"Niekro’d" -- perfect.

Washington makes sense as well with the Ron Rivera connection...completely agree with your logic here. Added bonus with the Giants...any Bills bubble players that have a bad game can just catch the Giants charter back to New Jersey.

That shank-fest was in typical (poor) late-season Buffalo weather. There is no reason to believe Haack would do any better this season when we get late into the year and the weather goes downhill. The obvious hope is that Araiza has the leg strength to kick through the wind/rain/snow/hail/monsoon similar to Josh's arm strength. Guess we won't know until we see it...

I for one am looking forward to Brandt's pod...was supposed to debut last week but nothing has dropped yet. Josh Allen Tuesdays? Yes please. -
Was that Zach Moss run actually impressive?
Son of a K-Gun replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Moss played well enough as a rookie in 2020 to take lead back duties from Motor, then he busted up his ankle in the Colts playoff game. Watch his2020 highlight reel and you see a lot of broken tackles, yards after contact and moving of the pile. He also shows better speed than last season, good vision in the open field and a nose for the end zone. Obviously these are the highlights and we aren't seeing any of the bad Moss, but he showed enough as a rookie to create some legitimate buzz going into year 2. According to Beane, Moss was never fully healthy last year though, so the drop off can at least be explained. Hopefully we're getting the 2020 Moss this season. -

He looked like the 2020 Moss who we were all impressed with, gaining chunk yards after contact...if if it was contact with his own team. -
So you aren’t expecting much from DaQuan Jones I take it?

I remember players were wearing them last year in camp as well...not sure if it was mandated then though.

Here's the problem with what you are saying...if the Bills bring in OBJ it wouldn't be Kumerow that gets bumped at WR, it would more likely be whoever the low man in the actual receiver rotation after the signing (Crowder?). What value does a player like Crowder provide behind Diggs/Davis/OBJ/McKenzie/Shakir? Kumerow's ST contributions are much greater. Siran Neal actually contributes as big nickle and the Bills clearly value him based on the contract they just gave him this offseason. I have Taron, Jackson, Elam and Benford ahead of him (assuming Tre is not available) and Neal beats out Cam Lewis for the final CB spot. I certainly do count Gilliam as one of the RB's and I would be surprised if the don't keep five...likely the five you mention in Motor, Cook, Moss, Taiwan and Gilliam. Doesn't mean they are all active on game day by any means, but they are all making this team.

Perhaps more egregious than McCorkle at 85 is the fact that the players ballots only list 1 through 20...so he was getting votes as a top 20 player in the NFL. FFS.

The thing is the Bills' elite special teamers are holding positions like 6th string WR, 5th string LB, 5th string RB and 5th string CB. These aren't positions that make a difference on offense or defense, or at least we damn well hope they don't.

I thought the same. Lots of folks saying that they didn't see anything out of Cook, but that 5 yard run inside the 10 looked promising, especially considering he was running behind the backup-ish O Line.

This is exactly how I think the Bills will utilize him. -

Watching the game I kept thinking that AJ Klein was playing great...good showing by the rookie. -
I always thought Zuerlein was Greg the Leg, but sure enough Legatron is listed on Pro Football Reference as well.

Probably because the Bills seem to play the Lions every preseason... Josh only played in that third game last preseason, which happened to be the only Bills home game. I could see Josh and some of the starters getting a series or two this week in the final home preseason game, as long as the OL is ready to go. It is kid's day on Saturday and with the way he has treated his youngest fans through training camp Josh seems like a guy that would lobby Coach to let him play for the kids. It used to be that starters would never play the final preseason game because that was when team's were making their final roster decisions...some guys might be going a little harder as they try to secure a roster spot or win a starting job and just no need to subject your star players to that when you know exactly where they are slotting in.

In what world is 62-net on a punt not good enough? The situation there called for one thing, to blast that ball as far as he could to flip the field. Mission accomplished. So let them put their return man deeper, then Araiza can hit a 50 yard "pooch" forcing a tough catch, field on a hop etc. Thinking we could see opponents flubbing a few punts this season. Think it was when Elam came off the field hurt that the site went down. Sitting in the stadium I went checked the GDT as soon as it happened to see what was going on and the site was down by the time I clicked 'Submit Reply'.

OJ Howard disappointing showing vs Indy
Son of a K-Gun replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
When Howard came back out late in the game he seemed to be taking a number of snaps in the backfield. Wonder if the staff wanted to get a look at him in Gilliam's H-Back role since there isn't really a direct backup (not that it is a huge role on this team). Also wanted to note that Howard (along with the other TE's, but Howard primarily) took a number of snaps lined up out wide. Could be an interesting look and a way to create size mismatches depending on how the defense plays it. -
If you are Canadian then you are SOL on NFL+ as well as Madden. Asked my rep this week…

Haack trotted out to a sprinkling of boos for the first punt and there was a buzz in the crowd when Araiza came on for his punt. Then BOOM! The punt was like a laser off his left foot and the return man hesitated for just a split second and that was all it took for the ball to fly over his head. NFL returners haven’t seen punts like that and it is going to be a problem. Tape doesn’t do it justice, it is a different animal.

Some of these new segments they are trying are gawd awful…wErdhl or whatever the hell it was, ouch. Hopefully this new crew finds their stride come the start of the season but for now I’m glad I only have this show on in the background. Michael Robinson was just such a no-brainer, you almost wonder if he didn’t want the full-time chair? -
Taylor looked like a young Al Bundy that day.
