Not sure if this is something you heard or something you’re suggesting. But either way, if the west coast states wanted to secede and the US allowed it, what makes them think that the rest of the country would just let them have all three states in their entirety? What would stop the US from carving small portions of those states out and allowing the small portions to secede? Leaving the union isn’t an option. You would have to fight your way out. There’s no way they win that fight. At best they would tuck their tales and take the scraps the rest of the country gave them.
