reaction if the Ref overturns the call and the Bills don't score....
  14. It worked.... credit where credit is due... But listening to anyone defend it is laughable, the decision was plain wrong!!!! We don't stop Houston and the game would have been over.
  15. Amazing how anyone can support that decision... It worked and that is all we can say. Our defense has not come up big once in the 4th quarter when we need a stop until yesterday. Houston ran roughshod over us and had some nice passing #'s. Even a blind squirell finds a nut.
  16. Ifs and buts.... It worked. Maybe Shannahan should be fired from Denver... It was the wrong call. At the 38 yard line with first down, we should have made short passes, like the final drive and gotten some first downs. It was the wrong decision. Yes if he dropped another punt inside the 10, that would have been a daunting task. The fact, that we have not once stopped a team in the fourth quarter when we needed the ball back, pretty much tells me it was the wrong decision. It worked, but the wrong call. I'd rather have had 2 chances with 1 coming from 90 yards if it be, then what we did. ABSOLUTELY THE WRONG DECISION.
  17. No idea why we did that... What a ridiculous call. We don't convert and we are in the exact same position of having to stop Houston from our 44 yard line (outside fg range). Thus we have 2 chances, converting 4th down and then if that fails stopping them like we did. The previous three games decided by 3 points or less, our Offence was onb the sidelines to end the game for the last 6:15, 4:20 & 6:22 respectively. I also had a problem with the three plays prior to the punt... We needed first downs not a deep out, which we threw third down. Saw Denver make the right decision with 3 minutes left on 4th down. Plummer threw an int (worse thing that could happen) and that was fine as the decision was the right one... Bad decision, great result....
  18. 1999-2000 was personal. I wanted Flutie and will be the first to admit, like many others that when RJ flamed out I was happy to say 'Told you so". With Losman there is no baggage. I want a Bills QB I can cheer for. I want to see fun games. I want 250-300+ yards passing (from our QB) 6-8 times a year minimum. Will it happen, I don't know. Yesterday I hope was a start. Next I want to see 30 points in a game....
  19. They were terrible for the most part. Some big plays and a big holding penalty negated a first down to the 15 yard line. Carr completed 22 in a row and they (Houston) had their second best rushing day ever. They were much better the second half though....
  20. Now Shoop is saying that JP did not manage the time well in the 2 minute drill. He is impossible to call with a descending aopinion. Just mention the name Flutie and listen to how he reacts.
  21. Mike Schoop really does not like him and you can hear it in his tempered comments...
  22. I just don't want us signing another Jon Kitna, Drew Bledsoe, Blake type QB..... I would be very happy to see him do okay....
  23. Sorry I did not mean to be negative.... This is what I have been waiting and posting about for the past 2 weeks. By throwing 38 times I actually could see the line is very bad.... I have complained about the defence and thought they have gotten off easy as we spend way too much time complaining about the offense. They came up big the second half, but were quite weak. 2 more takeaways, but Carr completed 22 in a row!!!! Evans is a big time receiver. Our other receivers are useless. TE's terrible. Price made a great pass, but he is a pro paid multimillions to do so!!! Running game is weak too.... But let's be happy for one week at least.....
  24. Very happy with what I saw, but again very upset for the most part how many yards the defence let up... Things look better at least for 1 week. Let's hope for 6 more weeks of decent football....
