  1. I would do like one of the other guys said and just be honest. "Would you like to go out to dinner?" "Sure," she says. "How about (insert establishment)? I have a coupon!" "That sounds great. I love using coupons...they make me feel all tingly in certain areas when I use them," she responds.
  2. Haha. That is interesting. The only one of those that we thought was good for a time was Drew, so Mallet makes sense. I think Newton is too much of "Boom or Bust" player to take at 3. Kaepernick could be a good selection later in the draft, but not until day 3. JMO.
  3. I would like Tyrod Taylor. That kid has heart and talent. Plus, we need a guy that can move around...we do have a sieve for a OL...
  4. I'll say this: You are only as good as your weakest link. Maybe that means Poz can't do it all because the guys up front stink. Williams can't take on every blocker and make the play. We don't need guys to be GREAT at every position. We guys to be above average at what they do each down. We have some terrific players on this team (S. Johnson, Evans, Whitner, Williams, Poz, Jackson, Spiller, McKelvin, etc) but we need the guys around them to be solid. Troup doesn't have to be a pro-bowler. He just has to take blockers off Poz and Williams. Merriman doesn't have to get 12 sacks, he needs to be a threat for 12 sacks so Moats can get 6. Jackson doesn't have to run for 1000 yds, he needs to wear down tacklers so Spiller can go 75td. McKelvin doesn't need 7 ints, he needs 4 so Whitner can get 3 and Wilson can get 2 and Byrd can get 8. You see what I am saying? Its a team game. We don't need a superstar at each position. We need guys to do their job well so that other guys can do their job well. We need coaches that put guys in the right spots so that everyone can make plays. I don't care who throws the pass, as long as the guy is open. I don't care who is open as long as he catches it. I dont care who is blocking as long as they are blocking. You are only as good as your weakest link.
  5. Shaud Williams! Savior of the World! Give that guy the damn ball! Go Bills!! Oh how we would have made the playoffs without ye, Shaud! I hate that guy! Come on Hindsight, you knew...
  6. David Nelson is the "Nelson" you are speaking of right? Not Shawn Nelson? Shawn needs a talking to for sure...
  7. I love how everyone points out that "Levi was actually cut, then brought back once Edwards was let go." Yes, he was cut. Yes, he was brought back. Why does it matter? Did anyone watch the Preseason last year? How about the Jet game when Brohm started? Levi has talent and potential. I would be more than comfortable with him stepping in for an injured Fitzpatrick. The guy can chuck the ball around. He got cut because Gailey came to a team with 3 young Quarterback with various degrees of success/playing time in the NFL. He drafted Levi, and went with his "best looking guy" at practice for regular season. Then it comes down to who to keep behind him. The obvious choice was Fitz because of his previously documented NFL Success in Buffalo and Cincinnati and St. Louis. After that is Brown or Brohm. Well, when Gailey was coaching at Georgia Tech, I am sure he had to at least think about Brohm in some capacity. Was it to recruit him? Was it to play against him? Was it because he liked watching College Football Live on ESPN? I don't know, but I do know that Gailey was aware that coming out of Louisville, Brohm was a really good looking NFL prospect and on a team that can't win, you gotta keep all the best looking guys you already have. Brown was cut due to a numbers game. If Sanborn didn't count toward the active roster, I bet Brown would have been. I am sure he was sent packing with a whisper in his ear to keep his phone on. Trent was a two week experiment for Chan. He failed, so Brown came back. Don't read too much into. It doesn't matter. They clearly like Brown better than Edwards and Brohm because he is the only one left standing. And we're not taking a QB before the 4th round. If we didn't take one until the 7th last season when it was ALL we needed, we won't take one this year when its not even close to priority.
  8. Like many other posters, I agree that the Bills are it for me. I am such a die-hard bills fan that if they did leave, I just couldn't root for another team. If the current players went with the Bills to the new city, I could watch till most of them left, but after that, the disconnect would be too large. I could never root for the Jets, Patriots, Steelers or Browns who would likely fill the Regional Action on CBS or Fox. It just wouldn't be the same. I guess I would just cheer on Penn State on Saturdays, or not really watch at all. Its a sad thought, but its probably what would happen for me if the Bills left Buffalo. I hope that never happens because watching the Bills on Sundays is often what gets me to either shake a hangover or have another...usually both.
  9. I love football, and I love it at the highest level. I think that there are many people like me who will continue to front the Money despite the NFL. A second league that could compete with the NFL in the Spring would be the best way to combat the NFL. A league like the USFL. It will scare the NFL especially if they start getting players like the USFL did. Thats the only way.
  10. JaMarcus Russel and Aaron Maybin should be the biggest arguments for a Rookie Wage Scale. You can throw Vernon Gholston in there too. I really like Wilson. He is a really good player and an even better person. I was working over at the Jim Kelly Football Camp and after my campers ate lunch they were waiting to head to another part of the complex at OBD and out of the offices walked George Wilson. He signed an autograph for every kid there. Every single one. He didn't have to do that. He just was a good dude doing the right thing. I thought it was really awesome of him.
  11. Owen I am with you. I want Dareus or Miller. Probably Miller just a bit more because I like Carrington a lot. I think QB shouldn't even try to be addressed until the 3rd or 4th round if at all.
  12. Because he SUCKS! He is a detriment and cancer. He is a worthless baby of a human being who beats up strippers because he can't get his own women. I wouldn't touch Vince Young with a 30 foot pole. PS Cam Newton looks, talks, and acts like VY. Topsy Turvey NFL burnout from Auburn! Welcome to the League that Doesn't NEED you to survive. You need the NFL VY and CN. Show me Ricky Stanzi or don't draft one.
  13. The NFL draft is about deception and getting the media to believe it. Nix and Gailey have done their jobs.
  14. The biggest thing about Fitz's stats, that I noticed was not already mentioned, is that he NEVER went through the OFFSEASON as the starter. So much timing and comfort is built throughout the offseason between QBs and WRs, TEs, and RBs. During the season, the teams practice 3 days per week, maybe one of those in full gear and at full speed. Without the offseason to work out all the timing and familiarity with his guys, Fitz has started each game with a distinct lack of Reps than a guy like Brees or Brady. Unfortunately, he will probably be behind the 8-Ball again this season with the CBA issues, but he'll have all of last season to build on, plus whatever offseason stuff does go on this year. I think those workouts are good for at least 5% improvement in Completion % stats. He is a smart guy, and a physically talented and gifted guy who'll do the little things to improve if he is given the proper time in which to do so. Mark my words: With a full offseason under his belt, Fitz completes 63% of his passes during the 2011 season.
  15. I love Ricky Stanzi. I have on this board saying that since at least last October. Like someone posted, he has all of the "adult" things down, like being a senior and a graduate, and he has all the playing numbers down in wins. He can certainly make all of the throws, he is tall (6'4" I think) but is a little light. He could put 10-12 lbs of muscle IMO. He was a starter for around 30 college games at Iowa, and played in some big ones (taking down PSU when they were ranked in the top 7ish a few years back). I think that becaues Kirk Ferentz is not known as a Quarterbacks Guy at Iowa, he hasn't gotten a lot of attention, but I really think he is the most polished, and NFL ready quarterback in this draft. I think his future potential is maybe not as high as some other guys with more measureables like Newton or Gabbert or Mallett, but, he is a guy that reminds me a lot of Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford when they were coming out. He played in pro-style offense and excelled. Personally, I think he is safest pick at Qb in this draft, albeit not the sexiest. I really want him in Buffalo.
  16. I don't want Whining Whitner back.
  17. I like to eat cheeseburgers and b*tch about Maybin.
  18. I would. She looks very smart and talented.
  19. I've been chatting up Stanzi for quite some time. I don't post that much, but lately they've been regarding Stanzi. I would take this guy and have him and Levi battle it out to be the No. 2 when we play ball again. That being said, Stanzi is the only QB I would feel good about drafting. Newton is hard to pass on, but he scares the crap out of me for the same reasons. Stanzi, I think is a sure-fire upper tier NFL starter for 10+ years. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/122425-which-college-qbs-are-you-tracking/page__p__2020550__fromsearch__1#entry2020550
  20. I think he could be useful as a TE. He has to be better than Stupar, right? Well, Stupar can think...
  21. http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nfl/buffalo/billspics.html I like the one that Jerry Butler is wearing in the late 70's to mid 80's. Those are what I wanna see.
  22. I think that a minor league is a better idea than this madness you have described. I think it is very innovative, but it just would never happen. The coaches would be pissed, and QBs would never get drafted high anymore because you couldn't groom them yourself. The idea of have a minor league has always been a good one. Maybe have it by division. So the AFC East would have one team in like Albany. The Albany Albinos. White Uniforms. Anyway, that would create an 8 team league that would play games on Wednesday nights. They would have Sunday's as their tradional off day (possibly for "call-ups"?). Each team could designate 13 players. That would make a 52 man roster. They could figure out a pay scale for these guys. Something similar to the practice squad. That would give each NFL team a roster of 66 players or 72 players if they decided to keep a group of guys as an actual practice squad like they do now. The main gain to all this that the teams would have NFL caliber players playing against NFL caliber players during the season. Development is taking place, and if yu have 4 ILBs drop, you aren't signing some guy out of Michigan's weight room/garden care center to fill in...
  23. I think its Fitz for a few years. I just see too many holes in this team that are more pressing than QB right now. Is Fitz going to take us to the SuperBowl? Probably not. With a pass rush, a run defense and some better blocking from the OL will he take us to a 10-6 or 11-5 record? I really think so. That being said, if Chan decides that Newton has too much "upside" to pass on, then he is the pick at 3. As much as it scares, it excites me the same amount, if not more. The kid's talent is unmeasurable. He is like Vick, but accurate. Or McNabb, but able to win the "Big Games" that he played in. I really want Defensive Front 7 help at 3, but if we take Newton, I'll be excited about it.
  24. James Starks is guy that we most certainly could have had at some point in last year's draft. Obviously, the new regime were not Lynch guys, and wanted to move that beast outta town. So we needed a replacement. We took Spiller. He is a guy with super talent, but he can't remember the play, misses assignments and can't block. So, he is rarely on the field, save punt returns, when he fumbles. James Starks can block, remember the play, and hold onto the football. Is he the dymanic athlete? Nope. Would he have helped Buffalo this past season and next season? Yup. Could we have taken a guy like Jason Pierre-Paul who gets after QB's? Or Jermaine Grisham who catches passes from the TE position? I really hate the "Best Player" approach to drafting. If you are building a team, you have to put guys in the fold who are going to help other guys be better. A legitmate pass rush equals better LB and DB play. A legitmate OT makes better QB and WR play. Just cuz Spiller was the "Best Player" doesn't mean he was the best player for this team. All that said, I really hope we get a pass rusher in this draft at #3, because then the LBs DBs and RunD all get better as a result.
