  1. I've always thought Losman would be an interesting pair with Mike Martz. He'd be in a system where the quarterback is ASKED to stand in the pocket and look downfield on almost every drop back, even at the risk of taking a sack...alot of the time, there isn't even a safety valve. Martz accepts that some turnovers and sacks will occur, thinking he can make up for it with big plays. That seems to fit Losman's style pretty well. IMO Trent is already an overall better player, even at this early point. So this has nothing to do with Edwards (ok, Bill?). But I think if anyone can make a player out of Losman at this very late stage of his development, Martz is the guy. I wonder if San Francisco would be a potential suitor for him.
  2. Just about 3 or 4 more inches. Lets not get greedy.
  3. Anyone who doesn't think this is a good thing is in denial about how good this team is.
  4. Easily Edwards. Freddy played a great game, but Edwards' performance puts me firmly on his bandwagon. This is a young quarertback who is ready to WIN GAMES right now. Full speed ahead, Turk.
  5. Well Hardy can be dangerous in the red zone. We didn't get to see that last week, because we didn't spend much time in the red zone.
  6. We dressed all 5 safeties last week, right? Maybe we could leave Bryan Scott inactive, so McCargo can dress and rotate against the heat.
  7. F*ck time of possession. Our defense doesn't need help getting off the field and staying fresh against a team missing all three of their interior O-linemen. The offense doesn't need to think about protecting the D. Just. Score. Points.
  8. Once he told his side of the story? I think you mean once he reported to the team.
  9. Walker has been taking most of his reps at right tackle throughout the week, and they'll want to get him used to playing that position again. That makes me think that Walker plays RT the whole game regardless, and if Peters needs a series or two off here and there, they'll just plug Chambers or Bell in at LT instead of moving Walker around.
  10. Thanks for the replies. Three of the 4 Yahoo! experts rank Cutler better than Warner this week, but call me crazy, I'm going with Warner. Though if Cutler has a good game this week, I'll know I have a guy I can start with confidence every week. But I'll take the wait and see approach with him for now, and start Warner, who feels like a safer play. Hope I'm not screwing myself over. Good luck this week everyone.
  11. Absolutely. He and Ian Eagle are my two favorite PBP guys around.
  12. Maybe you deserve some props, cause you caught on quicker than I did. I very easily may have been one of the Losman supporters drowning you out in that thread. I'd still argue that the 2006 season was sufficient reason to think Losman was going somewhere in this league. I do not know what happened in between '06 and '07 with the guy...but if sometime in the future I see a young quarterback have a season similar to Losman '06, I'll still think it means that QB is going to be a good one.
  13. I thought you had to hold the ball longer than your opponent. Thats what I've read here numerous times.
  14. I didn't mean to come off as rude or accusatory. I only mean to suggest that there are a few posters here who put a great deal of focus on the play of this team's linemen, and for the most part the reviews of Butler's play have been positive. That isn't always the case: everyone agreed up until this preseason, for example, that Duke Preston should be selling car insurance. Yet most have been happy with Butler from what I've seen. I was intrigued when I saw someone with a conflicting opinion, and was wondering what the basis of that opinion might be, as I thought it may be informative. Because by saying he shouldn't be starting in this league for anyone but the cellar dwellers, you are in fact presenting a conflicting opinion to that of several people who seem to know their sh*t, pardon my French.
  15. Pretty much all of the OL experts here have had a lot of good things to say about Butler. Do you have any semblance of a reason for bashing him?
  16. Who is on the field opposite Moss when they only use 2 recievers? Serious question.
  17. Its actually worded: "Jason Peters also for the first time this week participated in the first series of reps at left tackle with the first unit." I believe I read earlier in the week he's been practicing with the first team all along. CB is just pointing out he "started" practice for the first time.
