  1. Its not like he came out and released a statement out of nowhere. He was simply asked a question, and he answered it.
  2. He is deleted from the roster and the depth chart, but I don't see what your talking about on his Wikipedia page.
  3. How is our quarterback situation any less stable than Philly's? If you're getting at Edwards seemingly being prone to injury, than the Eagles' QB situation has to be considered 'unstable' as well. If you're not getting at Edwards being injury prone...what are you getting at? Everybody knows who the starting quarterback of this team is.
  4. Subtitle of the thread is a bit misleading. The Sirius guys alledgedly reported that KC has a trade pending with SOMEONE, and that the price is believed to be a 3rd rounder. The speculation about that someone being Buffalo wasn't part of the news report, but it was the commentators' spin on it, as Buffalo and KC are both on bye weeks.
  5. I said they could trade him in the offseason, just as an example to show that they don't HAVE to trade him. They could trade him now, they could trade him in the offseason, they could trade him next offseason, or they could never trade him. I don't care how committed you are to "rebuilding," there's nothing wrong with holding on to your best player. This isn't a 'trade him for whatever we can get while we can still get it' type of situation. They probably have a minimum that they're willing to take, and if they don't get it, they'll be perfectly fine with keeping one of the league's elite tight ends on their roster. Reports are that this situation wasn't even prompted by the Chiefs, but by Gonzalez himself inquiring about the possibility. So as a show of good faith, and maybe as a tip of the cap to the good years he's given them, they told him they'd listen to offers. This isn't even the Chiefs idea, so you know they aren't desperate to get something done. They weren't even thinking about it until Gonzalez brought it up. If a deal gets done, its going to be on their terms.
  6. There is no need for them to get rid of Gonzalez. Its not like he's about to hit free agency, and its not as if he's a malcontent demanding a trade. If they don't get an offer they like, they can just stand pat, and deal him in the offseason if they're so inclined...or they could just keep their best player and try to win some football games the next couple of years.
  7. Agreed on both counts, especially the Baltimore pick. Indy is worst in the league against the run, and the Ravens D is playing some fantastic ball this year. I'm not sure what the spreads are now cause my pool uses early lines, but I also like the Cardinals +5.5 vs. Dallas, and the Bears -2.5 @ Atlanta. Anyhow, good luck to you.
  8. I took it to mean that period between the end of the season and the start of free agency, where only the player's former team can negotiate with him. Wouldn't really mean much here imo, cause Losman would just wait that period out and become a UFA.
  9. There's plenty of tape on Losman for teams to figure out where he's at as a quarterback. Could KC bringing him in for 11 games allow them to gauge Losman's ability more accurately than film? Its possible, but the difference it would make surely isn't equatable to a 2nd or 3rd round pick. As for KC having exclusive rights...Losman simply would not have any reason to sign with them. He'll have no loyalty to any of the coaches or players, the team's higher execs, or the city. He'll have every reason to simply hit free agency and sell himself off to the highest bidder, who would in turn have the most perrogative to give him playing time. If thats KC, than so be it. If it isn't KC...than so be it. The exclusive rights they'd get for a limited time wouldn't do them much good here, imo.
  10. Exactly. His contract status means his trade value is next to nothing. He's going to hit free agency, and he's going to sign with the highest bidder.
  11. JP is going to free agency when the season ends, because thats where the money is. Because of that, a 7th round pick has more trade value than JP Losman does. Why would a team thats going nowhere this year want him when he's just going to play out the string and leave?
  12. I think you're seriously underrating the value of a quality recieving tight end. It would help everything.
  13. Absolutely. The mission statement should be to win a Superbowl either this year or next, and Tony Gonzalez will help you do that much moreso than your average 2nd round rookie.
  14. I agree. If they're only asking for something like a 3 and a 6 or a 3 and a 5, lets get this thing done. No hesitation.
  15. You're all alone on this one, Steely. Avril Lavigne hotter than Megan Fox.
  16. Really? Didn't they score two consecutive touchdowns to slim a 17-point deficit after Edwards left?
  17. This is a guy who just last season had 99 catches, 1172 yards and 5 touchdowns. He isn't on that pace this year, what with the Chiefs asking him to block more and having already used 3 different starting quarterbacks, including some guy named Tyler Thigpen. But he has NOT lost very much of his speed or athleticism. This is still one of the premier tight ends in the game. As for the chance that his game is about to drop off, Gonzo has proven to be one of the most durable players in the league and keeps himself in excellent shape. He could be one of those rare players who remains relevant well into their 30s. Since he was drafted, he's appeared in 156 of the Chiefs 158 regular season games. Personally, I would have no problem giving away a 2nd and a 5th. The prospect of Edwards playing with Evans and Gonzalez is too enticing to pass up.
  18. There ya go Steely, back on track. Emmanuelle Chriqui of Entourage and Don't Mess With The Zohan fame. Here's another and another. Just gorgeous.
  19. Houston's offense is extremely underrated when Schaub is healthy. Slaton gives them a threat on the ground, and Schaub is surrounded by three underrated weapons in Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter and Owen Daniels. These guys can light up the scoreboard with just about anybody. In the preseason I was really high on Houston and thought they'd be in the running for a wildcard. Thing is, their defense has been terrible, and we don't have much reason to believe they'll stop Ronnie Brown and the ordinary-yet-reliable Chad Pennington. But you have to think that an underachieving winless team will come out fired up against a mediocre team in front of their home crowd. I'm probably taking Houston in my pool.
