Yeah, I'll go out on a limb and say that most supporters of college athletics aren't overly concerned about academics. As a Syracuse grad, I care more about how the players perform on the field/court than in the classroom. So long as they stay eligible... And I'm more concerned with whether Marrone stays at SU, than whether an established academic faculty member stays or goes. May not be right, but that's the way it is...

I don't think this is an NCAA violation. The "student-athletes" aren't receiving any tangible benefits

does anyone think that he would have seen the field, in anything other than mop-up time? Gailey has shown an affinity/stubbornness for/towards "his guys" - Fitz, FJ, Choice, etc., so I don't think that Wilson would have received any real playing time. I think we'd be wondering whether Wilson was a viable NFL starter, and an upgrade over Fitz.
