Possible, partial explanation for why D was bad
The Big Cat replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is categorically false. Not only did the defense stabilize AND improved, it did so in spite of devastating personnel losses. -
I had to work a Pro Football HOF Event for work a couple years ago. It was in partnership with the United Way and, as such, the heads of the NFL United Way Committee--at the time--were all Bills Brass. Present at the event were (among many others): Marv Russ Mary Owen Jack Youngblood Warren Moon Anthony Munoz Youngblood was talking **** with me. We went back and forth a couple times. I thought it was in good fun. He didn't appreciate my last comment insinuating that he looked like teammate Deacon Jones. Later that night Deacon Jones died. Good times?

And they finished with 15 (15!!!) TD's of 30+ yards. -
Bills' Final Off, Def, and ST Rankings for 2015
The Big Cat replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would actually like to see that number adjusted for defensive scores, special teams scores, and scores following a three and out--meaning FG's (or even TD's) set up by good field position following either a turnover or a big ST return. -
as has been argued here for months now: another thing good coaches do is know when not to 'coach.' Rex's so-called 'loose ship' is in STARK contrast to the bullied-minutia that players (who rehearsed lining up for the national anthem) got in heaping doses last year with Marrone. Instead, Rex's 'loose ship' breeds a tighter team cohesion provided the players engage in a little self-policing. that sort of thing was presumably absent last year with a micromanaging hard ass at the helm and Rex was reeling not having self-directed players in his locker room.

Chris Hogan Played Through Torn Wrist Ligaments

Rex lost the locker room. He's no leader. -
Don't think for a second that I forgot to track these: https://goo.gl/PkzKgg Many of these are PURE GOLD. Seriously though, this should be an annual thing. I'm happy to catalogue as it's a glorious reminder of what we thought might have been only four and a half months ago.

Whaley signs multi-year extension with Bills
The Big Cat replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm convinced that Carucci's source is the admin for the inside sales department. -
So our Vic suspicions appear valid. It's a ludicrous ultimatum anyways. The goal isn't to 'make the playoffs.' And, quite frankly, I cringe every time some one in the organization says it. The goal is to win championships. So, if Vic's report is to be believed, they grab a wildcard in 2016, lose in the first round, but everyone goes home happy? Doesn't matter what happens in 2017?

Bills on Hard Knocks?
The Big Cat replied to strive_for_five_guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why have so many Bills fans signed-off on this being a "distraction?" -
Kyle Williams - team wants him back in 2016, per Sal

In staying with the horse analogy, methinks it had nothing to do with whispering. -
http://www.pajiba.com/netflix_movies_and_tv/is-steven-avery-guilty-evidence-making-a-murderer-didnt-present.php More than meets the eye with Brendan too. Still a victim through and through. But these rootin tootin scrap yard folk weren't as sympathetic as the doc portrayed them.

Dareus finished the game with a broken foot
The Big Cat replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and i'd contend that any meaningful sack incentive was out of reach and any tackle or snap was already reached. may be tackle. may be. -
Dareus finished the game with a broken foot

What reachable incentive could have possibly remained outstanding with less than a quarter to play in the final game? -
Haha, I am? Okay let me break this down for you: FACT: The Bills won 9 games in 2014 and 8 and 2015. So, no. You were factually wrong. You had one shot and you whiffed. Now let's walk through the 14 facts I presented you which you are refuting as 'factual.' The Bills haven't had consecutive non-losing seasons since 1998-99: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/ The Pegulas confirmed last week that Rex will be back. As for Tyrod, I'll concede a half-fact there, since it hasn't been announced that he enters the 2016 offseason the starter. I expect this will change in 90 minutes. But I'll concede the speculation for now: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Pegulas-back-Bills-front-office-and-coaching-staff/fdc9e76f-f5bd-46f2-97c0-642780f3bb30 EDIT: CONFIRMED Since 2004, only Fitz/Chan have reprised from week 17 to week 1. Again. We'll have to wait for confirmation on that, too. But I'm pretty confident in it for now [citation ibid, see: 1] The Bills entered the game yesterday without the following week 1 starters: RB1, WR2, WR3, TE1, WR4, WR5/ST, DT1, SS1, CB1, LB2, RT1. Over the course of the game they also lost: CB2, DE3 and RB 1.5. You can argue the semantics of the word 'depleted' but it's quite apparent that yesterday's Bills were significantly impacted by injuries. I'll concede this one too, since all the 'starters' were very much on the roster in November: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201601030buf.htm. I was referring to the snaps attributed to Salas, Hankerson, OLeary, Powell, Groy, Seamster and Reddick. The Jets were on a five game win streak. Again, you're welcome to argue semantics, but they were definitely on the move. All they needed was a win and they were in. Do I really have to cite this one? Franchise records set this year by the New York Jets: Most total yards, most TD passes by a QB, most yards by a WR and most TD's by a WR (tied). There may be more: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nyj/ IBID Citation IBID, see: 9 Again, semantics, but targets to Sammy comprised 57% of yesterday's passing attempts and he was used in a variety of different routes of varying depths. He'll be 23 in June: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WatkSa00.htm IBID, see 12 I'll give you another half-fact here for speculation. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york-jets/post/_/id/57734/jets-star-darrelle-revis-plays-softly-and-doesnt-speak-at-all

Wow, you managed to gloss over all facts to make a non-factual point. That's really something.

Today, for the first time in the 21st Century we're coming off two consecutive non-losing seasons, headed into the offseason with no plans to change the HC and QB, only the second time that's happened since 2004. And yesterday, with an injury depleted roster, with multiple starters on both sides of the ball that weren't on the roster in November, they beat a surging, playoff bound division rival that set numerous franchise records this season and needed a victory for their first playoff berth since 2010. We beat them by showcasing a 22 year old receiver, through whom the offense ran in spite of his matchup across from a first-ballot HOF CB who was so embarrassed he refused to address the media after. If this isn't a team on the rise, exactly what is it?

Doesn't sound like you're all too certain that Sully's prediction will come true then, which would be a reasonable take for anybody in January.
