  1. But what about the Giants, and for at least a little while longer, the Ravens?
  2. Best news we could have hoped for.
  3. no, nooo! If they're desperate to get rid of Holt, we won't have to trade a mainstay on this team for him. A 6th or 7th round pick, or wait until he's released. Holt is good, but he's not what he used to be. He'd be a veteran addition, so there's no way we give up a player like Reed, who contributes on a regular basis.
  4. A veteran piece to the puzzle can make all the difference in the world. I don't see how having Holt over here could possibly stunt Hardy's growth. Hardy isn't ready to step into a prominent role, and Holt would be the perfect man to do so while Hardy matures. Is it realistic to think the Bills will acquire Holt? Probably not. But would he benefit the team? There's no doubt about it.
  5. In all honesty, from what I saw, if Whitner didn't hit Higgins, then Oakland wouldn't have been flagged either. So either way, neither team would have been affected.
  6. I have been one of Trent's biggest critics since he took over for JP, mostly because I was convinced that JP was the answer for us at quarterback. But, I havn't seen anything to indicate that Trent Edwards has 'a below average arm' for an NFL starter.
  7. The Broncos are 2-0, and the Chargers are 0-2. Should the Chargers be 2-0, and the Broncos be 1-1? Yeah. But, having only played 2 weeks in this young season, what else is there to go by? Right now, it's all about the records. You won't see an 0-2 team about a 2-0 team at any point in time, regardless of how those games went and how those teams looked.
  8. The Bills/Dolphins rivalry is only quiet right now because it's been a while since both teams have been playoff calibre at the same time. You can say the Bills/Pats* have a rivalry, but in all honesty to me, they don't. They havn't had any big games for a while, and for the longest time it's just been the Pats* beating up on the Bills. I thought it might have been more interesting when Bledsoe came to Buffalo, having played for the Pats previously, but it didn't, we still got beat around. Say what you want about our fans hating the Pats*, but take a look around the league - it's like this for any NFL fan. Talk to fans of other teams. I grew up just outside of Toronto, and now I live in Ottawa, and not being in an NFL city, or country for that matter, everyone cheers for different teams. BUT, no matter who I talk to, if they're not a Pats* fan, then they hate the Pats*. To me, it's not a rivalry between the Bills and the Pats*, it's a rivalry between the Pats* and the other 31 NFL teams.
  9. Not to take anything away from Ko Simpson. As far as I can see, his athleticism has really made quite a difference. All we've talked about most of the time is how Stroud plugs up the middle of the line, and the return of Poz. Ko Simpson deserves some credit for sure.
  10. Come on...lighten up a bit.
  11. Koren Robinson honestly makes perfect sense to me. What have they got to lose?
  12. What's with all the Donovan McNabb hate? Looks like he's having a bounce back season. Hopefully he can stay healthy; that division - between the Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys, and who knows maybe even the Redskins - is going to be a tight race from start to finish.
  13. I love this thread hahaha
  14. Whether you like it or not, Jay Cutler is a damn good quarterback, and the Denver Broncos, as a result, are going to be very good for quite a while.
  15. Where in the world do people get the idea that Gibran Hamdan is showing he can be a capable #2 behind Edwards. When has he ever shown that? I know it's unrealistic to expect JP to return to the Bills, but Hamdan is not the answer at #2. An ideal backup quarterback is someone who has plenty of game experience. Someone who's been places before and knows what it takes to step in and play quarterback in the National Football League. Losman has plenty of game experience; two seasons ago he took every single snap for the whole season from start to finish. I'm not arguing that Losman is a better backup than Hamdan because this goes without saying, but when Losman departs there's no way that the Bills will promote Hamdan to #2. He's not a second string NFL quarterback. And if he is, I'd hate to be that team who has Gibran Hamdan as their second stringer, with an injury prone starter just in front of him.
  16. And it was a questionable call at best.
  17. Hey, one thing I have managed to do since arriving here was to get over to Hull and watch the Argos knock off the TiCats on Labor Day. It was just like old times
  18. Thanks for the help everyone, I may just go with the radio on NFL.com for $30/year, it seems reasonable. Go Bills!
  19. I'm very excited about the upcoming season, and since the age of 10 I have missed very few Bills games. I've been a fan since the Flutie days, and now at 18, I'm in Ottawa for University. I'm attending Carleton, and it's my first year here, I'm majoring in journalism. I'll get to the problem. We don't have cable in our dorm rooms, and unfortunately I am the only Bills fan on our floor (and am seriously outnumbered by Cowboys fans), so I won't be able to watch the game anywhere here. I was wondering if anyone knows of any bars in Ottawa, or in Hull QC, where I'd be able to watch the game. I know it's farfetched, because who on here lives in Ottawa, right. But another possible solution I'm wondering about is streaming the game online. I have round the clock internet access, and if there's a way to stream the game online, I'd be all for it and would greatly appreciate some help. I couldn't stand missing the season opener, especially in such an exciting year - I don't recall a single year in which I've been so excited for where this team is headed. Sorry if this is off topic, and feel free to move it if you feel it's necessary. PS. I predict a 10-6 record with a wild-card birth for the Bills this year. I think having 2 reliable quarterbacks gives us a huge advantage, because it's very rare for a quarterback to make it through all 16 games. It's almost inevitable that we'll have to rely on our backup on time or another this season.
  20. You don't mess with the Zohon...
  21. that's the smartest thing you've said all day.
  22. Average kickers are a dime a dozen. It's the ones who don't miss who are really hard to find. I'm definately pretty happy with Lindell, I think he's way underrated outside of Buffalo. That being said, he's replaceable.
  23. If I recall, Felton Huggins was here last year too for a brief period. They just brought him back recently I noticed.
