  1. I agree both are bad but Marrone inherited a crap team while Rex inherited the winning team that Marrone helped to build. I don't like either one much but Marrone better than Rex.
  2. The Bills have been "all-in" for 3 seasons running. It may time to take a step back and build properly.
  3. It wouldn't be shocking if the Bills and Sabres were run differently because they have different ownership. Terry Pegula is the Sabres' sole owner. Kim Pegula is the one from WNY who wanted to buy the Bills Their track record together is short: one HC hire, and it did not match the top choice of the GM
  4. Happy wife, happy life. I doubt its the Terry Pegula I've seen at the podium who is insisting on making these calls.
  5. Belichick has traded Mankins, Chandler Jones etc. He doesn't worry if his sentimental fans think he's crazy, he simply maximizes value and profits where he can. He's not afraid to part with a good player if its best for the franchise and adds value. You'll notice my post said "if Kouandjio is legit." So its not if he shows a little promise like you say, I'm talking about a scenario where they're confident that Kouandjio can play left tackle Cordy Glenn playing left tackle is worth more than Cordy Glenn playing right tackle. The same player on the left side is worth more in terms of both money and impact on W/L. Protecting the blindside is a valuable commodity that teams pay for. A team that can't play Glenn at left tackle doesn't benefit from him as much as a team that needs an LT, and so there's a natural opportunity to profit. For a team like the Bills who are desperately seeking a QB and who will need to re-build their core soon, the ability to get younger and cheaper AND add a draft pick is a blessing.
  6. I think a mid level free agent RT signed with the savings from moving Cordy, plus a 1st or 2nd round pick is more value than Cordy playing right tackle. Is Cordy a top 20 pass protector in the league? Top 10? Playing him at RT is a waste of value, as soon as you do that he's worth more to someone else than he is to us. High draft picks are enormous value
  7. If Kouandjio is legit we should trade Glenn. We have core players like Watkins, Shady, KW time coming up soon. Extra pick would be a blessing. The ability to replace Glenn with someone younger and cheaper is a gift. Pocket the pick and the cap space and don't look back. That high pick could help you get a franchise QB. As long as Kouandjio can protect the blindside its all good, Glenn is worth more to someone else so you profit from it. Jmo
  8. It'd make for a strong hire. We'd get to the quarterback, cause turnovers and win more games for it. The secondary would suddenly look better. Our DL would be back to dominating games at times, and Pettine may do better against the run after learning some lessons and being stuck with Ragland, a run stuffing Mike.
  9. Its still not good to look bad as an organization, as we do now. Our new coach who our ownership loves so much doesn't know who the QB is and then lies about it being his call then backtracks. I'm sure Russ Brandon would agree with me it's not a great look. Is it an indication of deeper issues, no way to know for sure
  10. I haven't seen the apologists mock the part of Sully's article where he notes how awful the Bills look for their new head coach first not knowing who is starter is and blurting out Cardale Jones, then proceeding to blatantly lie by saying "it was our decision" and then changing it to "I wasn't in the room, the GM and Owners have to speak for themselves." That's just the kind of thing a journalist should be pointing out. Its not the writer's fault he covers a Mickey Mouse organization That's not to say Sully is a quality writer, he's not, but he's spot-on there. Metz' point holds up too though, none of it matters if they get the coach and QB right and win games. It may not matter but the org does not look like they know what they're doing
  11. Some of you are nutso, he did an excellent job with that defense. There's a big difference taking over Wanny's EPICALLY bad defense like Pettine did, vs. taking over Pettine's good defense like Schwartz did for the 3-4/4-3 phobics, Pettine is one of the more versatile defensive coaches around and will do just what he did here last time, build the D around the players we have. We were mostly a one-gap team when he was here which suited Dareus, KW and Hughes far better than did Rex' D.
  12. Not much of a retread, never got much of a shot I believe in Pettine as a leader and as a guy who doesn't mind being aggressive to accomodate today's league. He'd be on my interview list for sure.
  13. Yup. I want them to lose because I want Rex out so we don't auto-suck again next year. Do I trust the Pegulas to make a good hire, no why should I. But Rex, to me, flat-out stinks and staying with him just damages the roster more as we continue to bring in his guys for his stupid outdated system.
  14. I was interested in him at that time also, would be happy with him under Coughlin. He had some good defenses in NJ when he had the D-line. I like Mike Pettine even more than Fewell and would interview him for head coach.
  15. Some fans may not like this idea but I think Perry Fewell would do well with our D, his system being more DL-based than Rex' D. He would let the dogs hunt, even did a decent job as Bills interim HC. Currently DB coach in Washington
  16. At that point why do you want Rex at all? So we can have a ton of injuries and suspensions and penalties while playing scared not-to-lose football?
