MNF Game day thread - Pats vs Bills
bdutton replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Defense is good. Held the Patriots to 1 TD on 6 redzone drives. Offense is bad. Can't run block for *****. Trade Shady today. Let him go somewhere where he can win and we get something in return to rebuild. The future is Josh Allen... hopefully he can heal and we fill the holes on offense (OL/WR). -
I'm going to ignore your blanket statements because it proves nothing. You mention briefly that an 'excuse to ignore whats happening' and make no effort to elaborate. The recent phenomenon of 'mass shootings' is a complex issue and not the result of any single reason. There are many issues that I believe contribute to the rise in mass shootings which really didn't start until the mid 1970's. Factors that I believe have contributed: 1. The closing of mental institutions in the mid 70's. 2. The push to use psycho-tropic drugs to deal with mental illness on an out-patient basis. Some of which would go off meds and or self medicate with harder drugs. 3. The rise in violent media entertainment (internet, games, tv, movies) which leads to a desensitized population. 4. The polarization of politics. 5. The 24 hour news cycle that pushes opinion (leading to further polarization) over facts. 6. Failure of states and federal law enforcement to identify threats and report mental illness of state residents to the NICS system. What hasn't lead to greater incidents of rates of homicides in general are the softening of gun control laws. Since the first major gun control law in 1968 was passed, there was a steady rise in homicides until the mid 1990's. That rate fell dramatically despite the loosening of gun control laws including the spread of concealed carry and the introduction of the instant background checks. There has been no wild wild west and blood in the streets as many liberals have been telling us. Had there been just one worshiper in attendance at the Synagogue, the death rate would have been much lower if at all. Good guys with guns stop bad guys with guns.

Good guys with guns tend to stop bad guys with guns. Its not that complicated to hear someone with half a brain like Trump (I said it... he's not that bright)... but its basic common sense. Gun laws don't work. Good guys with guns do.

http://news.trust.org/item/20181028230046-ovczz We need to heed these words or else the Democrats will continue to drag us into a similar situation Brazil has faced with the last 15 years.

https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2018/10/27/heavy-police-presence-near-synagogue-in-squirrel-hill/ PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Eight people have been killed and a number of others injured after a shooting situation at The Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill on Saturday. Shooter yelled "all Jews need to die". I won't do the man how did this the favor of printing his name but its not Arabic which probably means he's a white supremacist.

I think its the other way around. The Media and the DNC are the same entity.

Not as a Republican.

Sonny Bono is a Republican. More evidence of the violence of the far right.

How Has Your Opinion Changed Or Not Re Trump?
bdutton replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I had the pleasure of meeting him in person during the campaign. He went out of his way to make sure we could get a picture with him. I was a VIP visitor at a stop thanks to a friend that was working as a driver/security on his campaign. That said, publicly he's a blowhard that can't stop stepping on his own dick when tweeting or speaking to crowds. His getting elected is an astounding achievement and a referendum on Clinton. I NEVER expected him to get elected. I am not surprised with the chaotic first months of his taking office either. I doubt he thought he would ever win and never made plans on a transition of power. HIS ability to deliver on most of his campaign promises despite an openly hostile liberal press and Democrat conspiring is astounding as his being elected. I will happily vote for him and every Republican on the ticket every year until I die. -
The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency

I'm a nationalist. I'm white. Does that make me a white nationalist? Or does that make me a white, nationalist? -

Yep.... The Saudis own his death now. Its not pretty. The excuse is extraordinarily thin. Patsies have been arrested/killed. The King has stepped in to exert his authority over this mess. Does this change our relationship with the Kingdom? Not materially. Expect Trump to tweet that he's happy that the King has taken responsibility and arrested the people responsible for this heinous crime. The Saudis arrested will probably be given new identities and slip back into the public after their deaths have been 'arranged'. Its not pretty and hopefully, the Saudis learn from this.
