  1. I don't think there's any reason to take it so personally. Coles simply wants to sign a contract with the highest figures possible. Who can blame him?
  2. I'd fully expect that, yes. This situation, like the Houshmandzadeh one, seems like its purely about the cash. So they're going to do whatever they can to get as much as possible, and that means pitting the two teams against each other in a bidding war.
  3. I can hardly believe how committed Cincy is to having a big-name WR across from Chad Johnson. They've had two great recievers for years, and its gotten them nowhere. Isn't it time to focus their resources elsewhere?
  4. Yeah, Sealab was hilarious. Almost forgot about that show.
  5. The Bills haven't been saying that. I'm talking about fans.
  6. Is that WrestleMania III? You'll flame me for this, but I always felt that match was a bit overrated.
  7. The only stupid thing they could do is go into the season with Evans, Reed, and no other proven commodity at the reciever position.
  8. Well you knew they'd have to do something to lower their cap number. Thats still a surprise though. Edit- Rotoworld is citing ESPNEWS, by the way.
  9. I've read that Coles, Greer and Peters are taking up most of their attention.
  10. That very well could be, but it could also be true that those teams just don't like Coles, for one of the many reasons that have been pointed out here over the last couple of days. Teams that are looking at Houshmanzadeh are looking for a #1 reciever. Its possible those teams don't envision Coles in that role, and that could be why they haven't been connected to him at all. Thats pretty much the explanation we got of why Miami isn't interested.
  11. If so, it would be a completely new development. The only teams that have been connected to Coles so far are the Jets, Dolphins, Bills, Bengals and Browns.
  12. I really like the Buffalo Rumblings guy, but I've noticed over the last couple days he thinks a bit too highly of Chambers in my opinion. Chambers is a valuable utility guy, but should not be looked at as the answer at LG. If they decide to defer picking up a guard until the draft, it better be a 1st or 2nd round pick who can start from day one.
  13. It fits a bit better with Dockery out of the loop. Neither Waters nor Simmons are nearly as big as he is, so maybe the front office finally understands what will fit the system.
  14. Great point. Mason has certainly lost a step and is clearly not the player he once was, but even now he's a reliable, productive reciever for Baltimore.
  15. I wouldn't be shocked to learn that end date is by the end of the day today. Buffalo has to want to get this thing resolved.
  16. I have no idea what you're panicking about. There are at least 5 OLBs who fit the bill. As time goes on, the prices of these players drop. Its very easy to understand. Obviously they can multitask, because they're negotiating with Jason Peters, Laveraneus Coles and Jabari Greer at the same time. Not to mention Kendall Simmons is still on the radar, in all likelihood.
  17. Do you honestly think Buffalo is going to go into next season with Keith Ellison starting at OLB when Cato June, Derrick Brooks, Jamie Winborn, Freddy Keiaho and Angelo Crowell are all on the market? The only difference between signing one of those guys right now and signing one of them Wednesday is that the Wednesday version is cheaper.
  18. Sign him up! There are plenty of teams that keep 7 recievers. Adding Coles doesn't mean we have to drop Roscoe.
  19. Exactly what are the Bills going to do with his roster spot thats more valuable than the league's best punt returner? Keep a 7th linebacker, or keep Tim Massaquoi as the 4th tight end? How in the world does that trade-off help us win games?
  20. Its funny, these two are at opposite ends of the spectrum to me. Edwards is gun shy, and Cutler takes too many risks. At this point in their careers I'm taking Cutler easily as Trent was just awful for most of last year, but at this point in his career, Cutler is far from the "franchise QB" some here are touting him as.
  21. I really don't grasp this logic thats been going around that Buffalo trying to sign Coles is somehow taking away from their ability to improve other positions. Buffalo was (and may still be) talking to Kendall Simmons while they were talking to Coles, and during the Coles episode, news has broke that Buffalo is interested in Brian Waters. There's just no reason why a team can't chase more than one player at the same time.
