  1. you're not "pointing out" anything - you're simply disagreeing with the opinions of those who are being critical of Revis. You seem to frequently do the same when people criticize the Pats*. I don't want you to "join" me in anything...I'm a Bills fan.
  2. bump in anticipation of today's game
  3. I know that Kaleta goes to some games. He actually has a Bills #36 jersey with no nameplate.
  4. Far too many Jets & Pats* apologists here, IMO. WEO leads the charge.
  5. I think that the guy on the far left is Ilio DiPaolo's son.
  6. Revis is a bit sensitive, it seems http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/32847757
  7. wow...RIP. One of the most underrated Bills in recent memory
  8. He constantly grabs and holds receivers, but he doesn't get called due to his rep as a "great" CB
  9. more to the story: Perhaps, instead, we can trace the incident to a dinner in March of 2011 that featured Schwartz, Harbaugh and Ravens coach (and brother of Jim) John Harbaugh. John relates that, at the dinner, Schwartz essentially told Jim if the lockout continued, he would be unable to win as a head coach. This didn't sit well with Jim. "We were having dinner the other night and Jim Schwartz told him basically there’s no way you’re going to be able to get it done (if the lockout lasts into the summer)," John Harbaugh said, per the Santa Clara Press-Democrat. "He told him there’s no way you’re going to be able to accomplish what you need to accomplish in two weeks if this thing lasts a while. "Jim just kind of bit his tongue, which is what you’ve got to do in this situation. Because there’s nothing you can do about it." In other words, it's pretty obvious that Jim drew a big, fat Sharpie-style circle around the October 16 matchup in Detroit. http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/32789791
  10. lurk more, post less
  11. only 21 "called" running plays. As for the gusting winds, wouldn't that make a 25-yard pass a bit risky?
  12. Yep. Field position was also a pretty big factor
  13. Deep sideline throws didn't get the lead. As numerous people have said, how about a short pass to Chandler, or a screen? Brad Smith is supposed to be so elusive the open field - why not a reverse or end around to him?
  14. Then you're still in FG range.
  15. excellent post
  16. Why couldn't the Bills have run "safe" passing plays - say a screen to FJ, or a pass to Chandler? We all hear about how elusive Brad Smith is, so how about an end around or reverse for Smith? Also, if the winds were such a factor, then maybe throwing a 25-yard pass maybe wasn't such a great idea?
  17. The two situations were completely different. Are you always this obtuse? 1. Ball in FG range with 4:00 left vs. ball out of FG range with 2:00 left. 2. Risky throw (you know, in that the same play resulted in an INT just a quarter earlier) vs. relatively low risk throw. 3. banged up OL, with 3rd string LT facing strong pass rush vs. healthy OT, with 1st string LT facing ****ty defense. 4. game in which defense hadn't come close to making a play vs. game in which defense had forced several turnovers, including a pick-6. Other than that, yeah, the situations were identical, though. As for King, hey if you can find me making critical posts about him, I'd love to see it. Is he related to you or something? Why do you take such offense to people criticizing his column(s)?
  18. That was a brutal non-call. Of course, not a mention of it on the CBS broadcast. The TD call when Bradshaw was down was fairly annoying. The non-call on the blatant PI on Jackson was bad - resulted in a 3-and-out on the first possession of the 2nd half. Had no problem with any of the penalties on Florence. I have no idea why it's so difficult for the Bills' CBs to turn around and play the ball on those types of plays.
  19. Agreed. 21 designed running plays for the entire game.
  20. Haha...no, your post was a completely accurate representation of what I posted. I have no idea what routes the WRs ran on the Spiller play - I'm pretty sure that you don't either. I do know that the Bills were at about the NEP* 40 when the play was run, which is to say that they were not in FG range. Once again, apples and oranges. I really don't care what King has to say, but I was wondering if you were the guy who criticized people who didn't agree with King. Yep, it was you.
  21. yeah, you did a wonderful job of putting words into my mouth. any way you want to spin it, the throw on the "Spiller play" was far less dangerous than the play to SJ today. are you guy who gets all upset when people criticize Peter King?
  22. right - there's no way that he could have gained 10 yards on 3 rushes. Also, in my post that you originally quoted: Safe passes - screens, something short to Chandler - may have worked as well
  23. Exactly. Who's to say that the Bills don't burn 2:00 or more AND score a TD in the process?
