2020 Our Year For Sure

I've enjoyed other reality-benders more like Undone (Amazon) and Legion (FX/Hulu), this is sort of a Disneyfied more kid-friendly version IMO. It's a fun show though, I especially enjoyed the first couple episodes spoofing the 50s and 60s with the real world sort of knocking on the door mysteriously. Bettany is talented and Olsen really is lovely.

Nate Geary recently guested on Locked On Bills with Joe Marino and their conversation was just loaded with real good analysis. Geary feels the O-line and (my boy) Daboll share equal blame for the run game struggles...a point I thought was interesting was that he said we ran less gap/power runs and actually ran a lot of outside zone this year. His opinion was that you shouldn't run so much outside zone with Singletary and Moss because they don't have the footspeed to really threaten the edge. With those backs he said you should work largely inside the tackle box. He said if Fred Warner is on the other side and you run outside zone, Warner can just slowplay and force the HB to commit to a hole first, and then just go make the tackle. Because he's not afraid of those guys getting the edge on him he never has to over-pursue and open up a cutback lane the way outside zone is designed for. He thinks they're limited in what they can do with these HBs.

I'm rooting for the Chiefs because I want Josh to get more rings than Brady.

To the bolded what about Harrison Phillips? he seemed to get better toward the end of the year as he continues to ramp up following the torn ACL.

Even if they were playing games, you could just put Diggs in the slot with Adams and Hill on the outside. There's no reason Diggs couldn't play well in the slot.

Fletcher Cox is just starting to get old and Schwartz needs a 'generational' kind of talent at DT, so another smart move by him to avoid being exposed.

I jumped on Colts-2.5 @ DET and it's already moved to 3. Wonder if it keeps moving? Packers were -7.5 vs. MIN when I looked an hour ago and it's all the way down to 6.5, sharps seem to love Minny but why? I'm a little tempted by GB at 6.5.

To beat soft zones you throw underneath and get YAC. For that to happen Josh has to give up on a big gain EARLY in the rep because the ball has to come out quickly. It goes against everything in him but he's starting to understand why it's necessary. Mahomes has gone through this to an extent this season too, but he's Mahomes and he's ahead in his development and quick to adapt so it's not quite as pronounced, but the teams that gave him trouble played soft coverage starting with the Chargers playing Seattle Cover 3 and then others copied/adapted the Chargers film. Bills/Chiefs was a battle of two teams with the same game plan, they each knew they'd face soft zones and each tried to run but KC was better able to execute against our poor front seven effort.

Josh started to figure it out in Q3, Dabes is getting him there. :thumbsup:

He has good passing concepts that put defenders into stress about which man to choose, probably had something to do with it. Last year the book on Josh was cover zero, this year they can beat man so the book is play soft zone and force Josh to throw on time underneath and have the patience to take it. He's figuring it out, the light went on in the 3rd quarter. Josh is still evolving.
