  1. We have some unique characters in this facility. He's the oddest of the oddest.
  2. What's his second obsession? Aspiring to be weird? If that is the case then he has achieved his goal.
  3. Did you write your post before or after you took your heroin shot? Weren't you warned about the perils of mixing in fentanyl? When in a stupor sometimes lucidity can be very elusive.
  4. You are a big slickster trickster. You are not going to send him one of your standard expiring $100 Taco Bell gift cards that is only redeemable in Haiti. Every since you moved to the Big Easy you have mastered the art of the hustle. The Jesuits may have taught you the rosary but they did not offer a course in street smarts that you now have obviously mastered.
  5. However one looks at the issue there are difficult choices to make. Obviously financing is a big issue. But in some respect that is one of the simpler issues when considering the other problems associated with building a new facility somewhere.
  6. Don't the Bills own land adjacent to the stadium to fit in a new stadium? If they do it would work out well because they can keep their current training facilities at the same location where a new stadium would be built. My understanding is that building a new facility at the same location is one of the options being considered??
  7. You pointed out that there were people who believed that Peterman was going to lead the team to the playoffs and a winning season. I am saying that that sentiment was a distinctly minority view.
  8. Those people who thought that Peterman was going to be our long-term franchise qb were delusional. That was not close to being the prevailing view. Without question it was a distinctly a minority view. At best he was going to be a holding place qb until the next draft. There was no secret about the fact that the McDermott regime was going to use the next draft to acquire their franchise qb.
  9. The people who advocated for building a New Peace bridge to replace or augment the decrepit old bridge know exactly what you are talking about.
  10. The Pegulas are well aware that wherever they decide to build a new stadium (if they do) they will be bearing the brunt of the cost of the stadium. And they are sophisticated enough to realize that building within the city is going to be extraordinarily complex financially, politically, legally and time consuming. I just don't see that type of daunting challenge materializing within the city and the waterfront. It wouldn't surprise me that when their own feasibility study is completed the most reasonable option will be either dramatically renovating the current stadium or building a new stadium on the land near where the current stadium resides.
  11. I don't know anyone who believed that Peterman was going to lead the team to the playoffs and/or a .500 + record. That is a fabrication. If there were people who had that delusional belief they were fringe believers far away from the mainstream thinking on the qb. The overwhelming consensus was that none of our qbs were genuine franchise qbs. You are entitled to your opinion. However, making up stuff does not enhance one's credibility; it sabotages it.
  12. The attached link is a BN mailbag responses to hockey questions by reporter Lance Lysowski. Much of the piece centers on the Risto issue and what his value is on the market. The over-riding question hovering over this team is whether it has improved enough to move ahead of teams that have also improved? https://buffalonews.com/2019/08/01/buffalo-sabres-nikita-gusev-jimmy-vesey-marcus-johansson-nhl-analysis-2019/?utm_campaign=things-to-know&utm_source=home&utm_medium=
  13. What a beautiful throw. The accuracy and touch were impeccable.
  14. You can't teach stupid. It comes naturally to a large segment of the population.
  15. If a team feels that a contract is so onerous there is a simple solution: Don't sign the player and use your cap money for other players. The players (for the most part) who are signing these very extended and expensive contracts are the elite players in the league. If an organization doesn't believe that in the long run the value is there for them then they should not sign the player at such a premium cost. No one is being compelled to do anything that they don't want to do. You make decisions and then live with the consequences. That's life.
  16. He's a tremendous player but his durability has been going down. His knees have been worked on so much that they are at a bone on bone level. According to him and his reps his disgruntlement is centered around how the medical staff has mishandled him, and he also has issues with Allen, the GM. Is money really the center of his holdout? I'm not sure. But the reality of this harsh business is that he knows that he is on the backside of his career and that he wants to maximize his earnings before he departs the game. Again, he is one of the best in the business and a respected leader on his team. For where the Bills are at in their development he wouldn't be a smart acquisition for us.
  17. I have never considered our sparring in a hostile way. It's the opposite of that. Although the Orleans gumbo might have turned you into a hardhead that doesn't mean that I should stop trying to penetrate that impermeable wall. From my perspective the Peterman issue will play out and resolve itself, so I am not troubled by it. It seems that Gruden is more enamored with him than most. So the vilified qb should have no complaints about being afforded an extended opportunity. side note: If you go to the Gogriffs.com basketball website you will notice that Witherspoon is relying more on JUCO and graduate transfers to make up for the players who are prematurely leaving. When you have a tool box it would be foolish not to use all the tools at your disposal.
  18. A fifth round drafted qb struggled when he rather got thrown into the fray. It's not surprising that he struggled. Because of his difficulties I'm not going to forever write him off. If you want to that is fine. While you have closed the book on him and written him off I have not done so, at least not in such an absolutist way. He's still in the league battling for a job as a backup qb. I'm going to allow him the opportunity to show whether he has the ability to earn a roster spot as a backup. If he doesn't make it then so be it. I just don't understand your (and others) hostile fixation on him and chortling toward him. My position is let the process run its course. The outcome will be the outcome and speak for itself. The issue of being proven right or wrong is not the issue.
  19. A determination can't be made until the story is finished. He's still in the league vying for a role on a team. I have no interest in proving myself right or wrong. What I have been saying is let this saga play out and the outcome will speak for itself. You don't need to hyperventilate on this particular player. There are plenty of other mediocre talents in this league to draw your scrutiny. Just let this particular object of your haranguing go!
  20. I haven't heard the "poor Nate" talk coming from anywhere. I don't know where that notion is coming from or what it is based on. He is going to compete for a roster spot. The coaches are going to judge him on his performance and then make a judgment. You act as if there is a conspiracy to keep him in the league. That's a ludicrous position to maintain. The Raider roster will be worked out as it will be for every team in the league.
  21. He has every right to compete for a job just like everyone else. You may not believe it but he will be judged on his performance. If it is good enough he will make the roster. If it is not good enough he will not make the roster. Stop haranguing him.
  22. Simple story. He is competing for a job. If he earns a position then he earns a position. If he doesn't earn a position then he doesn't earn a position. I don't understand why that would bother you so much? We don't need to continue going around in circles on this issue. It will play out one way or another.
