Because Searcy was gone and Duke Williams was hurrendous and Meeks is MIA and because Darby was BPA and because the rest of the offseason acquisitions last year were on offense.

Of course it's "out of bounds." What I'm interested in hearing is your feelings on the hundreds of other "out of bounds" questions/procedures associated with the combine. Why are you so fixated on this one? And if it's because it's the only one we've heard of, then that speaks to his lack of discretion. Unless you believe this was the only "out of bounds" question asked of the hundreds of guys who shuffled through there. But from what I surmise, it's just the only one the media got their hands on.

You're right, it is no different. What is different is prospects know better than to talk about it. Am I being clear about the difference as it applies here? When you were fresh out of college, did you interview for jobs that carried salaries of six or seven digits? I'm certain there is a deep dive into these guy's personal lives that we mere civilians simply aren't subjected to. That doesn't justify asking about a man's sexual preferences. I get that. But to be suddenly outraged by THAT line of questioning strikes me as inconsistent, given the dive into their personal lives that undoubtedly takes place in these settings, most of which we'd have no problem with.

I'm not suggesting the Falcons aren't a little ass backwards for putting the issue front and center. I am, however, a little surprised that folks are shocked at this glimpse behind the curtain. It's something we fans so rarely get. Why? Because players intrinsically understand what stays behind the closed door. My guess is: if they didn't, we would hear about this stuff all the time and by now would be numb to it. Just a hunch. So, if there is, in fact, a team by team by team behind the scenes culture in the NFL, one that looks a little naughty by conventional social standards (as this incident would illustrate), then, yes, he's an idiot for being privy to that culture for one friggin day then demonstrating an inability to keep from flapping his gums about it.

Corey Graham restructures contract

Rodak has a habit of undervaluing all the Bills financial situation. Often erroneously so. -
okay. why? Imagine auditioning for a job and being forced to do something so strenuous in an outfit so revealing that your dong popped out. Where was the horror then? Why are we suddenly aghast at the level of scrutiny/humiliation these guys are put through as part of the COMBINE. Jesus, it's right there in the word: combine. an agricultural machine that cuts, threshes, and cleans a grain crop in one operation.

YEP Gone are the days of discretion. We strip 20 year olds down to their underwear to get a better look at their body make up. We weigh them. We put them through medical screening. We put them through physical tests--all in preparation for a multi-million dollar investment in their future. And you guys think that the hiring standards that apply to you and your corporate careers are what should be at play? Tone down the outrage. These guys get asked wild things all the time. The process, by its very nature, is probing and humiliating. This guy is an idiot for going public with the proceedings right away.

Cro to Graham's position, Graham to Leo's. That seems like an upgrade to me.

In what sense was he useless?

Yes. That's right. Always Crusading. I have the gaul to call people on their bull ****. And that makes me a Crusader. Oh the Crusades! Crusade away! That's my motto! Let me stop by mindless Crusade and ask you a yes or no question: Should Mario have done more to stop Kirk Cousins on that play?

What I find insane about all this is that from a tactical point of view, the naysayers engage in discourse the way you would if your goal was to smear your opposition. At the firm I used to work at, we had a saying, if you're defending, you're losing. So if we have an opponent, our goal was to put them on the defensive. Then you throw the kitchen sink at them and watch them scramble to return volley. Here comes the insanity: This is what Bills fans do...to other Bills fans. For the witless few of us who get caught in these traps, each preposterous point is met with a counterpoint, which is then marginalized as an excuse while the next level of absurdity is served up. I JUST DON'T GET IT. And I've wanted to strangle my upstairs neighbor. Doesn't make me a murderer.

Well, now it sounds like you acknowledge that he quit on the play...but that's cool because it happens all the time. And somehow that makes it a bad example of him quitting. Even though you acknowledge he quit.

More? In addition to which ones?
-
I don't think you follow. When a Bills coach loses, it's because he's woefully incompetent. When a Bills coach wins, it's because he got super lucky that one time.
-
Okay, so since you chose to be snarky about it, I'll assume you had no point to begin with.
-
So from what I'm reading: regardless of what we pay Mario and especially when the rest of his teammates quit on a play, there's no expectation that he go above and beyond to stop a QB from rushing the ball into the endzone from 13 yards out. Is it fair to say that you don't think Mario could or should have done more to stop Cousins from scoring? And if you don't think that's fair, then what exactly is it that you're arguing?

Whaley said yesterday that the talent on defense will look different. This is not the first time he's mentioned that defense will be the offseason focus. So there's no reason to believe what you perceived as a mismatch in 2015 (which I don't altogether disagree with) will persist.
-
YES!! He did have to do it all! The man was given--at the time--the highest salary of a defensive player. Is it too much to ask to blow up a play then pursue from the backside to FINISH IT? What the hell? He STOPPED PLAYING. YES. He SHOULD HAVE TRIED. He should WANT TO DO IT ALL. Von Miller does. Jerry Hughes does. Players who will make a fraction of what Mario made in his career do. Yours is the LAMEST justification I have ever heard for a player of Mario's supposed-caliber. And it simply doesn't equate with the money he was making. NOT ONE BIT.

You guys followed the analogy a lot closer than I did. My eyes went crossed.
-
Yep. And he hurt us severely in Pats*2. With Leodis, you gotta take the hot with the ice cold. Cuz you'll get them both.
-
I was loving it too.

so was hughes. wasn't this the play that incited the gatorade throw?

The Bills didn't in 2014. And yet that's the standard by which 2015 was measured.
