The teams that manipulate the board the most seem to be the ones that are winning year in and year out. When you are a 10+ win team, you can move up or down because you have elite players. If you are drafting 3rd overall, its because you need elite players. If you trade back and get more mediocre players, you will remain mediocre.

Chan/Buddy might need more to turn this team around
The Cincinnati Kid replied to LGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're .500 this year. No doubt. I am happy with that. We'll only get better. -
The top 5 guys on this list are in another world. Its those five and everybody else. I guess if you like being "The Best of the Rest" then good for you Donte. If that gets you paid, America is a great place. Whatever. I am sick of this guy. See ya Donte. Ohio State Sucks, you prolly got all your tats for free and paid off people like Tress-dawg to keep it quiet. Whatever pal. Have fun in obscurity (like Nate Odoms when he left).

Maybe you guys will be better
The Cincinnati Kid replied to Jimmy Spagnola's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we should just delete this thread bc all this guy wants is attention. its just playing into his hand (his right I am assuming) to get him off by getting us worked up. Lets not help him and his cause and just delete this whole thing? Mods? -
I think we'll grab Jarrod Johnson from Texas A&M and Josh Nesbitt from GT. Both mobile guys that Chan likes, and each with the potential to be our Brad Smith.

Newton & Clausen both sport No. 2 jerseys
The Cincinnati Kid replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats Jimmy's Number. No way he should just hand it over. Not even for a couple Million Dollars. Earn it Chump. Newton will be a WR in a few years and they can't wear single digit numbers... -

Best Draft In a Decade Plus
The Cincinnati Kid replied to THE-COMEBACK41-38's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I loved it. I think we got at least 3 starters in Williams, Dareus, and Sheppard. Jasper looks like an absolute beast. Searcy will step in for Donte when he departs and looks like a real nice SS. I think we did really really well this weekend. I am happy. -
My 1a./1b. is Ayers and Reed. I think they are both really good players. I like Ayers just a little bit more because I think he can help us inside, but I love that Reed is a push rush guy in a 3-4 scheme. I think they are both in strong consideration for Nix at 34. I also would not mind seeing this pick be Mallet. I just see a lot of upside and I think the off the field things are things that can be corrected. All that said, I think most likely it'll be Ayers at 34 for the Bills.

Biggest Surprise Not Drafted in Rd1?
The Cincinnati Kid replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cam Newton...it could happen...Clausen was a sure fire First Rounder according to the Media as was Brohm. I dunno if it will, he might be off the board in less than 45 minutes, but he might be there tomorrow. -
My screenname is not a weed reference, its a Steve McQueen Movie about poker....and I went to Xavier University in Cincinnati... But thanks for slandering me. I appreciate that.

Wild Card for tonight
The Cincinnati Kid replied to metzelaars_lives's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A real Wild Card to be taken by Carolina at 1 is AJ Green. I really think it might go that way. Wouldn't that make things interesting about 20 minutes later? -
Most people get kicked out of college for cheating, so I am willing to bet that most people do not go this route. Also, its rumored that an education below the Mason-Dixon Line ain't quite the same as one from above it... Not trying to offend anyone, just saying.

Chan's Comments to NFLN

being more enthusiastic and sounding more positive is not a change in tone? Are you a musician/singer? Otherwise his tone changed IMO. -
Chan's Comments to NFLN
The Cincinnati Kid replied to The Cincinnati Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that we are sometimes lump the current guys calling the shots with the former guys calling the shots. Donahoe was an idiot, Marv was not a personnel guy and Russ Brandon...I won't even go there. Nix is a personnel guy. He has been a coach and scout all his life. He is not going to make the same mistakes that these other guys made. Brandon just didn't know what he was doing, plain and simple. Marv drafted guys he couldda made better but his HC was awful so it didnt work out, and Donahoe was arrogant and made luxury/flashy picks on teams that needed more than luxury. I do not associate any of the prior regimes with the current one. It just doesn't make sense. -
Chan's Comments to NFLN
The Cincinnati Kid replied to The Cincinnati Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if somehow Darius and Miller are both there at 3 we take Miller because I believe, and this is based on absolutely nothing, that Nix and Chan like the two DL they drafted last year (Troup, Carrington). IMO pass rush is the weakest position on this team with OL being next. I know we were horrible against the run, but we had to play Stroud who sucked and Dwan got hurt and missed a bunch of games before the rookies were really ready. FWIW Carrington looked gigantic last year and moved well, I thought. I think we are going Miller unless he is not there, no matter who else is around. -
Chan's Comments to NFLN
The Cincinnati Kid replied to The Cincinnati Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Miller and Maybin only have two things in common: The 1st letter of their Last Name and the Position they play (even tho Maybin was drafted as a DE). Miller has a solid body of work at FBS level playing in the Big 12. The dude is bigger and faster than Clay Matthews, he is adding muscle and weight to his frame (last i heard he was up to 250 ish) and he is explosive as demonstrated by his 10' 9" broad jump at the combine. He is a unique pass rusher who can get his torso parallel to the ground without losing leverage and he can cover with the best of the LBs. He and Dareus are the safest picks in this draft. No doubt. -
I watched the interview with Chan on NFLN and I really thought that it was obvious who the choice was just by his tone and the way he talks about each prospect. Miller is their guy... http://www.buffalobills.com/media-center/videos/Chan-Gailey-on-the-draft/3146831f-a0a4-4a0c-9950-c3ab960e1936 See what you think.

3rd pick FWIW my opinion
The Cincinnati Kid replied to OldTimer1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am in total agreement as well. Nicely said. I am in the Miller/Dareus camp as well. Personally, I think that Green is the Dark Horse Candidate to go Number 1 to Carolina. That would set off a whole string of god-knows-what... Bills overlook Newton and take the Defender Denver passes on. -
Bills' 2010 Draft-Worst in NFL?
The Cincinnati Kid replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think you can judge a draft after 1 season of play. I think you need 3-4 years before you judge a draft. Personally, I like Troup and Carrington. We'll see. Jury is still out. -
All Newton all the time

Dankenstien: When you are done pumping gas for people let me know. When you are done fixing other people's toilets let us know. When you have finished kissing the feet of the people you work for let me know. Have some respect for what people think. This is what a message board is about. It is not for what you are doing. You need to grow up and get a freaking education. -
All Newton all the time
The Cincinnati Kid replied to RichardBag's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just dont understand why people on this board feel the need to Hate on peoples opinions. I have mine and you have yours. That doesnt make me irrational or illogical. It makes it my opinion. Eric Crouch won a National Title and Heisman, is he an Icon? I serisously doubt it. As it pertains to the conversation with King, if I read between the lines, which I try to do when people in Newton's position talk, then I am seeing it as him saying he is selfish, cares about himself, as an ego the size of Alaska, and that he thinks he is entitled to everything that he is going to be handed. Its just my opinion. I am not wrong, or illogical for having it. Its what I believe based on everything that I read and heard thus far concerning Cam Newton. -
All Newton all the time
The Cincinnati Kid replied to RichardBag's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not WRONG. I have my opinions. You have yours. You are not wrong. I am not wrong. You take it your way, I take it mine. Why is he signing endorsement deals anyway? He hasn't done anything! To me saying he wants to be an ICON and ENTERTAINER regardless of the context says a lot about who he is and his desires. It makes me not want him on the team that I cheer for. I know I wouldn't pick him if I were Nix. Thats just me. I respect your opinion to write it off as something said innocently said. Thats fine for you. Its not fine for me. Personally, being an ICON is a lot more than having one good year in college and winning a BCS title...Tee Martin. Being an ICON of the game of football takes Super Bowl Championships not BCS titles. If you think you are going to waltz right into the NFL and be an ICON because you one 14 games at the D-1 level of college football...Wow...The NFL and D-1 are not even close to the same animal. Terrifying if that is the way he thinks. But thats just my opinion. -
http://www.cbssports.com/#!/nfl/story/14966135/top-100-dazzling-qb-duo-cant-get-separation I was really surprised to not see Kyle Williams on this list. I did not think Stevie would be out Honorable Mention. He had a great season, but its only one season and most of the guys on the list have been at it for a few years.
