We need to pin this. The revisionism on the 2014 defense is astonishing at times. It nearly rivals how we remember the 2013 defense that couldn't stop anything when it mattered. The 2013 defense slipped in its 10th ranking thanks in large part to the statistical anomaly they posted at home against Miami in week 16 (only allowed 100 yards of total offense, posted a shut out, sacked Tanny 7 times). Then the Patriots ran for more than 260 yards the following week.

Who's comparing them? The Pats let Brandon LaFell go and his target volume will likely be assumed by Hogan and/or a combination of Hogan and a healthy Edleman. Either way, the acquisition of Hogan won't have a tremendous impact on their offense. Expect more of the same. They'll be good and Hogan will be good in their system. But they won't be substantially better with LaFell gone and Hogan replacing him.

Great. So they replaced Brandon LaFell. Whoopy.

Where the roster is not lacking in talent (QB, S, LB) it is significantly above average. Which means, on the whole, it's above average, IMO.

Hogan had a torn ligaments in his wrist all season and on several occasions dropped balls when he was wide open. Please explain what coaching could have done to alleviate any of these things?

Oh? Is that what he's saying today? My take from how he's comported himself the last 24 hours: he was one of the players not on board, but was just quiet about it. Him, Brown and Mario, that we can identify now.

Honestly, to me these numbers are meaningless. And I expect for many of you too. But it's hard not to oggle the amounts. I just wish, though, that we could see what these salaries were as a percentage/percentile relative to team salary. That would give us a better indication of their worth.

Ha, I get it, I do. But you could do a whole HELL of a lot worse than Fitz. And with that defense (that's losing parts now every day), is Fitz really a downgrade from either of the two they had last year?

That's looking likely? May be? With Brock in Houston, RGIII reported to pique Denver interest. Got to imagine Fitz is on their short list too.

And yet, statistically, we had some our worst games defensively against their offense in 2015. In the first matchup a lot of their production came in garbage time, granted. But in the home game, we were a Hughes strip-sack away from being up against it hard.

Unless, of course, the four blushy-face emojis were in reference to LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE AT ALL.

All feels like wack-a-mole to me.
