  1. Its good to see that he put up over 1400 yards and 8 TDs last year, amidst all the "overrated" talk.
  2. I don't know if the AFC will be as tough as its been in recent years. Pittsburgh's pass rush is all but gone, and their D is weak now, so they've become vastly overrated. In Indy, Manning is banged up and Starvin' Marvin has very little left in the tank. Brady's banged up, and you've got to wonder how long the old guys can get it done in New England*. Not only that, but they now have to play on a level field, as opposed to knowing 75% of the opponent's plays before lining up. And without Merriman (as they will be at some point, more likely than not), San Deigo's D goes from dominant to merely good, and with Gates banged up and no alternative to Tomlinson on offense, who knows. The traditionally dominant teams in the AFC have more issues than usual this year, and the door is open for teams like Buffalo and Houston to step up and stake a claim. EDIT: On topic, yeah, I'd be thrilled with any playoff appearance. I'd certainly be devastated for a couple weeks after the playoff loss, but later on when I reflect over the season, I'd be happy and encouraged.
  3. Very funny show. Lot of pop culture satires and what not...Seth Green's a clever guy.
  4. He's convinced Peters will demand a trade at the end of the year. Don't ask me why.
  5. They haven't heard from Peters, its just some guy in the front office throwing some speculation out there. We should still be prepared for life without the Holy One.
  6. Yeah. Thats exactly what I was saying. I can see you understand my point.
  7. What principle? Again, if Peters makes this season an exact replica of his play last season, the Bills will pay him over the offseason. They just want to see more than a year of Pro Bowl-calibre play before making him one of the highest-paid players in the league. 1) We don't know what kind of shape he's in. The injury probably effected his conditioning early in the offseason, so getting into camp could have helped him get back in game shape. 2) He also has to learn a new offense, and he's put himself way behind the learning curve. Eleven days from the opener, and he hasn't as much as opened a playbook or spoken to his offensive coordinator. 3) The usual process of working off rust and getting used to the speed of the game, which every player goes through in training camp and preseason, hasn't even started yet for Peters. I'm not saying he can't have a great season. I'm just saying the odds of Peters duplicating last year (and therefore getting the contract he wants) have just gone down. That means the statement, "Peters hasn't yet been hurt by this," which was what Mickey said, is completely false in my opinion. He's lowered the chances that he gets what he wants.
  8. I don't think Dockery will get cut.
  9. If Peters can make this season a replica of last season, he will get paid over the offseason. This holdout has lessened the odds that he does that. Therefore, he's less likely to get the monster deal he's after.
  10. I did the same thing. Edwards could have ran on that play if he made that block!
  11. If we're 6-1, I'm fairly certain Walker will indeed be playing some good ball.
  12. Its my understanding the team can go after the signing bonus once a player misses a regular season game.
  13. Thats a tough pill to swallow. I really hope that isn't the case. Lets hope the guy can get his head on straight, recognize he can get the money he wants from THIS franchise if he gets in here and repeats last year...and goes about making it happen. When a franchise catches a break like they did with Peters, you obviously want to take advantage of it.
  14. They should both take blame. Fairchild shouldn't have called the play, and Edwards should understand that taking care of the ball is priority numero uno in that situation. Bad play all around.
  15. So you don't believe Schefter's report?
  16. And Rod Woodson
  17. I'd like to keep both, but I also want to keep 5 CBs, 5 WRs, 5 safeties and 4 TE/FBs, so I don't know if there's room. I'd keep Wright on the roster and put XO on the practice squad.
  18. Mayock + Eisen + Schefter > all ESPN NFL analysts combined
  19. ...and they'll have seen him play 2 and a half seasons at left tackle, rather than one and a half. Is it really SO hard to imagine why they're reluctant to make him one of the league's highest paid players after ONE great season? The guy still has quite a bit to prove to earn the money he's likely asking for, in my opinion. Its not as easy as just saying, "Yeah, lets extend Peters. He deserves more than he's getting, so lets lock him up." He clearly deserves more than he's getting, but how much more?
  20. You clearly didn't see his Bills preview last year, when he mentioned that the team's lone bright spot is Steve Fairchild as the offensive coordinator, and that the team desperately needs a new left tackle...
  21. Why would this episode cause Peters to leave? What cause does he have to hold a personal grudge against this team? Given the evidence we have right now, assuming Peters doesn't understand this is just business seems incredibly presumptuous to me. Again, you're being presumptuous. Given the evidence we have, I believe the Bills are perfectly able to play the waiting game for as long as it takes, seeing as Peters ONLY options are to A) play at least 3 seasons for this team, or B) retire. Given what the Bills have done so far, the assumption that they're suddenly going to panic and ship Peters elsewhere seems extremely unfounded to me. Here's something you haven't been able to comprehend from the beginning of this: there is a HUGE difference between the Bills willingness to pay Peters as a premier player right now, and the Bills willingness to EVER pay Peters as a premier player. Say the Bills just want to see one more solid season out of him before making him one of the highest paid players in the league...and lets say Peters eventually reports, has another great year, and NOW the Bills are ready to open up the checkbook for him. Peters' reality is that the Bills are on his doorstep ready to give him a huge payday, and the financial security he's seeking, a full 2 seasons before anyone else can. Do you REALLY think Peters will have such a huge grudge against this team that he'll put off signing a deal for 2 whole years until he hits free agency, risking injury in that time, and therefore taking the risk of NEVER cashing in? Thats just bad business. I really don't think Parker is THAT incompetent.
  22. How in the world is this going to cost us Peters? When he decides he's finished sitting on his couch and costing himself money, he comes to the Bills. Its not like he has another option.
  23. At some point, whether thats next offseason or sooner, Parker has to see that Peters sitting is NOT the best thing for his (Parker's) pocket. Whenever that happens, we'll have our left tackle back. No need for the team to take any action at all.
