  1. Mayock has been offered jobs but apparently likes it where he is http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/15/mike-mayock-is-a-wanted-man/ I thought Pettine blitzed as much as he did in the early games, it just wasn't getting through. Washington seemed a lot better prepared than Indy or Minnesota. I would think Pettine hasn't shown everything he has planned though.
  2. Paranoid fantasy owners looking for a report that he's back with the team
  3. Yup. Marrone's double talk is fooling a lot of people, including ESPN who is running with Tuel starting on their Bottom Line. It's cool to see a Bills coach tricking people. However I imagine Belichick is among those who sees through the smokescreen and is preparing to face Manuel and the read option. Can't wait to see it play out on gameday.
  4. He clearly gives us the best chance to win, so he plays if he's healthy. Seems so obvious and simple.
  5. We're going to the playoffs, JB.
  6. Gotta admit my first thought is almost always about the effect on the Bills, and empathy comes afterward. Good post, good thing to keep in mind.
  7. Ranks, Reball! Interesting stuff. It's that confidence Manuel has that makes me worry less about playing him before he's "ready" than some folks do. Let's hope he's right about Kiko, there's a lot on that man's shoulders.
  8. Always liked reading your posts DT. Good luck to you
  9. A different Randy Moss, a sports journalist. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Moss_(sports_reporter)
  10. Randy Moss on NFL Network (edit- different Randy Moss, a reporter) reported that Marrone was given confidence by the doctors prior to the procedure that Manuel would likely be ready to practice in the week leading up to opening day. He went on to say that as Marrone was driving in Saturday morning he was debating whether he'd seen enough to announce the starting quarterback (did not specify who that was, but it may be obvious). This aired right after the Bills broadcast ended on an NFL Network Now update
  11. Sucks. Ya hope for the best but this sucks.
  12. "Everybody has their way of approaching the preseason, and that's their choice." "We'll keep moving forward." "They have the option to do whatever they want to do." "It may sound strange in some ways, but some things I saw tonight will help our football team in the future. Buffalo can do what they need to do." He doesn't sound the least bit upset to me...?
  13. In hindsight we know Arizona was misguided in giving up that much for him- it didn't work out, and Ken Wisenhunt with job on the line chose to run with Skelton rather than re-inserting Kolb. Before that he threw 11 TDs and 14 INTs in Philly before Reid gave up on him.
  14. No matter what? He isn't exactly up against a hall of famer. He's competing against an undrafted free agent and a guy who already failed with two teams, has never thrown 10 TDs in a season, and can't stay on the field. It's basically Manuel's job by default.
  15. Thank you, I think he makes the team. The depth chart lists him as Carrington's backup at DE so I'm thinking he's capable of playing multiple positions.
  16. I don't know where this is from but it's perfect.
  17. The bb.com Depth Chart lists both Troup and Gilbert as #96. The Roster page lists Troup #98 and Gilbert #96. I thought 96 played well Sunday
  18. Great to see you back Astro, thank you for the report.
  19. The Colts broadcast really was awful though, so many times we couldn't see how the Bills lined up, and at times the announcers sounded like they don't watch the sport regularly. On Rolle's INT they thought the review was for possession rather than down by contact...seriously? I'm going to DVR an NFLN replay, hopefully they show our guys and I can hear what Murph had to say.
  20. I think that was NFL Network looking at another game and then joining the Colts broadcast in progress.
  21. I noticed him lined up at WR a few times but don't believe he was targeted. They seem to be keeping some of the offense under wraps for now- we saw no read option for example. I still think Goodwin will have a significant role on offense as a rookie.
  22. It's surreal to see pass rushers completely unblocked, with regularity. That's pure coaching.
  23. This train's got to run today! Good avatar, good post. For me it's painful watching the Bills lose whether I'm expecting it or not, so I never saw the value in "keeping my expectations in check" in the preseason. Why not let your optimism run wild? If it works out great, if not it's gonna suck regardless.
