I am certain there are people on the staff of every coached football team from 7th grade up that tell the head coach the situations so that he doesn't miss something. If you think Tresman didn't know exactly what was going on then that explains a lot. Things you do not know about that situation: What is best strategy for our football team? Does our offense need those timeouts while moving down the field? How do the Ravens play a team with no time-outs vs a team with time outs? Where can we be most likely to succeed based on our scouting of the opponent? Is there a better opportunity for chunk yardage if we have time outs? If we have no time outs are the Ravens going to force us to check-down or force a throw into trouble? Its like MTV used to say: You think you know, but you have no idea.

If you go back and look at the play, it is a run/pass option play. The receivers are running a pick play with in the inside slot (woods I think) running an out pattern. Graham is on the outside running an in pattern. Stevie is running a hitch. It is Cover 0 (straight man with no help from anywhere). There is a LB over Chandler on the backside, and a LB over Fred at the start of the play. Stevie is the THIRD read on the play. The play, because it is a pick, is designed to get the defenders on the outside two WRs to collide, which is exactly what they did. Graham was WIDE OPEN. Where it all went wrong is Stevie beat his defender (the interceptor) so badly the dude couldn't even move. When Tuel releases the football Graham is open. If Smith (the interceptor) does his job and covers Stevie this is an easy touchdown. Go ahead, look at the replay. Pause it at 1:53 seconds, 1:54 seconds and again at 1:55 seconds. Watch it a few times. Tuel made the right read and the right throw against an all-out blitz. It was just a situation of "better being lucky than good." Sucks, but thats what happened. http://www.buffalobi...63-561b53b5f1b4

This thread is why I'm not here as much as I used to be. Its hard reading what people have to say who really don't understand the ins-and-outs of the game of Football. Ugh. Tuel was fine. We knew he would throw INTs. If you were expecting a Brees-like performance you are nuts. He managed the game well. The D played well. Drops, turnovers and mistakes by EVERYONE on the team is the reason for the loss. Tuel's INT at the goal line was tough because it was a 14 point swing, but those things happen to a guy making their first NFL start. He was not the only reason for the loss. He played a fairly good game IMO. You learn from your mistakes and move on. He isn't here to be the starter. He is here to be a backup and he played like a backup. He put us in good spots more often than not.

To those of you who defend Hackett
The Cincinnati Kid replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many of you have called plays in a football game that was for 8th grade level or higher working for the local school district's team? How many of you have put together a game plan? Watched film in order to find your strengths and your opponent's weaknesses? How many of you have coached football that wasn't your kid's peewee team? Once you have experience dealing with real football, then I will listen to your criticism of the Bills OC. IMO most you have no idea what you are talking about. Its part of the reason why you are on the couch come game days. Raise your hand if you've spent hours analyzing the opponent's defense on hudl. -
When I saw he was released by Oakland I thought to myself "I bet there is a thread about tire kicking by morning."

TE Depth a problem?
The Cincinnati Kid replied to SPILLERmadeUmiss's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I read that article I got the impression that this dude has never seen the Bills play. "Continue to LEAN on Lee Smith..." We have never LEANED on Smith. He is a Chandler's back-up. Dickerson is not a converted WR he is an athlete with no real position. He is a WR/TE/H-Back, I guess. Losing Caussin is really not a surprise. I think it was very unlikely that he would have earned a roster spot this preseason. He would have had to take down Gragg and Dickerson. In my opinion this is another hack ESPN writer who read a local headline and then some stats from 2012's season and put it into words. His article makes it obvious that he is slacking on the job. As we always say around here..."Do these guys even watch the teams they cover?" -

The 20 Types of Depressed Sports Fans
The Cincinnati Kid replied to MavBavButav's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am Mostly an 18 and a 20. Every week, I leave the Bills Backers Bar in Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati reminding myself that I have a good week of work ahead of me and that they'll play again next Sunday. Usually I don't want to see them for a very long time after week 17 so I don't mind leaving that one knowing they don't play again for a while. -
I Billieve every year, untill about week 10 when its all "mathematically" over for us. Usually that comes in the middle of a stretch of 7 for our last 8...as losses! GO BILLS! Regardless, I love the Bills and always will. They're in my blood. Sometimes that sucks, but its kinda cool too. I've never wavered, even tho I was 12 the last time the Bills went to the playoffs. Every year I come back with optimism. Always will.

Flap's 53-Man Roster v. 1.0
The Cincinnati Kid replied to uncle flap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whats the PS look like in your scenario? I like your roster, just thinking about who else we keep to develop. I like the WR from E. Wash. Mainly because of his size. -
I really like this draft. I thought we did well and got quality players with a ton of big-time college football experience under their belts. We got big and fast at some positions of need, and we drafted versatile players with toughness. These guys are "football players." You know, guys that just love to play the game and play it fast, hard, and under control.

Today's "What-If" Mock is Bills-49ers Trade
The Cincinnati Kid replied to Astrobot's topic in College Football
I would take that deal. I Would love to pick 31, 34, and 41. I think we could get three quality starters with those picks. Otherwise, we only get 2. 3 is better than 2. Therefore, I like this deal. -
I would like to bring him in a coach.
-
I think it has a lot to do with trades and maneuverability within the draft. I agree, not a huge deal, but it might be the difference between making a trade back into the bottom of the first or not.

Bills PR department questions
The Cincinnati Kid replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read it and I work for the Bills...I got cable, rent, student loans, water, right on down the line... Oh, did you mean the Buffalo Bills? Who cares? I mean, in the end they are doing exactly the same as the rest of us...just working for the Bills. -

After reading those articles, I am in. I would love to see him come in and compete in Buffalo.
