  1. I've been told it's good for 80% of success. Perhaps you and Mr. Allen have a difference of opinion. But that's not really the point. The point is you've made some pin-headed distillation, a straw man assertion that's categorically false and a million miles from reality. Perhaps nobody ever cued you in on what the rules that already govern our electoral process.
  2. Voters are held to a minimum standard. That standard is now being lifted, unjustifiably so, but purposefully so fewer people can meet it.
  3. Well, you have your answer, you're just sticking to your guns, and that's fine. Bull-headed, but fine. But since you've been given the answer dozens of times and insist on plainly ignoring it, I'm wondering what answer, what data, what evidence would satisfy your queries. Methinks none exist. Methinks you have no point to make other than "those people are !@#$ing lazy and shouldn't be allowed to vote if they can't drag their worthless asses to an ID center like the rest of us hardworking, upstanding American citizens who have the same access as they do because everyone's life is the same as mine." Was there something you wanted to add? Or did you just want to repeat yourself via rhetorical questions and let my words speak for you?
  4. Ha! I was curious about this thread, until clicking on it and finding the majority of responses hidden because they came from blocked posters.
  5. In 2010, I voted Green and Libertarian, and abstained from casting a vote in any race between just a Dem and a Rep.
  6. I don't vote Democrat. But I wouldn't expect you to understand a world not starkly divided between black and white.
  7. Since when did the status quo become catering??
  8. And I'm sorry, the distinction you're making is...? Oh right, like anything GOP, it's just a big fat tough titties, dregs.
  9. Why don't you read any number of the articles that have already been posted in this thread, on the Internet, printed in your local newspaper, et al. Your question has been answered numerous times. And once again: I've never said it doesn't exist. Just as EII said, I've said over and over and over again that it's virtually inconsequential. That doesn't mean it doesn't occur, and I have YET to say as much. Have I ever told you my idea for doing away with rocket fuel by building a giant titanium tube that goes straight through the center of earth from the north pole to the south pole?
  10. No, you dummy. THIS is how it would go down (assuming you were blessed enough to look like me and be born around the same time). Big Cat: Hi, I'm here to vote. Poll worker: Great, let me see your ID. (hands worker LABILLZ's ID) (poll worker looks at ID, looks at Big Cat, notes that the person standing in front of him is, in fact, 6'3" 230, blonde haired, blue eyed, 28 years old and strikingly hansom, as his photo ID suggets) Poll worker: Okay, great LABILLZ, here's your ballot, you can enter into booth 4. Big Cat: Thanks. I'm voting for Obama. Poll worker: Please don't tell me that. Big Cat: Sorry, I can't help it. I'm just so excited about what he's done for our country. Poll worker: Anyhow... Big Cat: (throws index finger in the air, spins around and bounds across the polling station to booth 4) YES WE CAN!
  11. Actually, I've bounced at bars here in Chicago, have spent hours at a time looking at ID's. I'm also young enough to know how easy it is to get one's hands on a fake ID--a siblings, a friend's sibling, or just a straight up counterfeit. So explain again how the ID law that will keep hundreds of thousands from voting is a.) full proof and b.) warranted. You could always come out and say because it will help the GOP win. That would actually be an acceptable answer. At least then you (the global you) would be honest.
  12. Just because you're too slow to keep up, doesn't mean others can't have a substantive dialogue. Why don't you go play with your kid or something.
  13. And if you bear resemblance to your neighbor, how will an ID fix that?
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, TSW's **** cloud has returned, and it looms lower than ever! Firing George Edwards, bad. Designing a scheme to fit our current talent, then getting the best talent available to plug in, also bad. We have one outstanding receiver, a handful of situational receivers, a receiving threat at tight end and two dynamite backs, "personnel challenges" Couldn't do it last year, won't do it this year (easy schedule bedamned). Oh, boy. You never fail to deliver! At this point, I'm convinced this is some drawn-out performance piece.
  15. That's great! The same cannot be said for every state and community though. One state's policy does not a universe solution make.
  16. The implication being...? It's more prudent to serve the economy than the environment? To serve the thing that we ultimately control, or the cosmic powers that can and ?
  17. Except professional athletes are possessed competitors. One could argue him and Clements were the only gamers on the roster for quite some time. He gave it all on game day, and for naught.
  18. Truth. I don't care to debate where he fits on the roster now. We don't need him anymore, and it's a damn shame his body's as fragile as it is. But when he was in his prime...WOW. If this conversation be added to the digital record, let it center around everything the guy did for a team that did him no favors in return. Was always a big fan, always will be.
  19. Also: Thurman Thomas LOVES quoting Christmas Vacation on Twitter: today's proof. You have to trust me when I say this is a re-occurring thing for him.
  20. You've succeeded, admirably.
