  1. I'm with you NOVA. Odds are long no doubt, but I'm not giving up yet. Not until we're mathematically eliminated, then it's on to spoiler duty. Just win. Go BILLS !!
  2. Hmmm. When did this happen? I didn't know that. Have the docs give him a once over, and if not him, then someone else. The need does exist.
  3. I like Aaron Williams. It's nice that he wants to take a veteran leadership role on the team. I hope he can do that. At the beginning of this year he was far from that with his immature shenanigans during the first Patsies** game which played a big role in digging us into a big hole early. I found the following excerpt interesting: The bolded part is what I thought all along. Rex or Doug or whoever didn't want the team leader to be an aging RB. He wanted it to be Tyrod. It's Tyrod''s team. Tyrod wouldn't be leader as long as Fred was here. So move Fred along. Too bad it didn't work out that way. I do find it encouraging that several players have come out and said they bought into hype and the team needs to be more disciplined and the team lacks leadership. Hopefully the players can pull together and we can achieve this in spite of Rex.
  4. Just watching "The Timeline". In playoffs Roger comes off the bench in the 4th quarter and brought Cowboys back from down by 15 to win. That is the key element of being "The Guy" that TYrod is sorely lacking presently. Until he can do that, he won't be. I hope he can learn or develop this skill. However I'm not sure it is something that can be learned or developed. We'll see.
  5. That's alright. You'll get the last laugh in a couple of weeks when our team is in the playoffs and hers is not.
  6. My choice would be Lagarrete Blount. Karlos is JAG that can't stay healthy. We need someone so our run game keeps on chugging when McCoy goes out for a blow.
  7. And another good RB who can suit up to spell McCoy.
  8. I have no problem going forward with Tyrod, unless we find someone better.
  9. We've had 5 different DCs in the last 5 years and 3 different OCs and 3 different HCs.
  10. That too is football. When other teams win games like this it's because they do anything to win and don't give up.. Their star comes up with miraculous catch and it's because he's awesome and the great QB they have put it right where only his guy could catch it. When we do, it's luck and really shouldn't even be counted as a win. We were smart enough to give up 2 first round picks to get Sammy for the sole purpose of making plays like that. Kills me that you call it luck or fluky. I call it skill. This is the pick play I was talking about: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2014100502/2014/REG5/bills@lions?icampaign=GC_schedule_rr#menu=gameinfo|contentId%3A0ap3000000405381&tab=videos This is NOT a gift, but the missed FGs were? What about Carpenters miss? Not to mention we had a fan shooting a laser pointer into Kyle and Dan's eyes in the 4th quarter. As far as the Patsie** win yall like to discount I think of it as only fair. We have to play those punks twice a year every year. 1/2 the league only plays them once every four years and 3/4s of the remaining half only play them once every 3 years. They pull their starter ONCE to save him for the playoffs. I call it a win because we won, but otherwise it is poetic justice. We get a break once in 12 years, boohoo. we suck.
  11. Just to refresh your memory on the "fluky missed-FG squeaker", their kicker missed 3 FG netting us 9 would be points. Our QB delivered a pick six right into one or the Lion DBs bread basket and our kicker missed 1 FG netting them 10 points. We gave them more than they gave us and beat 'em. That's football. Did you see in SB XLIX that NE won because of a fluky interception play? I guess they weren't all that good either.
  12. Why does Mario have to go? He played OLB in Houston, was effective, and liked it. What Mario doesn't like is dropping into coverage and otherwise not getting after the QB.
  13. If Pettine get fired in Cleveland he will not be a hot commodity with lots of options I wouldn't think. He ran a top 10 (10) defense in Buffalo 2 years ago. His team in Cleveland has been horrible. Probably not all his fault, but the buck stops with the HC. His career will be a major reclamation project. If he came back here and turned our 20th ranked D back to top 10, he may get more opportunities.
  14. For now, WC game. Once we hit that, I'll revise. But as of right now, PLAYOFFS.
  15. Another of which would be the Patsies**
  16. I was just questioning if Aaron is that big of a loss that an excuse is needed for him. He didn't help us all that much in the little bit of time he did play. He too totally bought into the same hype that Mr. Big Stuff did. Had Nigel made that tackle we would have still been in position to win the game if our Offense could do anything (which is a whole other story). One missed tackle can have a huge impact on the game as we saw. But, let's dismiss it as no biggee. Call a 3 TD 24 point game a "stout performance" if you want. I don't. You have a different opinion on that. Cool.
  17. I think it did. And how was the Giants game a stout performance? Eli threw 3 TD passes in that game. Nigel's missed Tackle turned what should have been a loss into the dagger TD. In the Patsies** game which you toss out, poster boy Aaron Williams put us in a huge hole with his poor play/immature shenanigans. As far as the injuries I disagree there as well. Every team has injuries. And as far as seasons usually go, injuries have been light on D IMHO.
  18. I don't disagree with your overall point. However, the D still sucked even before Kyle and Aaron Williams and Nigel now Gilmore went out.
  19. It's true. Contrary to popular TBD belief the season is not over. We have long odds and need help. But, we ARE still alive. Look it up.
  20. Thanks for your well written response. I'm still going to disagree with you though. You win with great players, not more pretty good players. At the time we had a whole team of pretty good guys or worse. We tried that strategy through the Jauron and Gailey years with no success. Sammy with his elite skills has had a definite impact on the bottom line (Wins) that a lesser player simply couldn't do. The Minnesota game last year immediately comes to mind. I believe it to have been a good trade that has payed off for us. True, we might have taken Eric Ebron as projected and another so-so player in 2015. So in terms of quantity we would been ahead, but perhaps not in quality. I like our approach now of trying to get some horses we can hang our hat on like Sammy, LeSean, and Clay.
  21. Any coach/GM/player who even thinKs about tanking while his team still has a chance to make playoffs (like we do) no matter how long of a shot it is, should be **** canned on the spot IMHO.
  22. So what do we do? Not try to get good players because we don't have a golden armed "franchise QB"? Then we'll still suck. take a look at the San Diego Chargers. I loved the Sammy move because we DIDN'T have a good QB. Get someone who can catch footballs that aren't perfectly thrown to compensate for our bad football throwing QBs. made perfect sense to me and still does. Sammy was right. He needs 10 targets a game.
  23. Which 2 games? Tennessee I take it and what other game?
  24. We still have a chance to make the playoffs and it's too late now. If we don't win another game the best we can do is around 10 or so. Why bother?
  25. Defenders can now be called offsides if they lean into the neutral zone without making contact before the football is snapped IF any offensive lineman stands up and points at him. How is it the same?
