    if anyone is grading by 'how they did in preseason this year', then jake delhomme should be waaaayyy higher than trent edwards. delhomme has been pretty damn good this preseason. but anyone with half a brain knows that doing good in preseason does not always translate into regular season success.

    first and foremost, our quarterback (whoever it ends up being) needs to step up. The QB play for the past few years has been unacceptable.

    i'm as big a trent edwards critic as they come, but the wobble on those deep passes wasn't bad.

    like these other guys said, fina was decidedly average.. the only thing i remember good about him was his cool blue mouthguard.

    not to mention trent's deep throws were usually rainbows that didnt hit the man in stride, taking touchdowns and turning them into long gainers.

    that's true, but young himself was a #1 overall in the supplemental draft of 1984, so it's not like he was some scrub off the streets. shrug. so i could see compensation being kind of high for him.. in any event, kudos to walsh for grabbing him.

    i loved it when perry played our defensive backs 20 yards off of the Dallas WRs that one Monday night game, giving dallas a few yards to get close enough to try the 57 yarder. sigh.
