  1. Based on this letter and report (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81ca0a43/article/nflpa-to-players-save-your-pay-for-possible-2011-lockout?module=HP_headlines) I dont think we're going to be watching Fitzpatrick and the Bills next season... I hope I'm wrong, but this is looking really bad...
  2. Jimbo said at his Youth Football Camp that his furthest throw in the air was 78 yards. Pretty sure it wasn't from his knees tho... Don't forget the shoulder reconstruction he had done at Miami as a senior too. He might have thrown it further prior to that injury.
  3. Me and Hamdan are always at ECC.
  4. If the ball is getting passed to SJ13 then LE83 will start to see single coverage. If the ball is being thrown to LE83, then SJ13 will continue to see single coverage. Both can make plays, so the defense is going to have problems. I think we've seen that already with the offensive output in recent weeks.
  5. Line calls are going to be different on every play. Often times a team will have different protections with different names Cup, Fan, Slide, etc. Also, there will be different things that backs and tight ends will have to do based on the playcall. Often times these are built into the playcall in the huddle. So for instance, you are running a flood pattern (2-3 receivers spaced about 5-7 yards apart, running out patterns horizontally) towards the right sideline. The protection for this play might be a slide left (all linemen dropstep with their left foot and pick up the defender to the left) in order to give the QB a clear view of the developing play. The defense, pre-snap or during a dummy count, tip their hand that they are bringing an overloaded pass rush to the right side. The QB sees this and changes the protection to slide right in order to give his team the best oppotunity to have a successful play. Also, the QB can call in a slot reciever to help block, or change a RB's pattern to a wait-and-see pattern. Usually it is the QB worrying about proctections, the Center will call out things he may see, but ultimately its the QB in most cases. I hope that helps.
  6. I just wanna see H. Ward get lit up! I cannot stand that guy. He is such a putz. I wanna see Whitner absolutely flaten him! I'll donate to the fine....
  7. Fitz got his throwing hand stepped on when the bozo jumped on him. He might have had some bruising starting...
  8. I don't comment all that often but I always step to the plate when my boy Hamden's Revenge is being challenged. Listen, Locker has a ton of POTENTIAL. No doubt, he could be very good. You know who else had a ton of Potential? A young man named Trent Edwards, who had the endorsement of the late Bill Walsh. Kyle Boller had a ton of Potential. David Carr, Akili Smith, Tim Couch, Cade McNown, Ryan Leaf, Heath Shuler, Alex Smith etc. All of these guys had the Potential to be great, but they didn't pan out. The ones who looked like sure things (Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Phillip Rivers, Donovan McNabb, Carson Palmer, Matt Ryan, etc) were and have been great for their teams. Locker is perennial loser winning only 12 starts out of 46. To me, a guy getting recruited to play at a school with a "top shelf" QB would like to go and play with him to help everyone's chances of playing in the NFL. So what gives? The guy is inaccurate, fragile, soft, there seems to be no fire, and he just doesn't win. What makes anyone think he will win at the next level? I am not sold on him and I wouldn't draft him anywhere before the second half of the second round, and only that high because I would hold him as a trading piece.
  9. I think that the play was designed just like Hill said. In that situation, 4th and 2 time running out, the defense is naturally going to give up the middle of the field. The Lions made a gutsy call by Motioning Johnson inside betting on the safeties rolling to the sidelines. The game was going to be decided on that play. They put all their eggs in Johnson getting free and Pos making a step forward, as any good LB would do naturally on 4th and short. After that it was easy pitch and catch, but if Poz stepped back, or Mckelvin goes with Johnson and rolls Whitner to the outside receiver, maybe its different. It was a gamble by Detroit, and it paid off. Nice play. No defensive fault, just a well designed play.
  10. Ricky Stanzi from Iowa. Great Player. NFL QB.
  11. I am with Fitz. He should be the starting Qb on this team for a few years if not 10-12. Dude is a great game manager, he is extremely in tune with what the defenses are trying to do and how to counter that action with his offenese. He makes quick decisions, and few mistakes. 31-51 for 299 TD 2INT is a really good day in the NFL, especially for a guy with no line and no run game. I think Buddy and Chan would be absolute idiots to not take the top 3-4 Pass Rusher or the top LT in this year's draft. Protect Fitz with Bell on the RT and your #1 LT and then get some freaking pass rush and some turnovers. If they do that and some players pan out (Moats, Coleman) lose some bums (McCargo, Torbor, Ayodele, All LBs except Poz and maybe Merriman) we could really be a dark horse for the WC next season behind Fitz.
  12. Cool. Thanks for the information. That was my first thought when I saw we grabbed him yesterday. I hope he does report. A bad Merriman is better than a good Kelsey...
  13. I am just wondering what happens if the guy doesn't come to Buffalo. Chris Brown said he has 4 days to report and he isn't coming today (Thursday). So if he looks at the B-Lo and says "F That!" What happens to him and the Bills who picked up his contract?
  14. I think the move inside would benefit everybody. He isn't an outside guy. He would be a liability in pass coverage where ever he plays tho.
  15. Fitz didn't have a the game he did last weel, but he is still our best option, and I for one am not giving up on him. He is a fighter and plays with guts and heart. I like him, and I hope he is our guy. We have 9 more games to determine if he has "it" and I think he does. I am not drinking cool-aid, I am a quaterbacks coach and I think he has all the tools and the ability to play football well at the highest of levels. I wouldn't bench him for Brohm or even Luck. We need a pass rusher and a LT before we need to replay Fitzpatrick.
  16. I am watching Ricky Stanzi from Iowa every chance I get. I am sold on him. 4 years as a starter and is something 28-6. He plays with a good pocket presence and can make all of the throws. He is a big guy at 6-4, not sure on the weight, though he does look skinny. I am really reminded on Matt Ryan when he was coming out of BC. I remember watching him and saying that he was an NFL Qb no doubt. I get the same feeling when watching Stanzi. He doesnt get the media attention, but I think he is a guy worth taking in the middle rounds (4-6). I think that we have other needs to address before Rd 4. Qb is a need, even with Fitz's play. If he can keep it up, he is only 27, but Stanzi and Levi Brown could be more than service-able back-ups with potential to play in this league if we don't keep Fitz in the B-Lo for 10 years.
  17. Round 1 Pass Rusher (Bruce Carter or Adrian Claybourn or Cameron Hayward) Round 2 LT (Nate Solder or Jason Pinkston) Round 3 RT (Gabe Carimi or Danny Watkins or James Carpenter) Round 4 QB (Ricky Stanzi or Colin Kaepernick) Round 5 OLB (Chric Carter or Michael Morgan) Round 6 ILB (Elijah Joseph or Elijah Wojeck) Round 7 DE (Eddie Jones or Steven Friday or Karl Klug)
  18. We would be crazy to give up on Fitz. We need to draft a pass rusher Number 1 and then a LT in Round 2 and a RT in Round 3. We can get Ricky Stanzi in the fourth. I personally will be really upset if we draft a QB first overall. With how Fitz is playing that would be as boneheaded as drafting another CB.
  19. I think we would be crazy to not retain Fitz after this season. I would follow that guy into a fire and be sure that he would lead me out alive. Maybe not scot-free, but alive. I also think that Brohm must play this season. Nothing against Fitz, but Chan wouldn't be doing his job if Brohm doesn't start a game or two this year. Personally, I think Brohm is a waste, but you have to see so you have to play him. I really like Fitz though. The guys plays so hard and wants it so badly. He fights and fights and its really respectable. The guys will follow. How could you not? He reminds me of Jeter. He doesnt have the talent Jeter has, but the way he plays the game hard every snap and never for one second thinks about giving up. There is a play to be made and Fitz will try and find a way to make. I like him. Go Bills Go Fitz
  20. I really like Stanzi. He reminds me a lot of Matt Ryan when he was coming out of BC a few years ago. He isn't the flashiest of QBs and he isnt going to get the hype that Andrew Luck will or Ryan Mallett, but that doesn't mean he isnt as good. I think his NFL career is going to long and very productive. I really like his pocket awareness and the way he throws his receivers open. That is more of an art that really can't be taught. You either do this or you don't. Fitz is better at it than Edwards was, but neither is really any good at doing so. I would be thrilled if the Bills find a way to draft Stanzi and a stud tackle to take Cornell Green's spot. I think the rest of the line will really pick up over the rest of this season and next year. They are all young and have lots of upside and potential. Bell and Wood's injuries really hurt their development for this season, but not overall. They need to stay healthy and get as much practice as possible this season and offseason.
  21. I'M GOING WITH HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I just hope we get one prior to week 5...
  23. Troy didn't play Ohio State last year. http://www.troytrojans.com/SportSelect.dbm...p;Q_SEASON=2009
  24. I really like the guy. He is oozing with confidence, not only in his words, but also in the fact that he transfered from I-AA Richmond where he was not starting to I-A Troy and won the starting job. The guy knows he can play and at a high level. He won't start this year, but he will make the team (not the practice squad). Unless Trent really shows he is the Man this year, Levi will be starting next season after "winning" the starting job for 2011 in camp. Fitz is a career back-up who will look ok when called upon and will execute game plans to keep his team close (all you can ask from a back-up QB). Brohm has zero faith in his abilities. Its really sad, but the guy just doesn't believe in himself or his talents. It showed up in GB and, in my opinion, in the way he talks to the Buffalo Media. I think he is the odd man out this year. (Is he still eligable for the PS? If so he may end up there.) Levi Brown 2011 and beyond. I really think that he has all of the tools, mainly the cofidence.
