Losman bashers are literally clueless
Stevie Ray replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is the big problem with people on this board, you all get so hyped up and when it fails to live up to the hype, you want to fire or cut everybody on the team. Yeah, instead we should just jump on some other team's bandwagon when things get tough. -
I know this wont be a popular choice here, but I wouldn't mind seeing Jay Fiedler picked up as #2. Here's why - 1) He's a veteran QB, with experience in the AFC East. 2) I think at this point he knows he's not going to be starter, so may be conducive to a backup role. 3) He's not strong-armed, but he knows how to manage a game (and he's an ivy-leaguer - thats gotta count for something ). 4) He's mobile enough. He's no Vick, but he's certainly no Drew either. 5) He's likely gonna get cut, and will probably get little to no interest, so he may come cheap. If not him, then maybe a Charlie Batch (familiarity with MM's system, starting experience, mobile and strong arm). My 2 pennies.

I agree. I hated the that previous jerseys didnt have a logo or uniqueness and when I wore it, everyone always mistook it for a Giants jersey (arrrghh!). At least the new jerseys are markedly different, but now are a little too similar to the Broncos. Needs a logo on the sleeve or chest (above the numbers).

Bucs & Bills talking
Stevie Ray replied to Happy Days Lois & Clark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was hoping to get him too last year, but found it curious that he never really got any interest from any team in the league, Bills included, and had to settle for a 1 year deal with TB. Not sure if its true or not, but I recall reading something about him having an attitude or work ethic problem, but again I dont know if that is true. Wonder how his performance was this past year. -

Sue, there comes a point in time when you have to realize certain areas are not performing up to par, and a change is needed. I too supported Drew the past couple of years and thought he could turn it around, but he didnt, and now its time for a change. It isnt the talent, or lack of it, around him. If that were the case, would you also say that Gregg Williams and his goons should have been kept around because it wasnt their faults, but the "talent" of the team that caused the crappy records under his helm? I wish Drew well but its time for a change at QB and whether JP fails or succeeds, I do not know, but what I do know is that I will support him, because he is a Buffalo Bill. -
Who is your least favorite Bill of the
Stevie Ray replied to Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lonnie Freakin' Johnson. What a waste. -
His Junior season, he was 19 out of 25 on field goals and 75 out of 76 on extra points. Longest was 52 yards. Like you mentioned, he was used as a kickoff specialist his soph season, but had a few attempts, making 3 out of 8.

OMG! He's from Staten Island! Time to pack my stuff and move!

No matter how good a kicker is, I just cant see how a team would go higher than Rd 3 on one (excluding the Raiders). You kind of expect your top 2 picks to be every down players, not to mention there must be a somewhat decent $ difference between 2nd round and 3rd round contracts. Would a rookie PK be worth spending a #2 on? just my humble opinion.

I think chances are Miami wouldnt draft Nugent until the 4th round, which he probably would be gone by then. Cant see them using their 3rd round pick, which would be the second pick of that round I believe, on a place kicker, especially considering they have a lot of other holes to fill and no second round pick. I agree Nugent would be a great pickup for us, even if we have to trade up in the 3rd to get him (unless we get an early- mid 3rd from a Henry trade).

Yup, the infamous "Just give it to them" game. Wonder if those officials still have a job.

I think you're right, probably right next to the one I bought on the shelf. Now hopefully they have it in stock. -

OT - Need help on graphics card installation
Stevie Ray replied to Stevie Ray's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Using 32mb nvidia that came with the PC. The only reason I upgraded was some new PC games I got for my daughters weren't working properly and it recommended a 3d graphics card of at least 64mb. I bought the GeForce FX5500 at 128mb, figuring this should eliminate having to upgrade again in a year or two. -
OT - Need help on graphics card installation
Stevie Ray replied to Stevie Ray's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm using XP. As for why I'm using PCI, no particular reason other than I've installed 2 other PCI cards and thought that seemed easy enough. It wasnt until i actually opened up my PC and found that the existing video card is AGP, that I started thinking I made a mistake buying the pCI card. Problem is its out of the plastic packaging, but I've been a pretty good Best Buy customer, if I'm bringing everything back intact and looking for an even exchange to the AGP, I would think they would honor it. I think going with the AGP as you and Fezmid are insunating may be the answer to my problem. Again thanks to all for your help! -
OT - Need help on graphics card installation
Stevie Ray replied to Stevie Ray's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks all for your help. I tried sort of doing what JP-era suggested, that is reinstalling the old card. I reconnected the monitor to the old card and went into system/devices etc. I think I see that the PC accepted the new hardware, probably when I first turned it on, though I couldnt see it that the time. But for some reason its not letting me update the driver for the new card with the driver that came with it. In any case, I disconnected the monitor from the old card to the new card, and now get a "signal", but the monitor has a message saying "input not supported". Should I proceed to remove the driver for the old card? Would that force the monitor to accept the new card. I hate this, all of this just so my kids can play these new video games. -

Just my luck, manufacturer is only available Mon - Fri. I'll probably crack it open again and see if another slot is available. If that doesnt work I'm just gonna go out and shovel some snow and deal with this later. Thanks Hawk. -

Pretty sure it is. Wiggled it in as much as possible and the slot cover was able to snap in place, so I think its pretty secure. Thx! -
I just purchased and installed a 3D graphics PCI card for my desktop. The instructions specified that I remove the existing graphics card, which is an AGP. When I connected and turned everything on, my monitor, now connected to the new card, is not getting a signal. Was I supposed to replace the AGP with an AGP? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From what I've learned, only Flash MP3 players are skip-free. Hard drive players like the iPod and Zen can be prone to skipping if moved around or jarred vigorously, though I cant say from experience if that is so.
-
Yeah, but it might be 2 games worth of experience at FS in preparation for next year.

Hey c'mon, how can you forget about Moorman, our MVP for the season. -
Supposedly he specified there be none, due to modesty. I read that somewhere, dont remember where.

A moron-free thread on the Bills OLine
Stevie Ray replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to say you're right or wrong, but if the OLine has been "addressed", then why after every poor Drew outing do we always hear MM saying, "missed blocking assignments" and such. And if the line is so good, in TD/MMs eyes, why put in DLinemen in key situations? It would seem they havent done such a good job addressing the line, and I certainly think there's room for improvement. Oh yeah, and benching Drew would certainly help too!
