  1. This is a great podcast. Have listened to all 4 episodes and they are great. Such a fun listen!!
  2. At the highest levels the DBs are taught how to properly tackle using their bodies to go through the ball carrier so they don’t blow out their shoulders trying to wrap up bigger players. They teach it and drill it. Believe me or don’t. Most high schools and lower levels won’t teach it because most players are similar sizes. Coombs, while the DB coach at Ohio State, told all us “They’re going to tackle with their bodies so they don’t get hurt. So we teach them how to do it properly.” And then went on to show us the tape and talk us through the drills.
  3. Send me some links of DB tackling Teach/Drill Tape. Would love to be proven wrong. My source is Kerry Coombs. His drill tape is in my collection in my office. Lemme know. If the guys playing on Sundays don’t know how to tackle, where are the players who do? My goodness. What a take.

  5. Any of you guys watching all-22 with an intimate knowledge of the Bills defensive structure and game plan along with the responsibilities of each player on each play? I’m not either. Sometimes DTs have to do the dirty work. Sometimes they create some pocket discomfort that leads to a sack, poor throw, scramble for a short gain and those things don’t have columns. I’m not saying anyone is wrong. He is not making the splash plays that have Jim Nantz showing some very fake excitement. But he might be doing his job and doing it well. Without an understanding of all the nuances of his 1/11th it’s hard for us to say.
  6. Personally I cannot stand Jim Nantz for NFL games and NCAA basketball. I know he quit the Final Four, which is good. He is exceptional for Golf and does that better than anyone. He just isn’t good for football. He has no umph or gusto. My opinion is Kevin Harlan and Gus Johnson are the best play-by-play guys on National Broadcasts.
  7. It could be called a 4:25 kick in Orchard Park featuring two NFL teams. But “NFL GAME OF THE SEASON” is also good. …to each, their own.

  10. This team us being aided by an unusual year in the AFC in general and the AFCE specifically. They’re very good, but I’m not sure they’re better than the 2020 team. Diggs, Poyer, Hyde, Milano, White and Beasley all in their prime with an ascending Allen… I don’t think this team tops that one.
  11. Doesn’t get the call up if he can’t play. Shavers did exactly diddly squat in his opportunity a few weeks ago. So this can’t be worse, I don’t think. Although, that feel strangely like a “famous last words” situation. 🤷‍♂️
  12. Haha I meant the OP Whiskey Breath.
  13. Username checks out.
  14. Do you know why smaller defensive players don’t wrap up most of the time? It is because they would dislocate their shoulders every tackle. They practice tackles the way you see them tackle in games. It’s not that “mOsT nFl PlAyErS fOrGoT hOw To TaCkLe.” It’s because they actually do it the safest way possible. Tell me you watched football before the merger without telling me you watched before the merger.
  15. Understood. The point isn’t about the player as much as it’s about not hanhing your hat on having a guy instead of 2 or 3 or 4.
  16. Just because we drafted a guy doesn’t mean we shouldn’t ever think about getting another guy. Higgins is really good. He would be awesome with Shakir, Kincaid, and Coleman.
  17. Sure, but I was referencing the fact that they kept DK and Lockett along with JSN. So they, like, have weapons at the WR position, instead of a weapon.
  18. I think the better discussion about the Bills seeing the Seahawks is noticing that when they had Lockett and Metcalf they still drafted JSN in round 1.
  19. Brady retired before last season. He calls games on Fox now, I think. I guess it’s not going that well so far, or so I’ve heard. Anyway, that’s probably why he isn’t using more play action.
  20. This is not true. I got knocked out after a helmet to helmet hit and crumpled to the turf. Woke up with the training staff around me. No concussion. My brother is on this board and was the water boy that day. He’ll verify.
  21. Roses are Red, Violets are blue. The Bills will win this game, I believe that to be true. Now, what about that Haiku…?
