  1. We could see Leonhard and A. Williams start opening day. Byrd is a mystery and Leonhard's experience in the system means it won't take as long to get acclimated.
  2. Six safeties? May not be any reason to keep Searcy around if they add Leonard.
  3. If Fitz and Wanny are good for 6 wins I have to think Manuel and Pettine are good for at least 7 or 8. Learn how to win close games faster than people expect, and the playoff drought is over.
  4. Mayock has been offered jobs but apparently likes it where he is http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/15/mike-mayock-is-a-wanted-man/ I thought Pettine blitzed as much as he did in the early games, it just wasn't getting through. Washington seemed a lot better prepared than Indy or Minnesota. I would think Pettine hasn't shown everything he has planned though.
  5. Paranoid fantasy owners looking for a report that he's back with the team
  6. Yup. Marrone's double talk is fooling a lot of people, including ESPN who is running with Tuel starting on their Bottom Line. It's cool to see a Bills coach tricking people. However I imagine Belichick is among those who sees through the smokescreen and is preparing to face Manuel and the read option. Can't wait to see it play out on gameday.
  7. He clearly gives us the best chance to win, so he plays if he's healthy. Seems so obvious and simple.
  8. Gotta admit my first thought is almost always about the effect on the Bills, and empathy comes afterward. Good post, good thing to keep in mind.
  9. Ranks, Reball! Interesting stuff. It's that confidence Manuel has that makes me worry less about playing him before he's "ready" than some folks do. Let's hope he's right about Kiko, there's a lot on that man's shoulders.
  10. A different Randy Moss, a sports journalist. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Moss_(sports_reporter)
  11. Randy Moss on NFL Network (edit- different Randy Moss, a reporter) reported that Marrone was given confidence by the doctors prior to the procedure that Manuel would likely be ready to practice in the week leading up to opening day. He went on to say that as Marrone was driving in Saturday morning he was debating whether he'd seen enough to announce the starting quarterback (did not specify who that was, but it may be obvious). This aired right after the Bills broadcast ended on an NFL Network Now update
  12. "Everybody has their way of approaching the preseason, and that's their choice." "We'll keep moving forward." "They have the option to do whatever they want to do." "It may sound strange in some ways, but some things I saw tonight will help our football team in the future. Buffalo can do what they need to do." He doesn't sound the least bit upset to me...?
  13. In hindsight we know Arizona was misguided in giving up that much for him- it didn't work out, and Ken Wisenhunt with job on the line chose to run with Skelton rather than re-inserting Kolb. Before that he threw 11 TDs and 14 INTs in Philly before Reid gave up on him.
  14. No matter what? He isn't exactly up against a hall of famer. He's competing against an undrafted free agent and a guy who already failed with two teams, has never thrown 10 TDs in a season, and can't stay on the field. It's basically Manuel's job by default.
  15. Thank you, I think he makes the team. The depth chart lists him as Carrington's backup at DE so I'm thinking he's capable of playing multiple positions.
  16. I don't know where this is from but it's perfect.
  17. The bb.com Depth Chart lists both Troup and Gilbert as #96. The Roster page lists Troup #98 and Gilbert #96. I thought 96 played well Sunday
