  1. I don't know if this is still a hangover from the Bears and Lions games...But the thing that worries me more than our QB's lack of consistency is the lack of fire and spunk by the entire team but especially the offense - all around...No cheerleaders on this team except maybe Fletcher and Royal - that's what's disheartening...Someone just needs to light a fire somewhere - soon... See what CNN/SI's Don Banks has to say: "I was wrong. I thought the Bills (2-5) would put forth their best effort in weeks and give New England all it wanted Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium. After all, the Bills in Week 1 went into Foxboro and outplayed the division's best team, leading 17-7 at the half before losing 19-17. But Buffalo, which has lost three in a row and been outscored 88-30 in those games, didn't get close to making the plays that counted against the Patriots. Dick Jauron's team showed virtually no spunk against New England and consistently found a way to shoot itself in the foot. And I'm beginning to think that third-year quarterback J.P. Losman just isn't going to make it in Buffalo, no matter how much patience is shown by the Bills on his behalf. Losman had three fumbles against the Pats, losing two, and threw his sixth interception of the season."
  2. Cutler will a very good QB. I have a feeling he'll have a great career. Young and Leinart might have better days individually in this league. But as far as team success is concerned. He'll be the second coming of Elway in Denver. The guy has "IT"...in bucketloads...I think we did the right thing in not drafting a QB in the draft. But I wish we had drafted Cutler... Charles
  3. There was a rumor about a week to 10 days ago that AZ might trade Leonard Davis their LT who wants a big contract. If that is so, the Bills should do it. If he is on the downside, I'll take that over Gandy's upside. That way we can protect our QB's blind side for at least 3-4 years.
  4. Unless the Bears D is just too damn fast and it will get our QB killed...Not an Xs and Os guy - just wondering...
  5. Given his antics and drama over the past few years and *if* it's true he attempted suicide, then I think it is bi-polarism. I've lived with people in my family who are bi-polar and this seems classic. I'm surprised he wasn't diagnosed prior to this episode. Rosenhaus should have looked out for his client - but he's an idiot...
  6. The Chargers made out like bandits...He's a good team guy and will be an asset in the development of Rivers. The Titans are beginning to look like the future LA Titans...
  7. Yeah, I think once the younger players get some seasoning and some of the older vets get replaced by younger vets - I think we'll just be fine. Part of the reason guys like Fletcher are vital is cause they've seen everything and can adjust on the fly...No need to wait for coaching to point it out... God, i sure hope the spend a lot of time in film study this week, just to cut down on some of the bonehead penalties... At least, we won't be playing the refs this week - at least I don't think so...
  8. Against teams in rebuilding mode They don't actually have a stellar offense - if they come up against teams that can slow their run, they are in trouble...Their next four games are not cake by any stretch of the imagination...If they win half, I'd be unpleasantly surprised... Charles
  9. I think I laughed even at the Greggo headset comment But my fave is the Jauron on a moped one...How true, how true...
  10. I don't remember hearing this and the last source I want to trust is RealFootball but: "Tucker's only vast experience for one season came in 2004, when he started 12 games for Buffalo. On an offensive line that was average at best, he was one of the few unexpected bright spots. He took five penalties and allowed just 2 ½ sacks that season, while helping the Bills make a late-season playoff push. He was released after the season, thanks to a spat with Buffalo's ex-, robot-esque general manager, Tom Donahoe." (Source:The real reason why Tucker was released? Interesting...anyone can confirm? Where's BillsBabe when you need her? Charles
  11. Maybe it's just the optimism of August, but I have been so impressed by what our front office and coaches have been doing in pre-season. I thought making Jauron our coach was a blah move - but Gawd I think so far he's been a magnificent coach. Not showy. Business-like. Intense but compassionate. I think he's the right coach at the right time. No one is pulling the wool over our eyes. No one is under any illusions. It seems when there is a problem on the field they move to address it. I love it that they're not treating the fans like idiots. Most of all, they're letting the best players fight themselves into the lineup. Who knows what the season holds, I suspect we'll be down more often than not on Mondays. There will probably be a fair bit of tweaking and adjustments thru the season and next offseason with the hopes of mounting a serious challenge next season. But, I'm looking to be pleasantly surprised. At least, I haven't cancelled my Sunday Ticket. There seems to be a cloud or veil lifted from One Bills Drive. None of the paranoia and arrogance that seemed to permeate the atmosphere during the previous regime. Folks seem to be happy over there...I hope that's a good sign. "Shiny, happy people holding hands?" Let's hope so... Charles
  12. KFFL's Hot Off The Wire is reporting that Jon Goldsberry (FB) and Coy Wire (SS) did not practice either. Though it was citing their injuries as probable excuses. So given the positions (including WR) and seeing how deep the roster is at those positions, I think it's reasonable to presume that this is the first wave of cuts. Charles
  13. I watched Cutler play here at Vanderbilt. Though I think it's way too early to say he's gonna be great in the NFL, I think he'll be very, very good...Way better than say a Delhomme or Kerry Collins. If I had to guess, I think he'll be in the Donovan McNabb class of QB. Albeit with less mobility... Charles
  14. Touche...c'mon you love this stuff...admit it...I bet you read and re-read your posts here just to boost your "rockin" ego... Have a happy...
  15. Wow, that was an eloquent response...What's with the profanity, big cat? Apparently, *you* don't rock, either...
  16. yeah, I don't know how much country radio is a barometer of country music anymore. NRTMN is top 40 on ITunes and the album is #1. Same on Amazon.
  17. What he said...
  18. Woo-hoo, I'll be at the game...
  19. Anybody else picking it up...? Charles
  20. All I know is that when I saw a Bills game with Flutie in it, I had hope we could pull out a victory. Now, I just hope we don't embarrass ourselves... All this megalomaniac Flutie stuff apparently didn't bother his teammates enough to not publicly canvas in the media for him to start ala Bruce Smith, Eric Moulds et. al. I can't remember anyone doing that for Johnson. I don't hate RJ but really can you think of anyone else in recent Bills memory (with the exception of Lonnie Johnson) who was less deserving of the buffalo on his helmet? I once met Doug at a Wegmans publicity junket. He was nothing but gracious. He embodied the spirit of Buffalo at least for a short time. Fans of other teams wished there was a player like Flutie on *their* teams. I remember Titans fans here in NashVegas saying we had that playoff game all wrapped up before anyone played a down. The sentiment down here was that Flutie is just gonna "kill us (Titans)." The truth of the matter is we had a huge psychological advantage going into that game. RJ, for better or worse, didn't bring that to the table. That was a terrible call on Wade's (actually, I think it was really Ralph's) part. We lost that game (and Ultimately our way into the future of this franchise) after a bad special teams play. I still believe to this day that it wouldn't have come down to that one play if Doug was in for that game. You have a right to hate or like the guy. I don't care either way if you do or don't. He might have had his 'short'comings on and off the field. But, I think we forget that like him or hate him, for a time there there was much rejoicing in Bills-land because we Billieved and there was hope. That's more than I can say now... Best. Charles
  21. Oh, in the grand scheme of things, I think it would be hard to screw up that #8 pick. Williams notwithstanding (as much as I hated stuff TD did, I don't think you can blame him for that pick. A whole bunch of draftniks thought it was a great pick at the time. McKinney (our other possible choice) is now facing prison charges...) I really don't care either way. I'm just confounded by the logic *against* Ngata...Just wanting some clarification... Charles
  22. Well, I don't want to get into all of that...I'm just stupified that someone (Ngata that is) with so much talent and natural ability can't be coached to excel in our system. Again, I have not seen him or Bunkley play - but all this talk of one gap or two gap tackles - I just don't get it. If he's a monster athlete and all indications are that he is - them why won't Ngata work? He's apparently quick for a big guy and intimidating. To add to that, I think his character is beyond reproach. Here are their profiles. It seems to me as far as strengths, weaknesses these guys are almost a wash. Add to that that Bunkley has a history of pretty serious injuries, I don't know...None of these guys are sure things - but if I were a betting man - Ngata has the better upside... Haloti Ngata Brodrick Bunkley Charles
  23. I haven't seen this guy play - but there has been some talk lately that this guy is just a space eater and not too quick. I am no expert - but doesn't knifing thru a special teams wall to block a kick and then running with with the ball qualify as pretty dang quick? Can someone elaborate on just why he wouldn't work in "our" new defensive scheme? ESPN's coverage on Haloti Ngata Thanks Charles
  24. Ralph is a friggin' genius of a businessman...I'd hate to face him in a boardroom...:-)
  25. Gosh, everybody just needs to relax...We'll have great value at #8 - no matter whom we pick or if we decide to trade down. I have more trust in our present regime to get evaluate and get what we need than the previous "brain trust." I don't think there's a position we couldn't get better at,so unless we end up drafting a 7th round projection...I think I'll live...
