  1. Last year he played with two broken fingers, in a system that doesn't suit him, and while OL requires cohesive play he was on a team that quit on their coaching staff. So if average Guard play is how he does in those conditions, or in other words if average Guard play is the worst he can do, then what is his ceiling?
  2. The graphic doesn't close the quotation! What was Kingsbury's next sentence, eh?
  3. Interesting thought. Even we New Jerseyans don't like it in Jersey. ?
  4. Also makes sense in that he's a 'process' guy: team captain in college and thought to be super-competitive which is nice on the OL.
  5. Sounds like he was pretty good in Washington actually. Then he had one rough half-season with the Jets before moving back to guard and fairing okay. Played Right Guard in college by the way which suits us perfectly...
  6. Sounds like you're just saying he messed up shotgun snaps because of the finger
  7. When I read he doesn't fit Gase's style I thought this might be the case-- glad to hear you say it! New England showed this year that the climate ia favorable for a power running game right now against these smaller, pass-oriented defenses.
  8. I saw some of the Cover 1 premium members were doing a fantasy league for kicks
  9. Birmingham also has WR Quan Bray, DT Rickey Hatley and Ted Cottrell is coaching their linebackers.
  10. He once knew a fake punt was coming by watching the coaches on the sidelines. Chris Simms talked about it on his podcast. He's trying to get a similar read on McVay here.
  11. If I waa GM he wouldn't factor into my offseason plans. Just an extra possibility, not something I'm going to count on at all.
  12. Interesting thought. We did get widely criticized for it at the time.
  13. I think we all accepted it so easily because it makes a lot more sense than the old way. They used to list a guy like Von Miller as a Linebacker or OLB, and if you weren't familiar with the kid you had no idea if that meant edge rusher (high value) or off-ball linebacker (low value). Grouping all the pass rushers together, whether we expect them to be a DE or an OLB, and just calling them EDGE is much more efficient imo.
  14. Yes! He deserves it. I'm glad they didn't turn the MVP into a lifetime achievement award with Brees.
  15. Could point to DK Metcalf- physical freak from an NFL family.
  16. Andy Reid always helps his guys move on and I'm guessing Derm shares that philosophy. One good consequence is that guys may be more open to working for him.
  17. Barkley getting up to speed so quickly and having a good game is a big feather in Culley' cap. Daboll as well.
  18. I'm down with Metcalf, he has a chance to be a star wideout. Put him opposite Foster and watch Allen drop piss missiles all over the field. Put Golden Tate in the slot owning the middle all day to really stress every inch of the field.
