Bushism stated by George Bush
Joey Balls replied to justnzane's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
My favorite recent Bush media moment has Bush saying that he never had claimed that we should "stay the course" followed, of course, by oodles and oodles of videotape from past public appearences where he says "stay the course" or "we MUST stay the course" over and over again. Some would call that flip flopping, lying, hypocrisy....I just call it neoconservative politics as usual. -
John Kerry Is Not An Idiot
Joey Balls replied to true_blue_bill's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I guess it takes a righty blog to validate the far right wing blogosphere who first ran with the silly Rather story. God, where to begin to take apart your weak response link? Ok, for starters the typography matter: http://voice.aiga.org/content.cfm?ContentA...icle&aid=730650 "Just as quickly it was pointed out by others—including those critical of the President—that there were typewriters available during Mr. Bush’s period of service in the early 1970s that were capable of such typographic subtleties.' I can continue to take your weakest link apart if you don't feel sufficiently chastened yet? As the albino told Gary Bussey in the Firm before he blew him away "Now this is going to turn out badly for you...." Or we can get over 2004 and this current stupid non-story involving Kerry and all ask our current commander in chief why he hasn't apologized to our troops for leaving them wanking in the wind. -

And once again, like most of the people here who scoff at the Bush Air Guard documents they offer nothing to disprove their validity. No doubt the same people who decided it would just be a plum dandy idea to invade Iraq over 3 years ago and started pounding the war drum. -

Joey Balls replied to true_blue_bill's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And of course, like the rest of the right wing blogosphere that started the whole 60 minutes charade, you over nothing to disprove they weren't faked documents. Keep believing whatever you want....as long as it looks good for your man. -
John Kerry Is Not An Idiot
Joey Balls replied to true_blue_bill's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Well let me ask you this..why won't Bush release ALL of his military records..including the time he was AWOL from 'Bama? And to this day NOBODY has ever proven the 60 minute documents as forgeries. -
John Kerry Is Not An Idiot
Joey Balls replied to true_blue_bill's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't know what that means? All I know is this group of partisan folk (O'Neil-Texas..go figure) who served, and not always, or ever, with Kerry were given carte blanche to make believe nonsense and the mainstream media played it up...including this one Network based out of somewhere in Maryland was allowed to broadcast a partisan documentary a month before the election...thus violating FCC rules and regulations. Doesn't really matter though because Kerry deserved to lose. -

Shame the swiftboat thing is always going to linger around Kerry, but the mainstream media never did enough to even try to rebuke the partisan attacks. Just bad for this nation... Still Kerry is such a political opportunistic hack..in ways worse than Hillary, that anything he says now should just be taken with some consideration of his sad sack bitterness over not being able to take advantage of somebody who was mentally disabled in the last US presidential election. -
John Kerry is an idiot!
Joey Balls replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Pelosi's villification by the right is laughable, almost text book Rove: take an issue the candidate/party "symbol" has a strong history of, like family values (Pelosi is happily married with five kids), and twist and pollute it with bumpersticker crap like "SF liberal" while failing to acknowledge your own party's deceit in a cover-up of explotation of high school kids attempting to acquire valuable knowledge on our governmental system. ...well.....I guess they learned it. -

Joey Balls replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
In the grand scheme of things why does kerry's comment matter? A flip floping loser of a presidential candidate decides all of a sudden he's going to go righteous...so he thought...by appealing to the basest instincts of the leftist pacifists, instead winds up becoming a leper and messing up his party's chances for this nation's wishes for a balanced government. Yik! -
Bill Clinton's 60th birthday bash
Joey Balls replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Here's to us Leos! About Presidents and parties: I'm pretty sure W would probably have to pay people to come to any party of his...and even then he might have some difficulties. What is certain is many Republican congressional candidates certainly don't want him around any party of theirs....though his wife recently blew into town to stump for Reynolds. You know it is bad when they send the wife. -
Bill Clinton's 60th birthday bash
Joey Balls replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This strikes me as odd for a number of reasons, first and foremost I had always thought Clinton was born in August. Secondly I found it strange that an ex-president would be charging his friends to come to his party. And lastly he hires dull, plodding BRITISH geezers as his talent. You're telling me there's no good up and coming young American artists? -
Michael J. Fox vs. Rush Limbaugh
Joey Balls replied to inkman's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No matter what your point of view might be on stem cells the ad is certainly one of the lamest retorts I've seen since last week's Tom Reynold's "apology". It's almost as lame as that ad against Harold Ford that has drawn a lot of controversy lately. Can't anyone do good political ads anymore? Probably the best one I've seen this season is in Ohio by Democrat candidate Wulsin against the loathsome incumbant Jean Schmidt, who bears a striking resemblence to Nurse Diesel in High Anxiety. -
Both these "candidates" are dreadful but at least be thankful that Allen, who was being foisted upon by many in the mainstream media as a potential frontrunner in the Presidential sweepstakes of '08, was exposed for the confederetro freak he truly is.

Michael J. Fox vs. Rush Limbaugh
Joey Balls replied to inkman's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I was surprised too given the legs of the story...considered starting a thread after listening to Limbaugh's weak response to the controversy on his afternoon program then thought better of it. Why dignify a thrice married, deaf pill popping moron with a response? -
Tom Reynolds is uniquely qualified for pure dickdom accolades thanks in no small part to his laughably disengenuous TV ads, where he not only claims to have saved the Niagara Falls Air Force Base after of course voting with his fellow GOP bloc to recommend the base for closing, but also so pathetically unconvincing in an apology ad for the La Cage Au Foley cover-up featuring Reynolds bloated, porcine mug in full close-up once again trying to pass the buck. He got some good news today however when Bush declared Erie County a disaster area after the bizarre Friday the thirteenth storm, and you can betcha Reynolds will milk that for all it's worth in upcoming ads, being as truthful and as self-congradulatory as he has been in every one of his previous nonsense ads.

While Keanu was just a "Replacement" which is slightly better than JP

Two more weeks until fat GOP congressional pig Tom "Sweatin' like Nixon" Reynolds is purged from the 26th congressional district of NY. This pile of bacon fat has done absolutely nothing for WNY, almost lost are Base in the Falls and did nothing for Delphi workers and is in the hip pocket of the pharm companies. All together WNY: "Happy days are here again......"
-
I'm tired of seeing our QB Keanu louse things up. This moron should join Rob Johnson in the hottub in SloCal tomorrow. Everytime he throws a long pass he goes "whoa...that was cool". I took off after the third quarter of the Pats game that was how pathetic he was. Actually the whole team sucks. If I have to watch one more game where Willie McGee dances to the line of scrimmage for one yard I'll scream.

Joey Balls replied to Joey Balls's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Though there is a thread on this board for a possible Democratic takeover of congress your post does bring up some interesting points and reasons why Republicans/Conservatives and Evangelical minded voters may stay away from the polls this year...so I'll give my thoughts here. My opinion is that the Republican party is more diverse than most would think, and they only seemed to lose their way when they decided to march in lockstep behind George Bush following the 911 crisis. That is why you are currently seeing a backlash from not only certain senior members of the congress, conservative media and party loyalists but many independents who usually sway elections. From the ill fated decision to invade Iraq to non-stop spending to betraying the Christian base it has all left a bad taste in the mouths of true conservatives. That isn't to say I believe the Republicans will lose the House and Senate (they won't-the Democrats are a joke) but they might have given enough people reason to question the party's motivation and more importantly their ideals. -
I stopped to by a pack of smokes at the corner of Elmwood and Amherst tonight and there was the Lake playing the best of nostalgic happy jam rock.

My folks live over on Stevenson and they tell me things are improving, though they are still without power. Today they offered some drive by business 200 bux to clean up the front and back yard and they accepted. Did a great job according to the parentals. I thought things were bad over on the West Side of Buffalo until I took the 5 mile trip to Amherst late Saturday afternoon. A real eye opener to be sure.

What a Dem takeover of Congress would mean...
Joey Balls replied to jimshiz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yeah, another great job by the mainstream media covering that baby. And I still shake my head in bemusement that over half the American populace thinks Saddam had something to do with 911. Idiots, on both counts.
