  1. I don't know, I loved Seinfeld don't get me wrong, but the lines/scenes aren't really funny on their own. Scenes were great because of the delivery of the actors, the context of the crazy situations the characters were in, and the conext of the viewer's perceptions of the characters. If I had never seen the show and didn't know anything about it, most of these lines wouldn't get much of a reaction. They need context.
  2. As Simon points out, he's among the league leaders in solo tackles by defensive linemen. Clearly he's doing a good job against the run. We certainly do need to find a pass rush, but to say it can't get any worse is completely off base. It can get much worse. Schobel is a good all-around player, and while the aspect of his game thats missing right now is an important one, he still does other things well. We don't know what we would get from a 3rd round rookie, and the possibility exists that he'd be a liability if left to man the position on his own. I agree that we need to get a look at Ellis. If Schobel, Kelsay and Denney are completely unable to generate pressure, then its time to explore all possibilities, and that means dressing Ellis and giving him some snaps. Bobby April will have to live with one less special teamer on gameday...sorry, Copeland. Ellis should play, but it should be on a rotational/situational basis at this point.
  3. I'm always the commissioner of my money league, and I can't seem to get the scoring just right. We always use 1 point per 10 rushing/recieving yards, 6 points per rushing/recieving TD, 1 point per 25 passing yards, 4 points per passing TD. Additionally, in the past we've always awarded 1 point per reception, but I came to be unhappy with that, in that I thought quarterbacks became somewhat meaningless as the other positions racked up all the points. So this year we took out the point per reception...and the 6 top scorers in the league at the moment are all quarterbacks! This can't be right... What scoring system do you use? Someone in my league suggested half a point per reception. Help please!
  4. This I'm not so sure about. They rank 18th against the run, 32nd against the pass, 28th in total yards/game and 24th in points per game. If Tredwards plays, we ought to be able to put points on the board.
  5. Link She's got her nailed, spot-on. Really funny stuff. That'd be Queen Latifah as the moderator and Jason Sudeikis as Biden. Another highlight of the evening was Mark Wahlberg Talks To Animals, with a surprisingly good Marky Mark impression from Andy Sandberg. This was one of the better SNLs I've caught in a good while.
  6. Completely agree. We need to be able to generate a rush with our front four, as opposed to blitzing all the time. If it means a 1st round D-lineman, then so be it. Nothing is more pivotal imo.
  7. If the ball is out of his hands in less than 2 seconds 75% of the time, how will blitzing more help? If he's getting rid of the ball that quickly and completing passes, it means we're just not covering anyone, simple as that.
  8. No doubt about it, if we don't get this pass rush issue fixed, we are in serious trouble. The C2 zone will fall apart without pressure from those horses up front. It seemed like we dropped into that base Tampa 2 in this game a lot more than the 4 previous weeks...I suppose thats because they anticipated a downfield passing game. But at some point, you have to scrap the zone, stop giving away those cushions on the outside and try playing some bump and run. Maybe a lack of confidence in the man-to-man coverage abilites of Youboty/McKelvin at this point in their careers stopped them from doing that. If thats the case, it may have also scared them away from blitzing a whole lot. McGee may be more important to Fewell's schemes than previously acknowledged. With he and Greer on the outside, Youboty in the slot and McKelvin on the bench, the D is far better situated to change it up.
  9. I didn't forget Chyna. But I did forget current WWE Women's Champion Beth Phoenix who is billed each week as being from Buffalo, New York.
  10. No. Because I don't want my team to ever say they're out of a game when there's more than a quarter left to play.
  11. Candice Michelle is far from the hottest wrestling gal Stephanie McMahon Lita Maria Kanellis Victoria Torrie Wilson Stacy Keibler Christy Hemme
  12. Four pages, and you're the only one to claim Royal was down without a doubt. Since you didn't say when Royal was down, I'll backtrack a bit. "Nothing ever hits the ground: the shin/knee amazingly never find turf, and then he's completely on top of the defender afterward, which is NOT down by contact. Then he swings his arm around and drops the ball before the arm hits the ground." Which part of that do you dispute? Because after watching the play far more times than I should have, I'm absolutely convinced that sentence is 100% accurate.
  13. Good thread, the Dead are fantastic. At the moment, Loser is probably my favorite song, but its always changing.
  14. Thats true also. Although you fixed something that wasn't broken.
  15. I missed the birth of the porcelain dolls thing. Any chance you could go over that again, teacher?
  16. Right. But compared to all the other #1 TEs in the league, he ranks as a poor reciever. Simon is correct in that his primary task is to block, but thats probably caused by his limited game.
  17. Really? You don't think Walker has played well? Thats kind of a bummer.
  18. I agree. My point was that saying Royal is good at his primary task doesn't necessarily mean you're saying he's a good player. The only reason why Royal's 'primary job' is not to make plays in the passing game is because he's incapable of consistently making plays in the passing game.
  19. I hear you, but would you say blocking is Antonio Gates' primary job? Kellen Winslow? Jason Witten? Your primary job is ultimately going to be to do whatever you're best at. If all you can do is block, then thats what you're going to be asked to do. Every tight end needs to be a competent blocker, but some tight ends are able to make a bigger impact than that.
  20. Is he good at blocking because he wants to focus on his primary job, or is blocking his primary job because its the only thing he's good at?
