  1. I wanna hear from Sisyphean Bills, spartacus, Bills Vet, Mickey, etc. Are those folks pissed off even today? Or are they gushing with happiness like I am?
  2. Schefter was just on ESPN saying he has multiple sources telling him how close the deal is, including one in the Bills organization. He said they have one last condition they're trying to get hammered out. A source told him "too much time spent for the deal not to get done."
  3. He better not be staying in Buffalo for three days just waiting to see what Tennessee does. If that's his mindset there's no reason to stay in Buffalo this long.
  4. Who's better-- Levi Brown or Bell?
  5. It once did the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs.
  6. Much respect for Ralph if this is true.
  7. Rinehart would set us back a bit in terms of depth, but Urbik is the crucial one here.
  8. Williams will be our best cornerback this season. As for whether he was last year, allow me to refer you to the late Heath Ledger: "Where is Rachel?" "What time is it?" "What does that matter?" "Well, depending on the time, she could be in one place or...several." Early in the year McGee was our top corner. Williams looked lost those first few weeks. Then they seemed to move him down the depth chart and play him less, only for the rook to re-emerge later in the season as our top cover man. If McGee stays healthy, he and Williams are not terrible as a starting tandem. To me, Florence gets the nickel assignment and Clueless McKelvin competes with Rogers. All-in-all the situation is less than dire. I'm in full agreement with our strangely-humored friend that pass rush is top priority, and gets second billing as well. It's so clearly the team's biggest need. In Wanny's system, pass rush means ENDS. So we need to find an end or two as well as an OLB or two that can both hold up against the run AND cover. Tall order for the front office. First thing's first: get a pair of pass rushing ends.
  9. Honestly...I'm more just concerned that they'll use it at all! Baby steps, ya know?
  10. This was my thought when I wrote that-- in my head I've dedicated that pick to defense. We'll see if Nix follows suit.
  11. I remember being awfully critical of Demetrius in the preseason, but he stepped up and showed me something this year. Played the best football of his career (easily), even knocked some people around in the run game, particularly when he returned from injury late in the season. I'm intrigued to see how high he can go with more experience and conditioning. We really need to retain this guy because outside of Hairston taking a giant leap forward in his sophomore campaign, there's no hope of replacing the position at a similar caliber. I'd go as high as 4 years / $26M or so to secure him. I have to think that would get it done.
  12. Thanks for that, kind of annoying to follow a link and search for the relevant selection on a phone.
  13. My parents got me a Jim Kelly jersey. Finally a Bills jersey I can wear out in public without getting crap!
  14. This. We pass way too much. We are in the shotgun way too much. Run the !@#$ing ball Chan, you're making yourself look stubborn.
  15. I don't understand why they didn't give him a shot sooner. Good luck, kid
  16. He didn't actually say any of that. I thought crayonz was going to be funny.
  17. Crayonz, he did say that he disagreed with McShay's mock draft and that he thought "some teams would be shuffled around," and that he didn't want to end up "in the wrong situation." You draw your own conclusions.
  18. Seems a very good analogy to me. I'd add that we're congratulating a wife who sits on the couch and eats doritos all day, for not cheating.
  19. He's staying, just announced. Not only do coaches, GMs and free agents not want to come here, but now we're scaring kids away from the draft.
  20. The original post said the "elite players get picked by crappy teams," the bolded implying we're talking only about the draft. Elite free agents don't get picked, they do the picking.
  21. I wouldn't rely on Merriman but there's absolutely no reason not to let him come back and hope for the best. You accomplish nothing by cutting him.
  22. Two interior linemen? Levitre-Wood-Urbik, who are the two that simply must be replaced? I thought Wood was playing at a high level before the injury, and Levitre has played well all season long. I know Bill from NYC has a high opinion of Urbik and has been saying he wants the guy re-signed...Bill is about as critical of o-line play as they come so I tend to trust that. If you have a dissenting opinion I would love to hear it. I agree we need a LT and I think we need more depth on the line to be better suited for injuries, but the bolded part reads like you're talking about the starting lineup. Has the line been that awful this year?
  23. Your comments about Simon and Bell are spot-on. Enjoy the Dead, Bill
  24. I respect the optimism Doc. Go Bills
