  1. I like the idea of splitting him out wide on certain plays, but don't want to see him make a permanent switch. I might be in the minority with the few others who have also said this in the post but I do think he has all the tools to be a good RB. Not sure what you expect to see when he's getting three carriesa game, that's all, if he had close to 10 or 15 a game you'd be seeing a lot more production and you'd be getting some big plays by him. His biggest problem is he's behind one of the hottest backs in the game right now, it's pretty hard to keep Fred off the field.
  2. today it's the defense somewhat keeping us in it though, two very timely picks and some key stops, offense was very slow out of the gate.
  3. Hey what's wrong with my jerseys?
  4. yeah there is a limit I don't know the exact ratios, also not just on the active roster but you can only have a certain amount of non-Canadians on the field at a time as well.
  5. Unfortunately it isn't possible to pluck CFL players of their rosters right now. CFL free agency doesn't start until February so anyone who played in this past CFL season isn't eligible to leave their team because they're still under contract. Players in their option year and players whose contracts expire can sign with an NFL team come February or March so you can expect by that time NFL teams to start making moves. One thing I've noticed, as a CFL fan here in Canada, is that every year it seems there are more and more CFL players getting shots with NFL teams. The majority of them end up back in the CFL by September though, as they become camp casualties. Not sure if you guys remember a receiver by the name of PK Sam. He was an example of one of these players, he broke out as an Argo and then the Bills brought him in for training camp only to cut him by August. Johnson's hair, not sure if Hunt and Bowman are in their contract years, but neither would be a bad option this off-season. I know we might not be looking too closely at running backs but I think one player to watch out for who becomes eligible to leave for the NFL in February of 2012 is RB Cory Boyd of the Argos. He looks like an NFL back and his combination of size and speed is lethal, played just one year in the CFL and was the best in the league by far, brought the Argos from a 3-15 season the year before to 9-9 and a first-round playoff win over Hamilton, all despite having Cleo Lemon at quarterback, who was unarguably the worst QB in the league. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cory_Boyd
  6. Ed Reed and Ray Lewis were saying the same types of things before the game that Randle El just said. How can you tell who's sincere and who isn't?
  7. the comparison is that Spiller and Johnson are the same types of running backs. Which they are... they both get their yards off making the big play, and if you don't get the carris, you're not going to make the big play. if Chris Johnson only got 4 or 5 carries a game in his rookie season, he wouldn't have had near that kind of production.
  8. but we weren't losing yards on the run we were gaining 2 or 3 yards in most instances.
  9. but is there no in between? cleveland they ran the ball up the middle three times, KC they tried to throw downfield three times. why not mix it up? a run here, a pass there, a screen or a quick hitter, you know? it doesn't have to be one or the other. At least try running once.
  10. that's what made me mad, the miscalculation part. Even if you run once or twice, you're gaining positive yards and running the clock down. that way, not only does Lindell at least get a CHANCE to win the game, but if he misses, then it ends in a tie. No like everyone says you don't want to play for the tie, but who's ever heard of playing to lose? also if I recall correctly, were they not in position to at least attempt a game winning field goal if Fitzpatrick wasn't flagged for intentional grounding?
  11. exactly, not ONE run once we got near field goal range. With that amount of time left, run the ball at least once, let the time run a bit, and make it so either you're going to win the game or tie.
  12. Chan Gailey is AWFUL
  13. spiller's got some of the most talent in the NFL. I've never seen a RB as quick as him in Buffalo. He's barely even touched the ball and people are already whining? After a couple of nice runs, the first one which he almost took 92 yards for the TD from the 8, he had Ed Reed and Ray Lewis giving him props, they were saying nice run kid. some of the game's elite players know that this kid is special, but our very own fans are throwing him under the bus? ridiculous, hope this thread is still sticking around when he breaks out and becomes a superstar. A lot of people here are good at acting all tough and right after a couple of bad games. "see I told everyone it was a bad pick."
  14. Not sure Dick Jauron can be blamed here. I sat through yesterday's game thinking this team was never this flat under Jauron. Sure there were blowouts but is it just me or did this team have more fire when Jauron was coaching?
  15. Not the biggest Whitner fan but he's a solid safety. He might not be a superstar and will never be worth the 8th overall pick we used on him, but that's no reason to get rid of him. He's one of our stronger more consistent players on defence. sign JP?
  16. he's great when he plays. I go into every season thinking "this is the season where Poz plays 16 games and shows the league how good he is." It didn't take long for him to prove me wrong for the second year in a row.
  17. Agreed. It's too bad we blew the Maybin pick and didn't take Oher. Then we'd be a QB and a receiver away from having a solid offense with the key pieces.
  18. I feel like I've heard this before
  19. so who will we bring in, surely we won't sit back with just Brohm and Fitz?
  20. As bad as our defense was this game, they made the stop when we needed it. Fitz threw the two key interceptions that killed us. At the same time I was happy with Fitzy's play and if he can play like this all season and continue to make plays, we'll make some noise this year. I can see Fitzpatrick being our backup/mentor/transitional quarterback for whichever young quarterback we end up drafting this off-season.
  21. this game is too obvious. I'm sure everyone here knows what's going to happen: we're going to score the touchdown, then miss the 2 point conversion. Final score - Pats 38 Bills 36. hope I'm wrong???
  22. as soon as Fitz threw that interception I think everyone on this board knew the game was over. Very typical finish for the Bills. Still they showed a lot of promise this week at least...
  23. AWFUL THROW
  24. this is getting bad. give up the 7 here and the pressure's on the offense again.
