personally id rather have tony hunt here no off field issues im aware of and he not afraid of the wheather ,too many twinkies from the south ,,ie ..cribbs, mcgahee,..lol sorry thurman il make exceptions for you .... i think we could use a infusion of some yankee talent ,, jim leonard , rb-fb .. works for me , hes as tough as they come likely late second high 3rd ...add jackson if hes really as good as told, seems solid enough to me,, that being said id like to see greg olsen te here ,, if you have a target like him from the te he ll raise heck in the middle allowing evans and company to free up ,, with the revamped line it d be fun to watch ,, much as we want marv cant get everything we need this season ,, this year our 1st mlb ,patrick willis... a te . and a cb. rb .and anyone else we get lucky with..

Awful Colum from Jerry Sullivan
tombstone56 replied to 2003Contenders's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
dont take sullivans words as anything besides total bulls... if football knowledge were drops of water that idiot couldn't fill a thimble on a ducks ass .he landed here after being run out of nyc. he was a basketball beat writer he brought his holier than thou nyc bs attitude with him , he's nothing more than a moron with a little guy complex.. -
my deal would be tko for briggs with a 3rd and conditions.. if tko flops we owe a 2nd next year to them if he excells we owe nothing if he is average ,,figure out some way to define it they get a another 3rd or 4th.. ,,marv is a chicago guy and knows their GM well i d be guessing.. seems doable ..

Here's a RFA DT that sounds like a seasoned Akoye.
tombstone56 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
actually not a bad idea .. id exspected the bills to use a 2nd or 3rd on a dt ,, so this seems like its very doable... provided they really do want him -
1st patrick willis mlb 2nd tank tyler dt 3rd stuart bradley olb 4th matt spaeth te 6 th jesse allen fb 7th jarret hicks wr if the Bills manuver to get another 1st or 2nd it ll likely be cb or higher rated te imo (favorites are chris houston cb,greg olsen te)

heloL . as i see it priorties as mlb,, te,, dt,,olb,,,rb ....wr willis ..olsen,,tyler..bradley...spaeth..hicks...,,rb in fa,,,I EXSPECT BILLS TO ACQUIER ADDITIONAL 1ST VIA TRADES,,,,,, EITHER BRONCOS OR GIANTS -
You can forget the Transition Tag too
tombstone56 replied to Dawgg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
nate's franchise tag this yr would be between 7.9 and 8.1 million..... ..not bad but the issue for most players is the cash up front from the signing bonus ....that being said ,,, business is business ,, tag him tell him to find a deal.. or trade his rights to someone like say denver for their 1st and 2nd... i m tired about players talking about loyalty,,,,,,, ,,that is until the cash is on the line ....... i hate the PATS but billy belichik .. got a first for a washed up bledsoe ..the milloy then branch among others .. ......... tag him and get something in return.. time to remember something....." nice guys finish last"!!! -
as many a draftnik suspected ,, at the weigh in for the senior bowl many players real height weight are known.. AMOBI OKOYE did his weigh in.. now ,,checking in at 6'1/4" and weighed in at 274lbs. ,, this isnt a anchor we need for the middle.. his draft position just went from high first to late first at best

07 Draft class. How strong is it?
tombstone56 replied to MrLocke's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
how deep is it ??well ive been around since the years prior to tv coverage,, i watched mcguire melt from his hangover ,, and dr, z commit nfl suicide kiper was a baby then ,,lol ,, and imo the second round this year is better than a lot of yrs first ,,, a smart team will get starting players deep into the third ,,and i dont mean "projects" .... just a fossils opinion though .. -
modrak is head of scouting but as i see it its not the college scouting but the pro personel dept.. ie.. john guy/ thats the weakness / we need someone there badly ,, our F A aquistions have been hardly the help we needed and far too many pickups that are gone or going soon..

Pretend I am the new owner of the Bills
tombstone56 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
lets roll with that idea ,, hmm lap dancers at your seat cold canadains and now you can even smoke a joint there so i guess it ll be a real family atmosphere ,, where do i renew my seats? -

Jerry Sullivan gives it to Willis with both barrels
tombstone56 replied to duey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if you think willis is any different from travis henry your wrong ,,ole travis had nearly identical off field issues as willis ,,, but he like minors not school teachers, but to be fair neither can hold a candle to dave megget or ben coates .. both ex patriots who have the nfl record ( i think) of lets hear it!!! 9 children with 9 women ..!! hey sully's article is a elaborate copy of posts on this site .. good work sully ..your next article will be ready in a few days.... -
If there was any justice in the NFL...
tombstone56 replied to rockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
revisionist history i see ..when the colts moved it was after 4 yrs of being told by the city of baltimore the the mud pit know as the colts home field was "adequate " for nfl football ...attendance was rarely over 40 k for games.. .. sorry but i agree with that move... but not the nonsense that rhe raiders have used to manipulate the cities on the left coast.. -
a unheard of number of juniors have entered the draft this yr .... not just players but mant star quality / i was a willis fan but to me his comments lent for evidence of his half hearted efforts. i d look for a trade trying to get a 2nd and 3 rd with the depth at rb available ..provided the bills address in FA (the holes at olb and dt) . id go for patrick willis in the first , a top te in 2 nd spaeth // and then remeriz og and if picks were added by a mcgahee trade your rb and fb

I really don't think any free agent DT's

I D HOPE FOR SANDS ,, BUT LOOK AT LSU AND EX TEAMMATE OF KYLE WILLIAMS.. GLENN DORSEY -
dont get me started ..IMO the bills major problem is the pro personel dept ,,ie john guy ,, past aquisitions have been barely covering positions i would pursue LANCE brigggs as my number 1 priority ,,he was drafted by juaron i think , so its not a stretch,, if tko is able to recover hes your mlb,, but here a possibility ,, the ravens have to choose between ray lewis or adalius thomas ,, they cant afford both ,, something to ponderwith the amount of cap spaace and the need to boost tickets sales i exspect a cple of big names to wind up here as well as a cple role players..put briggs and thomas at lb and draft the dt your defense would be scary use the draft for depth and a te

Can Bills Draft Jarrett from USC?
tombstone56 replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
while i agree jarret is exteremly talented he has whats know as flies on him,, his association with rapper snoop dog has some scouts nervous ,,,, snoops avowed usuage of "the blunt" has jarret in the" guilt by association " question,, texas tech has a receiver simiiliar size etc,, also very talented ,, and also likely available in 3rd or 4th rds. he has all the tools just not big press,, -
I AGREE WITH THIS COLUMNS ORIGINATOR but will add this should the bills not be able to keep clements that opens alot of doors ,do we resign thomas and count on him and youboty to fill clements slot? if we keep clements our d backfield is set!! for yrs to come.. the way this yrs draft is setting up so far there are only 5-6 players in positions of need for us that rank where we are picking at 12 ,,late news is that jake long and sam baker are both (ot ) staying in school for senior year.. that leaves joe thomas who willl be picked likely in first 3.. then a big drop to levi brown or joe staley ( who id love to see here).. so that leaves even fewer,, patrick willis is ranked as a reach at 12 ....so posssibilities at this point are dwayne jarret , td ginn jr.,partrick willis or how s this amobi okoye ,the the louisville stud dt who by the way is only 19 and a senior,, the draft at this point is still shaping ,, someone will put up stats at indy so by then the top 20 or so will be different .. my real hope for the off season is LANCE BRIGGS, maybe dielman ,sands from oakland.. and as long as im dreaming toss in adalius thomas from baltimore,, ...id draft ,if there ...willis lb,, ramirez og then find a rb ,te,and guys with some fight in them ,tired of winey candyass millionaires,,,..dam i m venting again ,,

as usual everyone has there favorite college player,, but as as wise man once said" you get impact help in free agency , you build with the draft" off season my way would be to pursue lance briggs,,lb.. bears..... we need tall, mr good hands receiver ,, lance borigter works for me..... o line we need help now ,,steinbach., holland,, dielman ,, could help// the draft,,,, we need a dominant te badly ...... o line help,, d tackle still!!! ....... id loook at the idaho kid at tight end texas tech rameriez ,for the line and willis or long in the 1st,, imagine willis briggs and crowell or a healthy tko as our lbs... last yrs the personel dept played it safe but our pro dept ..ie "john guy" did his usual incompetent job in free agency ,,,,, ,,my wish last yr was dt ma'ake kemoeatu then hit the draft for haloti ngata ,, try to run on that pair of dt's ,, if our pro personel guys had done anything we could ve had veteran help at safety ,( quarles,, jackson,, hope ) ,there was a unpresedented number of vet safety help last yr... so we could ve filled the spot prior to the draft alllowing us to get the d tackle help we obviously still need .. whew long vent
-
morning radio show says were slotted at 14 now, my guess is we will wind up between 10 -14,, first rd ,, now looking more like jake long (michigan ot)or sam baker(usc ot) ,,providing they both come out as juniors,, add either one and a top gaurd fa s ,steinbach ? holland? , and this line could be dominating for many years.. props to the boys sunday

Is the Ralph really safe to go to?
tombstone56 replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
been going to the stadium since the 70 s ,,the incident if it was reported right was a enigma, , i ve never seen or heard of a similiar one,, as for the report , its a out of town paper ....so its doubtful they ll portray it as anything but ' as usual'.. as someone that used to go to patriots games at there field they are the last ones that should B word ,,there stadium (shaffer) was without a doubt one of the roudiest i was ever at ,,,, .it stunk of beer and puke ,,,,, fights started two minutes after the game did..so for any writer from boston to comment about the bills fans it kinda the pot calling the kettle black.... -
thats a good joke ,, you just get back from amsterdam..?? wishful thinking
