  1. I'll buy this to some extent. Hopefully, the guys that do stick around will catapult off of this. Of course, that's whjat we thought last year.
  2. But none of these things discount the two arguments I'm making here: 1) Picking higher is better than not, 2) Winning today improves the chance that we will pick lower.
  3. How many should a team have/need? That's not to be sarcastic, but three very high picks that pan out seems like a lot to me.
  4. Nope...still doesn't. Is the cap really an issue with this team?
  5. so, because our GM sucks at drafting, we should not want high picks? Doesn't it follow that TD will suck with the lower picks too? I fail to see how this fits in here.
  6. They didn't REALLY succeed, right? They just FAILED at getting a higher draft pick!
  7. Here's the problem I see with this logic: If you go for 2 on the first TD that you need, you have MORE information (aka, whether or not you were successful on your attempt) by the time the second TD comes around. Why wait? All that does is build drama.
  8. We all know that wont be happening, but It'd sure make my weekend a nice one.
  9. That's it, Fez. Don't let the moral high-grounders keep you from complaining about something legitimate. Since when was a conspiracy needed to complain about poor reffing? The play that miffed me most was the non-reversal of the catch, which was not at all about "evidence" or "angles". There was an angle where the ball very clearly moves. In today's NFL, that's not a catch. Can't say I love that rule, but I've seen it called countless times, and moreso, I've seen catch calls overturned with less movement than was there last night. Tiny movement != Tiny evidence of movement To be honest, despite the fact that it was an interesting call at the time, I have little problem with the PI on Moulds. At least that really happened a little bit, (just like the ball REALLY moved a little bit on the challenged play.) Yes, the Bills blew it too. Yes, every team goes through things like this (though some more than others.) I'm sure Fez has a lot of complaints about the team too. What does that have to do with the officiating sucking?
  10. Hahaha...Nice use of the pop culture reference. It's little gems like this that keep a smile on my face through bad times and my wife from understanding me.
  11. I've only seen a few people mention this and it's very true. The Bills forced an endzone punt after failing on 4th down, and kicked a FG with the field position they got follwing it. Had they kicked the FG on 4th down early, they probably would not have gotten the ball anywhere near a spot that they did. No, getting the FG on the drive following the 4th down miss wasn't exactly the same, but it was close enough to look at other factors (a total team and coaching collapse) to explain the loss.
  12. Good post...Anyone who knows football knew back when they made "the change" that the Bills would get everyone excited again by eeking out two wins at home against teams just as bad as Buffalo. I wasn't sure if they'd win this week, but even if they had, the NE game would be the wake-up call (as it alwys seems to be). It's not one area, either. There's no one person or unit that deserves an inordinate amount of the blame. This team is just bad-to-average. There are so many holes to fill, that there is no choice but to rebuild. Right now, I'm just hoping JP gets some real work and Spikes can come back at 90% or better next year. Maybe two years from now we can get a team together to be competative again.
  13. They are taking a male sexual organ in the rectem, for sure.
  14. Now he's done it...Nobody disses Gary Hogeboom.
  15. I hope not, I'm playing against him in my FF league. I agree with you, though. He'll put up nice stats by the end of the day. If not on the ground, then through the air.
  16. ...And he has a "long" of -2, so it wasn't just lost all at once. Wow.
  17. And I guess the PIT defense is responsible for dropped passes and referees making retarded overturns, because the announcers just said that they are the story, having held Cincy to 3 points after two long drives.
  18. He also said that they should be "0 for 2" in the red zone today, because of the overturned call. What?? They just called Cincy's kicker "Shawn" Graham (his name is Shane). This has been the worst announced NFL game I've seen in a long time.
  19. MRI today to assess the damage. It really all depends on the severity. From the looks of things, I'm hopeful but realistic (for fantasy purposes - my only other rostered QB is Testy Vinnaroodi. I'll take a 3 week layoff (which would only be 2 games, since the Rams have their bye week 9).
  20. They're reporting now that it's a separated AC joint. He had this injury last year and was out 2 weeks.
  21. I'm poor, but I understand the spirit of this post and think it's a good idea. I'll donate $10 if the Bills finish at 9 wins or better.
  22. I've watched 2 plays, and they held on both.
  23. Not to mention that WGR is always pimping their web polls. I think the clincher for me is that even the Bulldog, who at first pooh-poohed the idea along with a vehement Schopp, admitted that callers who dialed up the post game show were correct in saying Mularky should have taken a safety and the free kick rather than punt from his own 5 (with a 6 pt lead) late in the 4th quarter. Schopp continued to hold that it was silly, but now he's saying that "it's too small a thing to matter", (which is a far cry from the response that the caller got on Sunday). I mean, geez. Is it so impossible to admit that a caller may have been right and you may have been wrong? I also like how he makes fun of a caller's point, then has 3 or 4 callers in a row who agree with said point. Of course he explains those anomalies away by saying "this is the worst segment of calls..." among other things to avoid actually thinking about the issue at hand critically. At any rate, I still listen. I love sports, and it's all I've got in my car going to and from work.
