  1. When I think measuring stick game I think of a team who everybody knows exactly who they are. Two weeks ago KC was an afterthought and now they're a frontrunner- there's ambiguity here about how good they really are. So how much will we truly learn from that game? If we blow them out on their home field might it mean they're not very good? A team like the Pats* is a measuring stick to me because everyone knows exactly where they stand, at the top of the mountain. The perfect control group to our experimental group.
  2. Maybe the LB chuck / safety coverage combo some have talked about here.
  3. I think the Jags game was a useful wakeup call and we be takin care of business, every day, every way.
  4. True. And Amendola will slide right into Edelman's role there. We do need to get into those short passing lanes, which I saw the Bills defense (e.g. Lawson) do last week against the Jets, as they knew Fitz was unlikely to beat em deep. At the same time we must generate pressure. If the DL isn't getting it done on their own, we may have to increase the percentage. Imo it's the most pivotal thing to do to beat Brady.
  5. If this is the case then why the fear of blitzing? If you get consistent pressure on Brady over the course of a day, it then effects him even on a snap where the rush doesn't get home. Pressure throws Tom off his game. I think the coaches should trust their coverage guys and get after him.
  6. If we make the playoffs, McCoy was worth it. Even if it puts us in a hole 2-3 years from now, wouldn't matter to me. gotta wash off the 15-year stink, and anything that helps us do that is a good deal.
  7. Will they look exactly like the 12-4 team, they were last year and steamroll us? Who the hell knows?
  8. Really? The OP was almost exactly what I thought it'd be.
  9. I do not think we win Thursday without McCoy. he was amazing.
  10. It really is, and it gives this offense so many different ways to move the ball. If we can run like that on the Jets you would think we can run on anyone.
  11. I'd like to see him start really mauling people in the ground game. The way we saw John Miller do against Miami, different positions of course. But that is the kind of tackle I thought we drafted at the time, a guy who would dominate the LOS and noticably knock dudes around. It used to often be said that it's the run game where a lineman earns his salary, or doesn't. even if he 'is what he is' he has a lot of value protecting the blindside and being a solid hand in the run game (just feel he's capable of a bit more there). Anything up to 8.5 I'm trigger happy personally, as losing Cordy would put us in a quandry up front. For Roman's benefit I'd like to enter 2016 with a better line than we have now, which is hard to imagine if we lose Glenn.
  12. Interesting. Do other folks agree with him? I thought Glenn was having another year lacking in luster, though he's been strong in pass protection.
  13. Good point. I'm very interested to see how Mr. Roman and his offense perform against a more stout defense.
  14. I think Woods is capable of more than we've seen so far. Whether he's a number two or a number three I don't know, but I see him as a steady chains-mover who can burn you if you sleep on him. As an aside, he stinks with the ball in his hands. I'd like to stop throwing bubble screens and running reverses with The Bob, he's terrible at it. It seems like since we drafted Watkins, Woods has for some reason been used on these plays far more often than Sammy, with no success. Thinking back, that is, he had nowhere to go on that play Sunday. RAC also is not a strength of his. He seems to enjoy running backwards but doesn't have the ability to make it work.
  15. I'll be there in blue. Hopefully it goes something like the Bills game in NJ last year.
  16. Gilmore is a good corner, y'all is crazy. He played well today. One penalty and a few short completions, not exactly a disaster...also had a few breakups. Yes Darby is better, so what? Darby is really freakin good. We have good corners. John Miller was killing people in the run game! Struggled in pass pro, had a couple penalties I believe but he had a tough assignment. I like this kid. In general some real well-blocked run plays today, and McCoy was just fantastic! Gotta give Greg Roman a lot of credit this week.
  17. Lord that was one excruciating football game. When Woods fumbled I lost all cool.
  18. I prefer standing when I watch the Bills and actually usually stand in my living room. Too much nervous energy to sit comfortably. I sat in 13th row for Bills Giants, sat whenever I could for those behind but most of the time the folks in front of us were up. I prefer it but can understand why it'd be bothersome for some.
  19. The perfect threads for the bi-annual Fish squishing.
  20. Thanks for the reviews, John and Bocephuz. You've shown great tenacity in rewatching those losses. I tend to agree with kdiggz that neither one is very good. Henderson is a real softie for such a large man.
