Obama seeks ability to seize businesses

Just giving a comparison for those that may have been less knowledgeable about the Midwest. It also goes to show why blanket taxes for income levels aren't as fair as they look on paper. -
The Consummate Professional:

Bah...No one remembers the classics. I can't picture Frankenstein without seeing either Phil Hartman (but Dean already grabbed that one) or Peter Boyle. Although Hardy's pretty tall. If he actually dressed up like Frank, and danced a bit, I think you might have some comedy gold there. -
I had read that his Pro Day went well, and people were impressed. Orakpo does not disappoint at Texas’ Pro Day Did you read something else?

I bet the second time tastes worse than the first. I don't know about Hardy's Frankensteinesque running, but you should see the man puttin on the ritz. -
Record Flooding in North Dakota - where's Obama?
Joe Miner replied to VABills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Top ten reasons (in any order) Obama doesn't help ND: Pelosi hasn't told him to He hates whitey He prefers South Dakota Geithner's coming out with a plan to help anytime now... He's already sent them a copy of his Inauguration book and DVD, what more do they want? Hillary won't hit the Reset button to undo the flood He's using the flood to flush out the elusive ManBearPig Fat Teddy told him not to clean the water up yet, he's got a hot date He doesn't see a problem as he can walk on water He inherited the flood from the failed policies of the previous Administration -
Home warranties are good, but be a little careful. Say for instance, in your first year, your hot water heater goes out. You call the warranty people, and they'll send someone to take a look at it. He'll say that you need a new hot water heater. Fortunately for you, you'll only be out $75 for your deductible. But you also may be out some extra cash if there are upgrades that need to be made to your system in order to install the new water heater. Warranty doesn't cover the upgrades since they aren't part of the original home, but the new heater can't go in without them (perhaps code has changed or something like that). But it's still definitely better than getting a new one yourself.

Obama seeks ability to seize businesses

Here's a comparison for some of us Midwestern Folk. In Oklahoma Not sure what the take home pay is after taxes (I'd also assume -6% for 401k), but let's stick with $12.5k/month Mortage - Brand New House 2700sf 4 bed/2.75 bath/DR/Game Room/2 car garage - $1500/month (includes mortgage payment, pmi, home insurance, property taxes) Maintenance - $100/mo? Maybe less, this is a brand new house Car Pmt - 2 Cars (small car and a crossover) - $600/month Car Insurance for the above cars - $120/month Gas for above cars - $150/month (about a tank every 10 days) Garage - $0 Groceries - For a couple - $400/month Utilities (elec/gas/TV/Internet/Phone/Water/Trash)- $600/mo Top Infant Day Care in the City - $1000/month/child Donations - $2500/month (~12% of $250,000) Entertainment - From 0 - $1000/month (I personally couldn't see spending $1000/month, but maybe if you dropped $250 every weekend going out) Toll Roads - $40/month Season tickets to the Thunder (2 floor sets @ $150/ticket, about the best they offer) - $1025/month Total Expenses - $9035/month...I'm running out of extra crap to fluff up my numbers. That leaves about $3500/month for a rainy day fund. But I don't know what else you could buy. I don't know what people consider rich (I still wouldn't call this person rich), but they certainly don't have to worry about money at all. -
Didn't Cincy play against OU this season? How did he do against them? Stat-wise he had 1 solo tackle, 3 assists and a QB hurry. But I didn't actually see the game to know how he looked.

Stallworth was slightly over the legal limit
Joe Miner replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe he woke up with a hangover and went with a little Hair of the Dog that morning. Just enough to bump him back over. Either way, he's screwed. -
Anyone else see this part: New and improved (physically) Poz as well? I've known people that ingested protein like this to add weight and muscle: They have the nastiest farts you will ever smell.

Why doesn't the President STFU and get to work...
Joe Miner replied to Chump Change's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Can he make some of those days up with comp time? Any floating holidays? If he's only gone 1 hour does he have to take a whole day's vacation? How many sick days can he take in a row before needing a doctor's note? How many can he take in a 2 week pay period without needing a note? -
Yeah, those kind of people don't want to work with the selfish crooks and liars that are currently in the gov't.

No sh--. If they were so concerned about how the money needed to be spent, they should have been specific when handing it out, and put oversight in place. Taking it back after they so freely doled it out does nothing but but puts more power into their hands. Besides, the gov't did so well passing out the money the first time, why don't I think they'd do an equally great job taking the money back, and passing it out a second time? -

Well, seeing as how we're on to AIG now. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29724816/ This article gives Obama someone to blame for the AIG mess. Somehow gov't intervention into private business didn't turn out like they thought Oops again -

While technically not a "promise", denouncing something, and then turning around and saying, I'll let it pass if you guys want it seems a little insincere. I just used "promise" because I wanted to use the frowny emote. But I think this idea is also very dangerous. I don't care which side comes up with or enacts the legislation.
