  1. I imagine he jives with the coaching staff too, from Rex to Roman to Kromer.
  2. Nice call man. Would be nice if there's a decent way out after year 2, no? I'm not fussed about it either way though at these numbers.
  3. Hmm could be. he's a great player. I do think we could do okay replacing him with Bryant and get better at critical positions for our scheme, like linebacker, offensive line and cornerback. I'd be focused on linebacker to make this defense better, those are the guys free to make plays and we're at a loss.
  4. I would release him. It stinks to lose a true veteran leader but he's not a great scheme fit and we could reeeally use those USDs.
  5. I agree he should've prioritized it higher once Roman came aboard. He also made some mistakes with the QB position early on, like entering a season with nothing but ej and unproven backups, and signing Kevin kolb. At the same time he put together a team that carried marrone to a winning record. When marrone resigned Whaley was stuck with a coach who was a mismatch for that winning team on multiple levels and who owns a losing career record. I won't be completely sold on Whaley either until he makes the playoffs. I also think a team that goes 9 and 7 under marrone, and a team that goes 8 and 8 under Rex despite being an awful fit, probably makes the playoffs with someone like Mike McCarthy or John fox...a coach who wins. I wouldn't be immediately devastated if they moved on from Whaley but it would seem like a big missed opportunity.
  6. Well I specifically meant the defensive line and the under use of Watkins.
  7. Nix is thankfully out of the way. Whaley saw truly elite NFL talent wasted by a coaching staff which reports directly to ownership.
  8. Rumor was that Whaley's top choice for coach was Hugh Jackson. If we go that way I wonder what conversation we're having now. I think we make better use of Watkins and our 4 strong pass rushers including two first team all pros don't forget how to play all at the same time.
  9. Do they save much by getting Maxwell and cutting Grimes? Curious move.
  10. I made an edit, hope I didn't spoil anything for you. I watched chapter 49 last night, so good.
  11. Is it possible that after the death of the padded practice, in an era of high roster turnover and hurry up offense, that simple is making a comeback? Just a thought.
  12. Na I'm not incognito. I'm totally cognito. That'd be a fun beer to buy.
  13. This show is delicious. I'm trying to space them out but its not going so well. the intro song always worms its way into my head, making tying my shoe or whatever seem inexplicably important. Damn you Underwoods! One day you will fall. Until then I study you like lab rats.
  14. A great run blocking guard is worth more to the Bills than to any other team in the league, with our imaginative run game we use constantly, with how often we ask our guards to pull and with our limited passing game we use as little as possible. In this way re-signing Incognito is an example of 'pulling the rope in the same direction.' How long he can be a great run blocker who can impose his will and open holes is the risk here, but any other move would carry risk of a different sort. I'm happy to take the risk on a player that makes the offense go. I wish we had five Incognitos rather than one- if this were the case you just might see Roman build an offense capable of dragging a mediocre defense kicking and screaming into the playoffs.
  15. I'm always amazed that folks who want to stay positive and think they're being positive can't help but spread negativity by insulting fellow Bills fans. Know that there are many listening who don't feel compelled to try to stomp you out. Thanks for your fresh perspective.
  16. I agree it gives the coach an unusual sort of flexibility, especially Rex who likes to do some creative blitzing with his back seven.
  17. Missing weapons or not we fielded far more talent than they did yet still lost at home. of course penalties have to do with coaching (shared accountability), the coach is the leader of the team and builds the program from the ground up starting way before September. A team takes on the personality of its head coach. i am really not looking to go in circles with this, my point was that Coughlin is a good coach and had dreadful personnel his last few years in NJ.
  18. Coughlin told his team that Rex' team would shoot themselves, and it did just that to the tune of 17 penalties for 135 yards. Our offense had 5+ three and outs in the first half alone, scored 10 total points and gave up 2 game-changing turnovers. The Giants have nothing whatsoever comparable to Marcel Dareus. They have no Kyle Williams, no Jerry Hughes. No CB combo like Gilmore and Darby. No Cordy Glenn, Richie Incognito or Eric Wood. Yet Coughlin beat us on our home field, because he's smarter. He did more with less.
