  1. I really like the guy. He is oozing with confidence, not only in his words, but also in the fact that he transfered from I-AA Richmond where he was not starting to I-A Troy and won the starting job. The guy knows he can play and at a high level. He won't start this year, but he will make the team (not the practice squad). Unless Trent really shows he is the Man this year, Levi will be starting next season after "winning" the starting job for 2011 in camp. Fitz is a career back-up who will look ok when called upon and will execute game plans to keep his team close (all you can ask from a back-up QB). Brohm has zero faith in his abilities. Its really sad, but the guy just doesn't believe in himself or his talents. It showed up in GB and, in my opinion, in the way he talks to the Buffalo Media. I think he is the odd man out this year. (Is he still eligable for the PS? If so he may end up there.) Levi Brown 2011 and beyond. I really think that he has all of the tools, mainly the cofidence.
  2. There are so many people on this board who absolutely hate on Lynch and Whitner and I just don't understand. Lynch: Some very minor legal issues and two (2) 1,000+ yard seasons and a pro bowl apperance. Last season, when losing his starting spot to Jackson he continued to play hard when called upon. He has not made very many "big" or "game-breaking" plays for the Bills, but since he has been drafted who on the Bills has made "big" or "game-breaking" plays? Whitner: It seems that the biggest problem people have with Mr. Whitner is that he was drafted so high (8th Overall) and doesn't play like Ed Reed. He plays a different position, for starters. Also, since he is a good run-stopping safety he plays a lot in the box on run support. He plays a lot of slot receivers one-on-one in nickle and dime packages and is one of the hardest workers on the team. What I think people don't realize is that everyone that is drafted in the first round doesn't go to pro bowls every year. You would love them to do that, but they don't. The thing people forget is all of the Round one busts. All the guys who just fail. These two have not done that at all. They have done what they can to help the Bills win games. When drafting in the first round you want to get a guy that is going to come in and help your ball-club to me more successful. You need a guy who you can count on to be an above average starter in this league for multiple years. Whitner and Lynch have proven that they can be that for the Bills. Over the last few years since they've been with us they have helped this team. They need more pieces and a system that allows them to make plays. The systems that have been in place in Buffalo under Jouron were conservative. Very conservative. They didn't allow playmakers to make plays. I think Gailey and the 3-4 will change that. I wouldn't hope to trade these two very talented players until you see them this year. Its hard to replace guys like Lynch and Whitner. And to think that they are not of any value is just stupid and ignorant. They might not trade for more than a 3rd round draft choice, but that is not their worth, its just what is out there to be had. Its a buyer's market. I don't think we should sell those items. Go back and watch film or highlights or whatever. These guys are good solid football players. We need them. Please feel free to formulate an arguement as to why I am wrong (because I am sure that many, if not most of you think I am wrong).
  3. I am thinking we are in the 6, 7, or 8 win range.. Ugh.
  4. Personally I love this move. Antonio Bryant was out of the league for a year not too long ago... there is potential. Love this move by nix.
  5. I have like Tony Pike all along. He is a smart player and a really tough kid. Yes he needs to add some weight, but I really think that the trio of Pike, Brohm and either Fitz or Edwards would be a solid trio to get us through the next season with Pike ready to take over as soon as the lockout ends. I say tackle in the first round at 9 and Pike in the second round. Remember, we arent asking him to start this year, we want him to start the following season, unless he has a monster camp or injuries force him into the lineup.
  6. Money is everything. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. As far as the rookie deals are concerned, I would think that guys who are 6, 7, 8 year vets and longer would be all about the rookie cap. Keep the money in the league. I got to believe that everyone will be on the same, or similar page on that front. Beyond that, the owners need to step back and realize that this "business risk" they're taking is not that big of a risk. The NFL is the number professional sports league in this country and they only way that'll change is if they lock the players out. It happened to Baseball, Hockey and Basketball. All locked out/strike and all were hurt by it, all have recovered because Time Heals, but for a while people resented those sports. I, for one, liked the NBA until the Lock out. I got really into college basketball and now cannot stand the NBA. We'll see what happens. It'll be interesting for sure.
  7. Not to mention the fact that Kelly has said a number of times that he is not interested in coaching.
  8. Colt McCoy and Tony Pike are the only first rounders I like. Tebow masks many of your teams weaknesses but he isnt winning in the playoffs. Bradford is a product of extreme talent in OU's program and Jimmy Cluasen doesn't impress me when the game is on the line. McCoy completes over 70% of his passes over 4 years of starting AND IS THE WINNING COLLEGE QUARTERBACK OF ALL TIME! I want him. He is my first round draft pick no matter where I am drafting. If I cannot get him for whatever reason I am taking Tony Pike. He is a guy that is willing to put in the time and effort to be great. He was not a guy that showed up on campus and was given the starting job. He was in danger of losing his roster spot because of other recruits at QB in Cincy. He took that news and worked harder and harder until he was No.2. Then given the opportunity to play he capitalized and never looked back. He broke his left (non-throwing) wrist and played two weeks later last year. This year he rebroke it and went back into the game until the med staff pulled him. That dude is a man and winner and as hard a worker as you'll ever find.
  9. The Biggest argument about trent edwards and his lack of OL play is Aaron Rodgers. The Packers OL is a sive at best and Rodgers does nothing but produce. Trent just doesnt have it. Next...
  10. a bunch of drops
  11. Why would you put yourself through that pain?
  12. Yeah its Jim Kelly. Have you ever talked with him? Heard him talk? Thats absolutely his voice, and its not "much deeper." The Blue Blob represents my school the Xavier University Musketeers! LETS GO X!
  13. If we're going to draft a QB it had better be Tebow McCoy or Tony Pike in a later round. Pike is a really good player with size, mobility, great arm, accuracy, and he is mentally tough. Like that kid. Tony Pike for Buffalo in 2010.
  14. Ditka said the key to being a Good NFL Coach was a Good Dog, a Patient Wife and one Hell of a Quarterback. McMahon was ok looking. Maybe its true.
  15. I don't think the number 12 is retired...
  16. Ed Reed is so "fast" to the ball because he watches more film than other safety in the NFL. The dude does his homework and as a result is able to anticpate and make plays. Its not that he is fast or slow, its that he is prepared. You study for a test and then rely on what your gut tells you, that is what Reed does as a safety making plays for the Baltimore Ravens. He studies then goes with his gut and makes a great interception time after time.
  17. I WANT BRIAN CUSHING! I don't care if we take him at 11, 17, or anywhere else. That dude is a stud who will line up next to Poz for the next 10-12 years and dominate. I want Brian Cushing.
  18. Maybe if you'e been born in Pittsburgh the Bills would have six Super Bowl Titles...
  19. Personally, I want the Bills to take Brian Cushing no matter where they are drafting. I don't care if the pick is too soon or whatever all that "value" crap is. I think he is the guy that is going to best help out team right away. Don't get me wrong, I like our backers but we need to upgrade Ellison's position. Cushing has been a stud for years at USC and will be in the NFL. He is play-maker that will significantly upgrade our Defense right now IMO.
  20. Kelly was having knee problems and also concussions were a major problem. The Bills asked him to come back and play behind Todd Collins. Jimbo said that he would never be a back-up in the NFL so he retired.
  21. Thats just stupid.... I hope they lose out so we can "hope" again next year... Screw this team. Too bad I live in Cincinnati or I'd cheer for the hometown team... At this point the Bills are the lesser of two evils...
  22. I want a guy with visible attitude and who gets absolutely pissed off when we lose and more pissed when we play badly and win! There has to be an idea that nothing but superstar play will be tolerated week in and week out. If we can find a guy like Tomlin (who someone mentioned) or Coughlin from the Giants I would be happy. A Jack Del Rio type (although they are having a bad year) or Singletary I would like that... A BADASS MOTHER WHO DON'T TAKE NO SCHITT OFF OF NOBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. They truly make me sick... I live and die by this team and for them to give me hope and then to crumble like this... I almost hate them... Go Giants! And least they have a bad-ass coach who don't take no schitt off of NOONE!
  24. As my brother always says... Don't tell me who you are going to cut, tell me who you are going to bring in that'll be better. We can cut everyone, but chances are that will leave us worse off than we already are. We need to make decisions based on who we can bring in that IS better than the guys we already have. Saying that we want to cut someone is fine, but in the world of Russ Brandon and Co. we need someone to upgrade the position before we let our players walk.
