That is, by the way, one heck of an avatar. Well done, good man, well done.

Good morning, Bill. I'll start by saying that I have far less of a clue than most people on this board, and certainly less than you. I love your weekly "Thoughts on the Game" post, and, through them, have learned a thing or two from you. This having been said, my $0.02 is that you have to let go of this "Drafting nothing but the Secondary" bit! It's not healthy, and we need you around here! I'm not denying for a moment that OBD has spent an inordinate amount of time developing: McGee McLovin' Greer Youboty Simpson Whitner Wilson (I know I'm forgetting someone important) That's a heckuva secondary that virtually any team in the league would die for. The challenge for OBD this coming year is not drafting someone else in the secondary, but keeping those that they have in place. I'll be the first to admit that my livingroom still echoes with my "WTF" scream from the Whitner pick, but it looks like the front office knew what they were doing there, doesn't it? I just don't see that OBD is so goddamn ignorant that they'll be spending high draft picks on the secondary. I guess you do. It's okay. Let it go. Learn to focus your ire on the breathtakingly piss-poor ability of this O-Line to learn how to run block. You wanna get pissed off at a coach? Start barking at the offensive line coaching and planning. And then start getting pissed off at the lack of execution of the run blocking by the players themselves. We need that karma directed where it's going to do the most good.

Good job! Reeled in a lot of 'em on that one!

I've got a low spot in my lawn. Let me know when you can spare a box.

Let's review the situation. 1) A ten-year-old box of fructose-saturated starch that sucked gerbil tail the moment it came off the production line. Yummy. 2) Stir in Molson Canadian. 3) Thanks. I'll pass. 4) But you're above-average-cool for offering. Mucho appreciado!

Hope I did this right. Looks like you rock the house! http://www.wellsvilledaily.com/entertainment/x1196568481 Quick question. Have you ever actually EATEN Flutie Flakes? I did, about 10 years ago. Nice name, but they really....er.....sucked. Sorry for the ineloquence.

Please write the Bills off, everyone

I personally try to stay away from this board for a few days after every loss so as to keep clear of the ambulances rolling in and out as they pick up the suicide victims. Is it safe yet? -
And who could blame him, really? The kid walks on as an UFA, and plays himself into a respectable starter. Which is to say, of course, that he's better than probably about 2/3s of the CBs on the field in the NFL at this point. He'll command a big payday, and at 5 years in the league, he's got to think about taking it. Because he's only going to have 2-4 years left.

"...and run wild over them....."? Hope springs eternal! I've been waiting for that for two seasons now! This O-Line drives me nuts. Heaviest in the league, but can't get Lynch two yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Some of those run plays last week had me screaming at Fairchild just out of habit. I would simply LOVE to see the Bills "run wild", but I'm fearing that they're going to be in the usual 4th quarter shootout. And I don't think this is a particularly good team against which one wishes to lock horns in such a fashion.

He may - MAY - be dumb as a bag of beagles, but I'm guessing even Peters can't miss the turn of events over the past week. Let's see if he takes it as inspiration and plays his friggin' brains out in Arizona this week. The Bills are going to need it. This game could turn into a track meet. Three or four touchdowns aren't going to cut it. I was wondering if this thread was going to resurface. It's Saturday night before the game, and it's time to start the pre-tailgate tailgate. Molson Canadian and the Beatles White Album. Fire in the fireplace. The bay is flat calm.

I love how Peter King just can't pick us to win this year
Whites Bay replied to marioc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or, perhaps he's a self-absorbed, delusional mouth-breather who has somehow - against all odds - managed to get himself this incredibly cool gig wherein people on internet boards actually think he knows the difference between inhaling and exhaling? Just a thought. "From Me To You" - The BEATLES -
Kurt Warner walks on water (post two)

Simpleton. Sociology didn't work out, they've switched to meteorology, and are pointing to the heavens to warn us of an approaching cold front. You should be grateful. I sure am. -
Wings. Fine. Be that way. Fine. Oh, it's now "Across the Universe" Pass that toke-generating-device.
-
Oh. Sorry. Dr. Konstantin Frank Chardonnay (2005), and it's pretty much a dead indian. Should have purchased the Dry Riesling, but didn't. On to the Molson Canadian. The music is old Paul McCartney - "Every Night". And he's rocking.
-
True, Senator, but only "at times". You can't (with a straight face) state to me, God, and The Wall, that you'd rather have either Chambers or Walker playing LT on a regular basis. Peters, that pantload, deserves all the fecal surprise that he gets, but he's going to have to play himself back into shape. Soon.
-
Yeesh. Really. Jamie Nails? That's stretching the truth a little harder than Peters' waist band. I'm kind of hammered on Konstantin Frank Chardonnay, so I can't remember the year that Nails went to the Pro Bowl. I could Google it, but that's about 19 keystrokes I just don't have in me....

Another way to think of it, perhaps, is that he's somewheres around June (?). July? August? Certainly not October. I'm not defending the fact that he pulled a bonehead move - he should be speed-dialing another agent. THAT move certainly backfired. But here we are, right? The guy didn't get into playing shape when the rest of the team did, and he's now an albatross. Hang in there. He'll be crushing people by the Jets/Pats* series. But you can kiss that contract good bye, Jason. You've been a naughty, naughty boy.

A Lot Of People Probably Already Know This
Whites Bay replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't you say you were going to do something about the avatar? Or was I just having one of those hopeful moments that arise like mushrooms just before the lawnmower gets its weekly workout? -
Gosh, Senator, no. The Bills are rolling along at 4-0 as a team. Let me repeat that. As a team. Including the back up QB. Fortunately, this is an internet forum populated by impatient, usually-alcohol-soaked fans, and not General Managers. This would NOT be the time to pull the trigger on a tectonic event like trading a VERY EXPERIENCED backup QB on a team that HASN'T MADE THE PLAYOFFS in this century. I really wanted JP to succeed, and you can all search my posts that relate him to being the next Stabler. It didn't happen. But, boy oh boy, am I glad that he's on the bench, one hit away from not only coming INTO a game, but from WINNING a game. That's what this year is about, boys and girls. That's what this year is about.

Perhaps Edwards doesn't have the arm strength, but I'm doubtful that's the case - he seems to be able to wing it 40 yards or more. He's not Losman, but not too many people have that kind of arm. If you're talking deep balls this season, I guess that means Evans. I can't think of one thus far to Hardy, or Reed. Parrish? Someone help me out on that one - I truly can't remember. Evans is awfully fast. I think we've heard "4.3" tossed around here from time to time. I'm thinking that Evans just tends to overrun it with that speed. And that will all change with more playing time together. The fact that they've linked up as much as they have already this year is encouraging. I'm more excited about what they could do (a) later this year and (b) into next year, now that Evans is here for awhile.

How Big Has Josh Reed Been This Year?
Whites Bay replied to Stevie's Johns0n's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reed's nickname this year (in our household) is "Money". 2nd and 7? 3rd and 7? Who gets the call? That guy is money in the bank this year. Watch for him to get a LOT more defensive attention as the year goes on. The best thing that could happen is that I'm wrong on that statement, because that guy is like punching a clock. Money. Automatic. -
Well, pain shots and anti-inflammatories. Trust me - his knee is the size of a cantaloupe right now.
-
I don't want to be a the guy who rains on the parade, but I sprained an MCL a number of years back while skiing in Utah. I'm not Terrence McGee, or anything approaching a professional athlete (well, I was pretty good on the downhill back then), but that knee sure hurt like hell for awhile. I can't imagine sprinting forward and backward against people hauling ass with 4.3 speed with an injury like that. Thank God for the bye week - he may not even be back by then. Nice to have some depth at the position.

So I was working in the Boston area this week...
Whites Bay replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
God, that's a beautiful post. Add this to a Bills win this afternoon, and my day is made.
