  1. I don't know why we try to outsmart ourselves...Just play Moats outside. Sheesh...Spell whomever is in front of him. He had a killer season last year. Leave him be.
  2. I'm not questioning our posters' IQs, I'm questioning the Front Office's IQ. Draft picks are a question of supply & demand. Chris Chambers was traded for a 2nd Round pick. Evans was worth at least a 3rd. He could have easily been traded later in the season - the deadline is mid Oct. I would have gladly carried him for a month in order to get a better deal. Trust me - the fifth string in our WR corps is not a precious commodity. Evans is. Check out this article: Moving On W/Out Evans or this: Matthews On Evans Trade
  3. Take a look at the Fitz interview on the D&C site. The team is demoralized. I'm all for giving young players a chance to shine, but there are intelligent ways to do it. You don't do it by giving a moderately productive, respected vet away for a box of tape. That's just dumb ass. If you don't think teams plan for Evans and that opens up other receivers than you don't understand the game. He may have been a one trick pony, but it was a pretty cool trick... All I'll say is that the majority of posters on this board collectively have a higher football IQ than our front office and our owner. C
  4. I was one of the folks who thought we should have made moves like Miami and Dallas did when they gave Parcells the keys to the kingdom (well, maybe not so much in Dallas - cause we know who's God there). Just goes to show that all that glitters isn't gold. Parcells' Pollution
  5. Thanks for pointing that out. Maybe I misheard him about Gabbert throwing.
  6. I had hand surgery back in January. My hand surgeon used to be a college level athlete in basketball in a top SEC team. He is now an expert in hand trauma and a nationally recognized microvascular surgeon. I met with him this afternoon for a follow up appointment. We spent about 5 mins discussing my hand and the rest of the 20-25 minute appt talking the NFL Draft. This past weekend he was at the scouting combine checking out players for the Titans. And he says off all the QBs he saw Gabbert would be the guy he would take. Hands down (no pun intended). He looked the part and there was a presence about him he said. He also made all the throws and is in great physical shape. He also seemed to have above average intelligence. He says Mallet looked the worse physically - had "man boobs." He said the best lineman he saw was Marcell Dareus (over Fairley). And finally he said the best prospect overall - was Julio Jones (4.38 40, unbelievable vertical),WR. Big, strong and athletic. He had him better than AJ Green. So obviously my doc doesn't need to coach and play these guys - but this was his 2 cents. C
  7. I remember reading a while back that GB coveted Losman and that Rodgers was their consolation prize. Damn! Again, it's the way the organization is run. We have awesome fans - but GB has a much better winning tradition and mystique. They're also better run - so much more so.
  8. The best source for Senior Bowl info, IMHO is http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/SeniorBowl/Senior-Bowl.php
  9. He knows her.
  10. Nice to hear. I love our "rolling ball of butcher knives." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/peter_king/01/18/nfl-all-pro-team/index.html Do we like Peter King or don't we? C
  11. Knopfler was a great influence on my playing & writing. Living in Nashville I got to meet him after an interview. Seemed rather detached and "off" - or maybe he was just stoned...
  12. We should have had one - Ngata! Instead we have Lil Donte.
  13. Given the fact that Cowher and some other name coaches are still available, it's amazing to me some of the "lower profile" coaches that have been hired to fill vacancies. Ie. Shurmur & Rivera. Can you imagine if the Bills had done this? We'd have been raked over the coals. I like Rivera. Think he'll do well. But all the name/hot coaches of last season have kinda faded into the wallpaper with the exception of Frazier. I'd argue that Gailey has a better resume than Shurmur and possibly one other. I think history will show that we should have hired Frazier. But all things considered I think we could have done a lot worse than Gailey. C BTW, I wonder what Fassel ever did to be ostracized by the NFL. Same thing with Mariucci.
  14. According to ESPN http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2011/news/story?id=5988254
  15. He's the kind of player Jeff Fisher likes. Wherever he ends up - if they don't have a legit QB - expect him to deal for Orton. Unless he goes to Carolina. In which case, he'll draft Luck. Presuming Luck comes out.
  16. The biggest joke is no Peyton Hillis. WTF?
  17. I would love to see a Marv interview on that season esp the draft. Don't think it will happen. C
  18. the dude is probably the best pure athlete on this team next to Spiller and maybe Johnson. Unfortunately he ain't that smart. He just needs to be slapped upside the head a few times. Just have Kyle Williams or Troup sit on him every time he loses the ball. He'll be fine. C
  19. Kyle "Sweeney Todd" Williams - The Butcher of Buffalo.
  20. Sure thing. Have gotten great viewing heads up from other folks here before. Happy to return favor.
  21. yeah, me too. But you know small market teams with the exception of GB always get shafted.
  22. For those that didn't get to watch the game Sunday. And for those that get the NFL Network. Game on 9:15 tomorrow night/Eastern. http://bit.ly/gGMJAg C
  23. What he said Buffalo West. Mr. Weo is right on. I would also throw in therapy for good measure. Our organization has been dysfunctional for a decade. Mularkey quitting was the least of our problems. He could have stayed and been run out of town. Neither is/was solely of his making. C
  24. Gordon Gee used to be my Boss. As in the ultimate chief. Let's just say he marches to the beat of his own drummer. Nice fella. Very personable. But he restructured Vanderbilt Athletics so that there was no Athletic Director and now we have some academic dean type administrator running athletics. His ex-wife was also reprimanded for smoking pot in the Chancellor residence. So I wouldn't read too much into his quotes. C
  25. Goes to show how much a decent QB makes everyone else on offense look better. Flutie kinda did the same thing when he took the reigns here in Buffalo. But i sure hope we draft Luck regardless. As much as I love Fitz, I'm not sure he's the long term answer. This way we have the luxury of sitting a rookie 1-2 yrs.
